My friends (along with myself) watched The Carol Burnett show religiously every Saturday night. Though we were in high school and others were out doing crazy things, our Saturday routine was a constant in our lives. We’d gather at someone’s home, make popcorn and ready ourselves for an hour of laughter. When Carol was cancelled, we were beside ourselves and mourned the loss of what we perceived as 60 minutes of pure entertainment and laughter that often led to tears. There will never be another television show like Carol’s. Nothing will come close to this as television today is warped with what you can and cannot say, the woke BS, etc. And that’s a damn shame.
Now that's my kind of party, I'd be in heaven! My favorite actress, Irene Dunne & my favorite actor, James Stewart...what a anniversary celebration!!! 💞

I must admit, I leave mine on old tv sitcoms, old westerns, etc. ✅
@@nickroberts6850 tubi and crackle and freevee apps are good for that. UA-cam, too, right?!
We watch the old tv shows like My Three Sons and Father Knows Best etc…. Old movies from the 30’s and 40’s
The two best. RIP Conway.
I love her so much, the comedy show was awesome. I wish they would bring them back all the old shows. Nothing like them.
I've been able to see the reruns on UA-cam.
Me too, omg so funny. Oxo
Carol can also be seen on Tubi.
"All the old shows" if you're speaking of other shows too, my cable has several channels that run retro tv shows!!
Now that's my kind of party, I'd be in heaven! My favorite actress, Irene Dunne & my favorite actor, James Stewart...what a anniversary celebration!!! 💞
Karenlee I have to tell you, I met Irene Dunne a few months before she passed away in 1990 (I was 19) and I was just as incapable of forming normal sentences as Carol describes here. I'm still in shock that it actually happened.
*an anniversary

How wonderful, I must say I'm a bit jealous (😉). To meet someone as amazing as she was, I would think it would hold its magic throughout the years. Thank you for sharing your story with us, Dana!!! 💐
What an incredible time. I miss it a lot.
Loved the Carol Burnett show. One of the highlights of the 1970s.
So incredible. This is how late night is supposed to be. Just great.
Johnny Carson, Tim Conway and Carol Burnet 3 of the best of the very best!!
I love Tim Conway and Carol Burnett. ❤️❤️
she is a one of a kind talent
I got to meet Jimmy Stewart by attending his church when I moved out to West Hollywood in 1979. I know how Carol feels.
I watched because of Carol Burnett ~ Loved her reflection of the party... Wonderful Thank you 😊
I miss Johnny. When Peter Jennings passed away it was heartbreaking too. We've lost some of the best!
Carol and Tim, two classy acts.
Love how carol laughs at Tim lol.
Why did I tear up when I heard the theme song for Carol ❤
You can't compare what TV was back then that s when talent was great
Growing up with Johnny Carson playing on TV downstairs while I was in bed for school the next day was normal. When Johnny decided to retire from the show, it was an end to an era for me.
If I had a list of people who I would like to meet, Carol would be near the top of the list. I loved the spontaneity of her show. And to see her shoulders begin to shake after Tim would go off script
I always look forward to all the reruns..
Im 66 now, back then, was a much pleasant time in life, not like today...so when I see those reruns, it takes me back to a stress free childhood
