A most revealing comment! Always in the background away from the main courtroom drama busily tapping away, who would've guessed court reporters are actually human with thoughts and feelings of their own?
So true!! I’ve been a court reporter for over 30 years. I’ve worked in multiple aspects of the career…the courtroom and the freelance industry. And I approve this statement.
I really miss comedy shows like this one (especially in 2020)!!! Programs of this quality could help ease up some of the stress and strain, that almost all of us feel. Ms. Carol Burnett is so wonderful and her TV show was one of the very best ever.
I love how she slapped him backwards because he said the butler did it and she went off did Harvey's job for him got the gun the rest is history. Carol was one of the best in the business
2:14 "your honour, could you ask the killer to speak up...?" she sounds so exasperated LMAO 5:33 "WOULD YOU GET ON W-" "AAALLLRRRRRIIIIIGHT!!!" Carol and Harvey are hilarious!!
Carol wants to have the "main role" but NOT the judge's!! What a skit! What writing!! Superb!! I watch Carol Burnett Shows again and again and never tire of it
Gee I miss Comedy like this Carol Burnett was the absolute best there was and when teamed up with Harvey and Tim chaos was always the best laugh you could get.
love this as I became a court reporter myself. I'm very glad that she is 'writing' very realistically instead of slow and deliberate which is not how you write on the machine and how you can tell that person has not been shown how to look realistic. it's funny too because as a court reporter you are not supposed to interject yourself in any way into the proceedings. you are basically a fly on the wall, observing and taking it down, etc.
Good skit, thought it was gonna be a one-liner one, but then when she started sympathizing, it got really good, LOL..."where did you learn to practice law, in the white house ?" Brilliant....
lmao, hilarious, john byner was great, and of course carol and harvey. "i only collected if she burnt down during a burglary." "where did you practice learning law, the white house?" john byner's 6 appearances were in 1973-74 , nixon resigned august 9, 1974.
There is a tendency - at least with me - to only view the "The Family" sketches....but tonight, in going through so many clips, I have been reminded of the true genius of Burnett, Korman, Conway and co. Great writing!
They won't have her for this reason: When the show first started, they tried not to be like Carol Burnett, with all the laughing during sketches and being very broad.
I've been a court reporter for 40 years. It's stressful, but so worth it. No two days are alike. I'd encourage you to look into joining the profession. For the right person, it is extremely rewarding and lucrative.
I simply gave up with watching television now. There is no real good humor. Often they try too hard to be funny. Less is more. I miss the great comedy shows like Carol Burnett. I've tossed my television.
The butler did it my aunt fanny! When she shakes her hips like Elvis everyone loses it too fun! 😋 Where did you learn to practice law in the Whitehouse! LOL
No one could make this comedy like these guys.
I've been a court reporter for 17 years, mostly in court, and I can tell you we ALL have felt like Carol at some point. 🤣

34 years here, the last 25 in criminal trials, and I often think, holy crap, if the jurors knew what I’m thinking! 😂

What a classic Carol you are one of a kind there has never been anyone like you. Thank you for the memories!!!!
I love how she slapped him backwards because he said the butler did it and she went off did Harvey's job for him got the gun the rest is history. Carol was one of the best in the business
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this skit. I'm in court reporting school. You do hear some crazy things. I definitely have to work on my poker face.
You made the same comment a year before this. How did you go?
@@HollyOak It's 2 years old now and even I want to know.
Do I hear 3?
@@HollyOak oh, I've been out of school and working in court over a year now. I love it!
Oh my gawd! I have to bite the inside of my cheek!
I'm going to court reporting school right now. I LOVE this sketch! 😂😂😂😂
Good luck I hope you're there by now :)
it shd b required viewing before the final exam!
Carol Burnett show = Class
This clip is why I always yell, “DON’T HAND ME THAT BOLOGNA , FARMINGTON!” to someone who’s giving me an excuse lol
"Where did you learn to practice law - in the WHITE HOUSE!" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This one aged a bit too well 😂
Obamurs white house.
@@cnow7583 And now Trump's.
_The Butler did it my Aunt Fanny_ 😂😂
Be Seeing You - In the study with a candle stick & twinkie
You twerp!!!! 😅
What a great skit, with C.B and H.K. both OUTSTANDING Comedians,
and one of my all time favorites John Byner.......🤣
Carol Burnett. .,one of the funniest comedy actress of all time😂👏

What acting. I was so happy back in the 70.
Fantastic - right up to Carol Burnett high standards!
Gee I miss Comedy like this Carol Burnett was the absolute best there was and when teamed up with Harvey and Tim chaos was always the best laugh you could get.

