havent thrifted alot latley but best overall was Yashica TLR for 25$ and a Olympus mju ii 80 for 2$
Man, we're hearing some Pinoys there, too! Awesome content as always. 😍
King, He is a little FYI, The F80 or N80 that Fujifilm use the model in their very first DSLR as it became the Fuji S2Pro 6Pixel model in which that you cane shoot it in RAW as it will imploded to 12Pixel shooting as I have this model too. And also that you can fine a camera grip for the F80 which do not need the 2 CR125 batteries as it will be power by AA rechargeable batteries. Good Find, and good video...
The F80/ N80 was the first film slr I bought back in the days. I still have it however the move to plastic on things in the 90's meant the latch of the back cover has broken and it won't close unless I tape it with gaffer tape for each roll.
I had the same problem with mine after trying to get it back in order after many years storage with all my other film cameras. I dremeled out the small plastic nubs to remove the battery contact plate on the door to remove the broken tab. Long story short, instant glue and baking powder and filing, I now have a functional battery door and shooting the remaining roll of B&W film left in it, Marvelous camera representing the apogee of the last of Nikon prosumer film cameras.
I recently found a Canon A1 at a Value village with a 135mm lens for $100. You bet I picked it up right on the spot!
The N80/F80 is a fantastic autofocus SLR, especially for the money. You can also get a battery grip for it. It’s been my go-to autofocus SLR for a while now. All your modern Nikon F-mount glass will work with it as well.
It's a shame that thrift shops aren't a thing here in Portugal, would love to find myself a few of these gems as well. Great video!
Same
I go to 5 different Thrift stores in my city and never find good finds like you. Dam u lucky.
The Nikon F80 (Europe) or in the USA the N80, its chassis was the platform for the digital Nikon D100.
Wow! You guys in California are so lucky. Thrift stores in Texas only carry clothes, crappy kitchen appliances, and chipped dishes!!! Anyone here from Texas know where these good thrift stores are, LET ME KNOW. Am in the DFW area.
Ive been finding film cameras out here in Japan for under 3 dollars, its a goldmine out here.
I love my n80. Dad gave it to me for free and was like donate it. I kept it and dug it up all of the sudden when i got into film! F mount is so versatile and fun to fool around with weird focal lengths for cheap
I have a f80 + 50mm af , its a fun camera. Makes you wonder why people spend so much on expensive point and shoots?
portability/quality ratio, I had a Fujifilm Super 145az, and its surprisingly given me good results. Sold it since I kinda want a bit more control
I worked at Ritz/Wolf Camera for several years and sold a kit with the N80 and two Sigma lenses (28-70 f/3.5-5.6 and 70-300 f/4-6.3 or something like that) and it came with a couple of filters and that green Sigma bag. We also sold the same kit under the Quantaray brand which was re-branded Sigma gear specifically sold under the Ritz/Wolf name.
Heck of a find on that N80. It's a solid camera. The lens is meh, tho. Good thing you found a better Nikon lens during your thrifting... LOL
I recently found & purchased a Polaroid SX-70 model 2 for $40 (Canadian dollars). Approx. $32 USD. It's my best buy in a long time.
My best thrift store finds must be Olympus AF-1 for 1,5€ and Pentax MX for 25 €. Olympus was basically unused mint condition and MX just needed new light seals.
Olympus XA with flash.. original box.. paid $25 for it and the light meter seems a little off but self timer etc extra works.. need to develop the film to see if it lived up to the hype
Best deal Ive got recently is an Olympus XA for $10, needed new light seals which I replaced. My best find of all time was a Nikon l35af for $1! Sadly I had to sell it cause I was injured and couldn't work. Developed one roll out of the l35af and it had some absolutely killer quality, still haunts me that I sold it
I found a pair of boxers at the thrift recently low-key one of my best finds. I sleep in them like a baby
You should make a video with that cool combo, a street photography one.
I’m writhing for my Nikon N60 I picked up for 80 in total. Can’t wait to shoot some film I’m honor to a friend who past away almost a month ago
That's the Nikon 50mm 1.8AF... but it's a steal for $30. The 50mm 1.8D is a bit better in body design but doesn't have that distance scale under a window. The -D does also have a longer focus throw which makes manual focusing easier, but it is also a little loose feeling when on manual compared to a manual lens. The D also of course has...D.. which doesn't matter unless you're using flash.
My best thrift store find is a cross between a Sony NEX-5T with a kit lens and battery in working condition for $12 or a Canon FD 85mm 1.2 L for $260
Nice pickups dude! I'm digging that Olympus bag. My favorite find was probably a Yashica Rangefinder that I got for $10 or a Ricoh R1 I found for $5!
It’s been pretty dry for me too. I found an Epson v500 scanner, but that’s been it. I did just score a Nikon F5 for $150 on FB Marketplace
v500s are worth a good amount tho you got a deal
I recently picked up a olympus pen EF halfframe camera for 15 euro but best find has to be a mamiya C330 pro F for 10 euro.
Hey! Last month I found a Yashica T4 at the thrift store for $4.99/sold for $400
My main camera is the Nikon N90s, fantastic camera, it kicks major ass!
