Appreciate your video and advice. I’m in IT operations and want to transition to security but I’m struggling on what to focus or interest to build skills. what would you suggest?
Start by learning about several roles in Cybersecurity to see which ones match with your capablilities and the ones that resonate with your interest - surf the internet, it's free.
the unix guy has a good channel, here are my notes from watching a couple of his videos: UNIXGUY's recommendations... ***blue team level 1 eCTHP splunk core certified power user cysa+ 1) general foundation **security+ certified in cybersecurity (ISC) [CC] **google cybersecurity certificate Three biggest mistakes: too hung up on beginner certs [cnna should not be more than 3 or 4 months of your life!] 2) cyber analyst specialisation [sbt] blue team level 1 --- start using misp, seim, splunk 3) 3rd biggest mistake is waiting too long to apply for jobs! once you've made it to 'blue team' get a job! ...coursera, digital forensics ...blue team level 2 getting distracted is the biggest thing that prevents intermediate from becoming expert, projects resume` builder...
As far as i know, whichever domain you choose in cyber security, you should have fundamental knowledge of Linux, networking. Then you can move on to SOC. I've heard so many times about BTL1 and Cysa+ to good start
@VictorMbogu I studied for the network + and failed it twice. I think alot of the materials I studied stuck with me.then I brushed up on professor messer videos and was good to go.
I would assume the MBA in Cyber Risk Management would be more focused or GRC/Risk Management rather than the MBA in Cybersecurity which may be more technical and it may be more general.

@@ebiyejoshuaagedah4053 with what?
What’s a difference of a MBA in Cyber risk management and a Master in Cybersecurity?
I would assume the MBA in Cyber Risk Management would be more focused or GRC/Risk Management rather than the MBA in Cybersecurity which may be more technical and it may be more general.
Don’t you have to be a hacker to be able to do cyber security?
No, hacking is part of cybersecurity
@@rpstardustx8360 Cool ~ thank you!!
