Yes! More procedural modeling tutorials, please. I enjoy proceduralism a lot, regardless if it's done in Houdini, Blender, Unreal or whatever other software you may come up with. Thanks and keep up the good work!

This is sick man! I am follow along, but I am stuck on the group node for the ‘Displacement Along Normals’ at 7:57… And when I download the blend file I can't seem to open it. How would I make one of those myself?
@@loesvandam3277 Hey man! thank you so much! I just realised I uploaded the .blend1 file which might not work for everyone, I will upload the correct file soon. For this displacement node you basically need a set position node, and offset by the normal, so plug a normal node into the offset, and in between a Vector Math node set to "scale" or "multiply", then whatever you plug in it will be your height information
@@loesvandam3277 and in between the texture and the Vector math you can control the midvalue and strength by plugging first an add operation and then a multiply operation
excellent video, good ser. and thank you for the file. went and tried it out. however, when i connect object info geometry into the resample curve's curve, after drawing an outline out, the geometry doesn't show. might you know why? am currently trying to figure it out. thank you!
Hello! Thank you for your appreciation! For you issue, please make sure the curve you drew is closed and flat, make sure the origin of your curve is placed in the center, if it's too far away, the points might not be inside the shape. If it still doesn't work, please let me know
@@ezekielswiss4347 Hey! I don't really know how 3D printing works, but I believe the most important is that the model at the end has no holes or intersection in it, so a remesh modifier might allow you to do just that
I tried many toturials, couldnt find any basalt textures and worst of all most textures are now adays paid. Well time to try this. But thanks alot for making this vedio
@@TheCorruptedPrime I'm glad you want to try out my tutorial! I also sent the file for free to download in the bio of the video if you need a faster route. Basalt grows in columns which makes it makes it hard to make only with displacement/height info
@maximusgerardin I see, thanks for the file info tho, but I will have to take the long and patient route. I wanna learn as much as I can. So I will gladly watch ur toturials till I understand every thing I need to. Also will watch a documentary on basalt.

Blender is very powerful but still far away from houdini capabilities, and I personnally like to take some houdini setups and challenge myself to do it in Blender. But it'll never mean it is useless to get into houdini ;)

can i 3d print this and it stay like that? I tried to do something like this and it was not printing correctly because there is no geometry i think>?

Houdini can still accomplish this much more realistically

time to throw 3dsmax out
No, with tyflow plugin, geometry node can not beat it.
