I’m on my third Harley Davidson motorcycle since I got back into riding and the bike that I got right now, my 2021 street glide special will be the first bike I buy new tires for. I traded the other two in before before they needed new tires. Great video.

I inspect my tires regularly. I use my jack and look for any damage or uneven wear. I check my air pressure atleast once per week. I generally replace the wheel bearings every other tire change
Good information. I had a set of Commanders on my softail that started cupping. My neighbor works for BFG/ Michelin so I said something to him. We took pictures and he asked the engineer at work about it. He said barring any mechanical issues tire pressure is the number one issue. He also said to use the recommended pressure imprinted on the tire. Not necessarily what the motorcycle manufacturers say. As construction practices vary.

My 07' K1200 Gt, I went with BMW recommended tire for this bike which are made by Metzeler and found them to be absolute trash. I check and keep my tire pressures at manufacturers spec's. I'm not racing around corners and doing wheelies, these tires suck, cupping after one season on front and rear with major tire noise off center patch. So when someone tells me after one season, that I need to change my tires because they are cupping, what really needs to be done, is stop using that manufacturer. Some manufacturers are over producing tires which in turn sit and dry/harden sometimes sitting on a shelf for years. So in reality, what do we expect. Most motorcycle shops know they are selling you old stock and can't wait to see you in the very near future. Now I demand tires dated within the first 6 months of manufacture or I will call another shop or better yet purchase my own online and have dealer install. Lastly... the dealer shop trick of not quite balancing the tire, meaning tire is balanced to good enough standard. When you ride at speed you will most likely not even noticed, your tires will have a little bounce to them in turn creating the cupping over time. Why is it if I purchase a brand new bike, I get way more life out of the tire, then on my first tire change it is cupping galore...hmmm.