The best I found lately was a Canon AE-1 w/50mm 1.8 lens. Camera and Lens are clean inside and out, all functions work perfect. 2000 yen or about $18
3 Olympus epic zooms, pentax iqzoom-ezyr and got a mint Minolta x-700 kit with 4 lenses, bag, and bonus film for 80 dollars!
My best find recently was a Nikon N2000 with a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 and a Nikkor Micro 200mm f/4 plus a vintage Nikon flash for $55. All in very good condition. Pretty exited about that one. Enjoy your content!
Nice pickups, I’ve recently picked up some nice point and shoots. Canon Sureshot 85mm, Nikon one touch zoom 90, and an Olympus Stylus Epic 80 zoom. All for around $15. So sweet finds at the thrift.
Can't wait to see a little review of the Nikon f80... Thanks for this video.
Dude I found a similar bag but inside the bag was the Nikon N80 which is the same thing and a Pentax me super
I HAVE THE f90x WITH batt grip .........SO COOL TO FIND THESE CAMS DUDE .......
I love my f80 i can use all my dslr lenses with af, vr and everything
The Nikon N80/F80 paired with that very same 50mm 1.8D was my first film setup. I actually shot some of my best rolls through that camera and it's still kicking. You are going to seriously love it, the meter is very good too. Only downside is how loud the lens auto focus is. IT EVEN HAS TTL, yes that's right. TTL. You gotta try it with some external lights.
Same. It is a neat little camera, and still a huge bargain. It works 100% with newer AF S lenses too (if AF noise bothers you).
It can be noising focusing, but it actually is VERY quiet winding the film, which most cameras before and after were not.
This is so satisfying to watch! more film camera thrifting videos pleeease~ oh! I heard pinoys from the last thrift shop ♥️
I have the worst thrift luck. Last attempt the BEST I found was an early 00s budget cannon digital. 1.5 inch screen guys!!!
the n80 slapppppppsss
Got a Nikon L35AF with case and manual at a thrift store for $10 back in December. The hype is real on that camera
I love these videos, thanks for sharing!
I wish there was thrift stores down here :'(
Best find recently was a Minolta SRT101 with a 58mm Rokkor f/1.4, 135mm Rokkor f/2.8, 35mm Soligar, and another 135mm Vivitar lens all $50 out the door, I've got a Rokkor collection in going but shoot Nikon for my daily carry 😅
i found a kodak easyload35 ke60 for 6 bucks. i dont know much about it but im excited to try it out :)
My last thrift shop trip netted a Ricoh 35ZF point and shoot with a really good 40mm F2. 8 lens.$15
I recently found the Nikon N4004S Film SLR camera at a thrift store recently back earlier this month and I would love to get back into shooting film again soon. I'm looking for a Nikon 28-200 D series Nikkor lens for the camera myself.
Best thrift find I’ve had in the last few months is a Pentax MX for $25! Cleaned up nice and replaced the light seals. Waiting on my first roll to be developed.
One thing the F80 has over the F100 is that the F80 has a threaded shutter release port and the F100 does not!
Here in SoCal in my local antique store I picked up 2 SX-70 Alphas for $11 and a Nikon F for $35
bro, I really miss this thing bro thrifting bro
and nice video bro
The 4004 was my first camera!
same here, my first SLR
THe red case is made for the XA, the limited edition red version to be exact.
Nikon 4004 in Europe is named 401, it would be nice if it had manual ISO setting, not only dx coding
I bought a canon PowerShot elph 520hs for $15 cad a while back its probably my best find (I don't buy vintage cameras)
Would love to see a video trying all these cameras and showing the results ✨🌈✨
My best camera thrifting was an olympus mju1 for like 4$ and a leica af-c1 for like 6$. Very nice finds, and both worked great and shot really good photos 👌🏻👌🏻
Recently picked up a Nikomat FT2 with a 50mm f2 lens. The camera seems to be working fine. However the lens has some mold. It was ¥6,000 (about $60).
Last November I got a Canon EOS 650 with a 35-105mm lens for ¥1,000 (about $10). It’s been working well.
I simply can't get enough of your videos. Keep up the great work! 😄
Haven't had much luck with point n shoots recently but I found a N80 for$15, OM-1 with 50 f1.4 for $35, ae-1 program with 50 f1.8 for 45. SF10 with some zoom lenses and a brand new cr25 battery for $13
I sold my Nikon F100 for the F80. Love that camera
Why may I ask?
@@ronezio6863 The F100 has more features but is a lot heavier but gives same results/picture quality as the F80.
@@gnoziglia I see, thanks
Latest Camera thrift for me was a Minolta XG-M and Canon EOS rebel X or AKA Rebel Kiss as it's called in europe.
I've got maybe 4 point and shoots because I'm more of an SLR or Rangefinder guy because I would like some monicure of control over my photos.
Wish I had thrift shops like urs where I am
Not camera related but the best thrift find I ever picked up was a £900 Gucci polo for £8 which I’ve had legit checked, and is 100% authentic
My rolls of Super HQ expired expired 2003. They had been cold stored since they were bought so I've shot them at 200 and 100 with good results
Super load KJ! Great stuff.