This skit kinda makes ya think what real court reporters think during high profile murder trials.
A lot of the same stuff, just quietly. :)
Would've loved to see her at Simpson's 1995 trial. She'd have punched his black ass out too!
Sherry Lindsay ‘
Oh, we do. 😏
Can you imagine her at the Simpson criminal trial?
John Byner is a great comedic performer actor!
Let’s give credit to the judge in this skit who didn’t die laughing or break character
If only court was really this entertaining in real life... Well, it is if you're Judge Judy! 😆
LOL! Meanwhile, the "Judge" stands by and let the stenographer rule!
I was a hearing recorder for the social security admin disability hearings and...this is relatable for that TOO. ESPECIALLY that first "HA!!!" XD
I love this skit!!!
Good skit, thought it was gonna be a one-liner one, but then when she started sympathizing, it got really good, LOL..."where did you learn to practice law, in the white house ?" Brilliant....
As a court reporter, I can only dream of doing this! Lol
Thank you all for your service!❤
John Byner is so cute and adorable! I like how timid he is in this skit. Carol has me rolling with laughter.
I could NEVER do this job. My emotions are on my face
Carol was absolutely in top form in this one!
I often wondered what the court reporter was thinking, especially as foreman on a murder trial. Brilliant!
What a masterpiece! This was absolutely brilliant! Thank you, thank you for posting this!
Carol Burnett looks like “Church Lady”.
She would never get away with that if Judge Judy was the judge!!M😂
Would you ask the killer to speak up? LOL!
I got a job to do😂
Not because Carol Burnett is my favorite, it's because it's true. The funniest take off of court I've seen
got to love this!!

one of my faves!
What a scream! I won't get her to handle my case! Great comedy!
Imagine that happening on law n order😅
True this was when television was worth watching.
Oh Lord Carol is so dam funny love her she makes a good court reporter so funny
There is a tendency - at least with me - to only view the "The Family" sketches....but tonight, in going through so many clips, I have been reminded of the true genius of Burnett, Korman, Conway and co. Great writing!
I love that “GET OUTTA HERE!” Lmao 😂
Sounds like a NY'er like me.
No one would try to get out of jury duty if trials were like this.
Carol should have been on Perry Mason
This was good.
One Of The Top Skits Ever
I really adore her
Thanks for the video. Great comedy.
Yo! And then the look from Harvey, lmao!
I bet that "Yo" was adlibbed at 1:40 - the reaction was too good.
Pure genius
THE BUTLER DID IT!!!!!
Meanwhile the judge is just sitting there.
one of the funniest one of my faves!
Some of these skits require some pretty fancy chair stunts.
Marlon?!?!?!
One of the best😆🤘
Classic Carol, she's the best...I'd like to see her on SNL
She's too good for SNL.
They won't have her for this reason: When the show first started, they tried not to be like Carol Burnett, with all the laughing during sketches and being very broad.
The best skit ever!
That's was the funniest skit ever!!
my fave skit
Excelenta interpretare!! Good Like! 👏🎆👏🎆👍
I believe him when he says the butler did it.
One problem: He didn't have a butler.
He probably didn't even have a butler.
Marion is so funny 🤣
I want to be a court reporter...

Oh, man. She's so tough on everyone. Judge just sits there without objecting.
Whatever happened to John Byner? He is a funny guy!!
He's still with us. Here's his site:

He did a podcast with Gilbert Gottfried. Check out Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast: www.gilbertpodcast.com/john-byner/
"FIRE AND THEFT INSURANCE?!?" "Yes; I only collected if she burned down during a burglary."

Me, too. And I'm so happy without it.
Me too! And now people are trying to take away good shows like this because “this offends them” and “that offends them”
It was already happening back then - the "it must be true because we keep repeating it" lies about Nixon, as uttered in this sketch.
Pipen did it, pipen good.
"Where did you learn to practice law? THE WHITE HOUSE?!" I lost it!
Probably a reference to Nixon. But that could apply today.
Leave it up to Carol Burnett to take any Situation & make us laugh
Carol Burnett was good!
The butler did it my aunt fanny! When she shakes her hips like Elvis everyone loses it too fun! 😋
Where did you learn to practice law in the Whitehouse! LOL
Everything you ever wanted to say in court, but couldn’t
That sketch was all Byner and Burnett!
John Byner was a great comedian / impressionist
Great!
Guy on the stand would have made a great car salesman, new or used or a great Washington D.C. politician. LOL
As an HR manager, this is my favorite Carol Burnett skit! I live this silinise every day!
6:00 "Where did you learn to practice law, in the White House?" As true today as it was back then. :)
Young people today, you may never see anything funnier.
GET ON WITH IT, I WANT TO GO HOME ALREADY!
Betty White and Carol Burnett absolutely iconic
Betty White was terrible. Always something filthy, or insinuating filth, out of her mouth. A very nasty minded lady.
Oh that was hilarious! 🤣
How could anyone give this a thumbs down? People don't know good comedy when they see it.
In the current age of no longer seeing the thumbs down count, this comment ages tremendously weirdly
That's too funny!!
How the hell did he fall backwards??? 😳😳😳
Actors knew how to do true physical comedy back in the day. Now, they'd have to bring in a stunt man.
Omg...corvid19 ...😬😬😬
Carol Burnett 🤣🤣😂..I can't stop laughing... thanks
How easily the tables turn. 🤣😂🤣😂
John Byner
I think the judge also made an appearance on Mama's Family as a judge.
THE BUTTTTTLEEEEER THE BUTLER DID IT!! THE BUTTTLEEEER I BELIEVED YOU!!!
That's a rap on that one. The prosecution rest. Lol😎
