It’s a common circuit breaker, but most have a metal cover, can replace with a fuse type or a new one, rated 15 amp

I think this is a great video. My comment is about the oil filter. I keep a strap wrench and chain wrench in my bottom junk drawer just for these occasions. They're both pretty cheap. They're both priceless in the right situation.

That is a thermally controlled fuse. It is supposed to make contact until it gets hot. Might be able to make it work again by cleaning the contacts and bending it enough to allow it to make contact.

Late comer to this video but I'm about to attempt a full inspect/repair on my riding lawn mower. This was one of the most concise, thorough video I've come across. I've been searching for repairs with a lot of issues and this mower needed a lot of TLC, but it helped me learn so much. Your editing and coverage was excellent. I was able to follow along and learn so much about small engines. Thanks for the assist!

Future advice if you haven't gotten it yet, the oil filter...
As you see, it's completely collapsed.. if they're stuck on, take a nice big flat screwdriver and drive it right through the filter, from side to side. You now have a giant wrench to twist it off.
    Automotive repair trick.
Use this method with spin ons that are stuck...

Nicely done. Recent subscriber although I have watched a couple of your videos and would like to offer a suggestion er two... lol
The torching thing you do with bringing back the black color on sun faded things is an interesting technique but can I suggest trying a heat gun on them as well as using the heat gun on your stickers when removing them. That way you don't have to clog up that abrasive wheel you used in this video to remove that large sticker decal on the center plate.
Again just a suggestion but overall good work!

Thanks for the tips! I don’t always have electricity where I’m working- just depends. But you’re right, I usually just grab the torch and the wire wheel. But the heat gun works just as well!

Great job, Kyle. Arch’s Garage also really likes Simplicity machines. I have yet to see one here on Cape Cod but I look forward to checking one out when a free one shows up (I’ve only had 4 lawn tractors so far - all free).

one tip i have is to use carb spray instead of starting fluid it has lubricating agents in it to protect the engine, starting fluid will wash the oil off cylinder walls
thanks for your videos i am enjoying them
great find with the missing washers on the starter

After a while I was thinking you might end up ripping out the entire harness and start from scratch!
I really like the idea of headlights that are a switched as opposed to constantly on. Those LED’s are a huge improvement! 👍

Now that I’ve watched a couple more of your videos I’ll have to revise my previous negative comment about the use of music in videos. I get where you’re coming from now - only using music while you’re accomplishing a task which doesn’t require verbal explanation. That makes sense and isn’t really unpleasant, plus it gives you a way to express your creativity.
I would just caution you about the use of any background music when you are talking. If the volume isn’t low enough it’s extremely distracting. Also, if the volume isn’t modulated to match adjoining clips then anyone wearing headphones has to constantly adjust their volume to cope.
Just a couple things to think about. 😉

    • @Kylebythecreek
      @Kylebythecreek  7 місяців тому

I edit my videos with a program called Shot Cut. I use headphones while editing and I always adjust the music volume. However, everyone’s audio set up is different. The scene might sound completely balanced on your set up, while sounding out of balance on someone else’s set up.
I’m not a pro at this, but I’m doing the best I can

Blows my mind how people spend 100s of dollars thousands these days, on mowers and to damn lazy to take care of their stuff. Just leave em outside rain snow. Build a 5x5 shed , ridiculous, obviously their dad's never taught them how to take care of anything. I've got a 2003 troy bilt, 2nd hand, still working.

I like these Simplicity mowers. Pretty solid units. I really like the tough mowing decks and the way they cut. Better than most mtd brands I think.