I thrifted a Minolta xg-1 for $8 a Pentax me super (all black) with the 50mm 1.8 for $10 and a Sears KS super for $10 as well!
Nice finds. The N4004 (F-401) is bulky and not that wanted but the 50mm is of course very nice. Small detail: you say 50/1.8 AF-D but it's the first gen non-D. Not a big deal although the aperture ring lockout of the 1st gen AF lenses is easily knocked off. And of course no D. The N80 (F-80) is a really cool camera and feels like having a modern dSLR but than film. Mine has the grip but my F-80 is prone to malfunction (read more about it). It's a pity because it's a nice camera.
That Phallic object was a turkey baster lol
I
Snagged a f80/n80 on eBay for $30 and it came with a sigma 28-90 lens
last month i found a Olympus OM-10 with a nifty 50mm 1.8
i just picked an Nikon F80 up off of eBay just a few days ago i yet to get a 50mm lens i am an ebay reseller have been for 8 years but this camera is now my camera it's not going anywhere lol I'm going to get a roll of Fuji 200 after i get the lens for it
Nice format! Every your video is awesome 🔥💪
love your videos man! maybe do a "Point and shoot vs Dslr challenge" Can you/we tell the difference between the same photo taken on two different cameras?
just picked up my first Olympus stylus epic zoom 80 for 6$ here in Canada!! great video as always!!
Love these videos man. Thanks.
I thrifted a Nikon FE2 for only $20. They thought it was broken as the shutter didn't fire and they priced it accordingly but all it needed was a fresh battery!
you should do a whole video shooting portraits on that ricoh camera, but using the long end of the zoom. like throw some fast film in there and then shoot everything at like 85 mm and see what you get.
I got two Minolta Point and shoots in the past month or so. A Freedom Zoom 140 for $10 and I overpaid a bit but a Hi-Matic AF just had to come home with me.
I've been watching all of your thrift videos because about a week ago I found a Pentax K1000 with a Sony Handycam and a bunch of lenses and filters for $25.. I also since then found an Olympus Trip 35 for $5 that's currently in the mail. I'm super excited to be able to find cheap camera gear like this though because my sister went to photography school and so my parents always designated photography and buying cameras to her (keep in mind I was like MAYBE 14) so I felt like I had no way of getting into photography. But, now I go to thrift stores and I find all sorts of fun stuff I can actually afford and take great photos on :) (btw I saw another one of your videos where you sampled Fuji Superia 400 and now I'm shooting it bc I loved the look)
best find lately was a Yashica FD Quartz for $9 and a 1960s Yashica Mimy for $9
I really like your videos and this makes me want to go thrifting!
That lens is sharp and renders images really well.
I have not found any on my thrift store. eBay has been my to go thrift
Great video,I hope you Will try the Nikon f80 for us ...
Congratulations for your work ... love it
I got a nikon l35 af with the original box and nikon pouch to hold it for 50 dollars. The camera was practically new
the red case is a dedicated xa case
best finding for me was a pentax A3 (or a3000) for 15 euros :)
Mate, one thing I can recommend if you wanna keep the F80: The battery grip! It takes up AA batteries, so it's a lot cheaper to power up the camera and it fits really nice into your hands.
Luckily my F80 came with the grip and I also use it with this exact lens. I used to carry around this thing for three days in Vienna and took some of my best shots ever. Lovely camera, I hope to see some images from you! 👍
The n80 has a grip?!! Please share the name or link.
@@alejandroarredondo1997 it's the MB-16 ✌🏼
Very cool finds ! Could you do a video to give advice on thrifting point & shoots because whenever I picked one up, it was not working...
Last year I found and flipped a Pentax PC35AF, Nikon Lite Touch, SX70 Land Camera, Olympus Hi-Lite, QL17, and a Nikon N80. But as of lately, I can't find sheeeeeeit! 😂
the red case i think it was from the special edition xa2 in red , really cool !
thrifted a ricoh GR1v recently heh $5 at the local goodwill
I didn't know you hit 100k!! Congratulations bro.😀👍🏻
came from the sleep walk cover
I snagged a pentax smc 50mm 1.4 for $7 last month
Too bad about that garbage Sigma lens, but the N80 is a very cool camera. Even works with AFS lenses and VR. I actually have 3 of them, but i got them all for a very very good price considering what it can do. Also lucked out and have 2 of the battery grips.
Bam! Nice pick up's bro
Got an Pentax ME super with 2 lenses and the case at a thrift for $12 last month.
Looking in the comments is giving me hope! Dude idk if I'm going to the wrong spots but it's been so hard finding film cameras in Washington 😭 I did thrift a Minolta Hi-Matic AF2 (anyone know if this is a good one?) recently and still testing out to see if it works. If not, prob gonna return it. Don't know why but every time I go thrifting for film cameras, I always find something on my last stop lol.
That's a good one. :)
Just got an Olympus AF-TL for $20. About to develop my roll from it and see if it works! 🤞
