As a hobby, I’m a tractor flipper. I mostly work on lawn tractors, but I’ve started working on quads. I'm a Christian, and I try to be a good example of Jesus in everything I do- even my hobby. You won't hear foul language on my channel, or inappropriate jokes, and I won't advertise adult products. I want this channel to be something the whole family can enjoy.
I’m working to grow my channel and produce full length edited content related to small engine repair and resale. I hope you’ll consider subscribing to my channel!
I also started a new channel for all my edited content related to my 60 acres in the Adirondacks of New York. Please subscribe to ‘Kyle by the Lake’ if you like cabins, camping, building, and outdoor power sports!

Testing a 1991 DR Field and Brush Mower on a STEEP HILL
Переглядів 1,8 тис.14 днів тому
A 1991 DR field and Brush mower. Fixing this up so we can mow some tall gras in the Adirondacks. This old brush mower needed some serious tlc- new gas cap, carb work, new drive belt, new spark plug, grease, oil change, and sharpened blades. In this video I get the mower running and I test it out on my really steep hill. It's a serious test for something that's way better off on flat ground! 00:...
Blade safety and easy paint job: 2014 Craftsman T1600 Lawn Tractor
Переглядів 11 тис.28 днів тому
I got this beat up Craftsman T1600 as a trade in from a customer who was buying my 1998 MTD tractor. The previous owner said it just died on them while mowing. It turned out to be a broken blade safety switch. After bypassing the switch it was mostly smooth sailing from there! This mower turned out to be a great example of a max profit "flip". 00:00 Intro 01:38 First look at the 2014 Craftsman ...

Valve Spring removal on a 12.5hp Tecumseh OHV engine
Переглядів 840Місяць тому
1991 12.5 Tecumseh OHV 143.426172 There doesn't seem to be munch info, or many repair videos on this engine. The Flat Head / L Head engines seem more popular than the OHV version. But when I needed to replace the head gasket, I had to learn how to remove the valve springs and the rocker arm housing. I couldn't find any videos about this, so I decided to make my own! I give the "how to" guys a l...
Repairing a Ferris Walk Behind 52 inch Commercial Hydro Lawn Mower
Переглядів 4,2 тис.Місяць тому
I sold a Honda Harmony to a customer who traded in this rough running, oil burning, walk behind mower. The customer told me it was an Exmark 54", but it turns out it is a Ferris 52". No worries! I got this machine sorted out and listed for sale now! The main problem was a bad o-ring in the carb that was blocking a fuel jet. There were lots of other issues too, so enjoy the video! 00:00 Intro 00...
Repairing a batch of broken power equipment: featuring a late 90's Honda Harmony 1011 ride on mower
Переглядів 12 тис.Місяць тому
I've been developing a good relationship with my local power equipment repair shop. They accumulate abandoned equipment throughout the year, and it just takes up space for them. When they get a decent pile, I try to buy it! I bought this haul for $150. After working on all this equipment for months, almost everything came back to life and has become good for resale! The Honda Harmony 1011 is cl...
This 1998 MTD Lawn Tractor gets "The Works!"
Переглядів 23 тис.3 місяці тому
Yard Machines Lawn Tractor by MTD 15.5hp 42" deck I bought this tractor for $20! It ended up having a lot of issues but the biggest problem was the drive belts. I made the mistake of replacing the worn Variable Drive belts with aftermarket belts, and the aftermarket belts did not work properly. I had to spring for the OEM belts from Partstree.com and they worked perfectly. From the refurbished ...

Neglected Husqvarna mower- starts right up!
I somehow missed this when you released it. Some suggestions if I may. Get a Ingersol 235c air impact for all the tough bolts and don't worry about the Ryobi haters, they will always hate unless you use what they want. Also get yourself some welding tip cleaners for the jets, they work better that drill bits and are closer in tolerance. Soak the carb in penetrating oil and tap on it while it's wet with oil several times, if that don't work, make sure you don't have any gas in it and heat it. I have used a heat gun so you don't have an open flame around it, and by using the reducer tip on the heat gun it should concentrate the heat enough to get it out. Just remember it's pot metal so it doesn't have much strength
Ever find the issue with this mower? My tiller had me scrathin my head for days. Darn thing would idle day n night. As soon as u moved it,,, sucker wud shut off. IT WAS THE FUEL CAP!!! 😏
I really enjoyed this video and learned a little bit too!
Is that a gloss black on the deck?
I forget what I used. Could have been gloss black. Usually I use semi glass though
Play the bonds plastic and rubber
Windshield blue
I cut the filters apart and the Walmart ran do the fram
The only difference is the length of filter he's all can be attained at your local Walmart most in the even the Walmart super tech man who is 100 times better than a frame
Or even NFL 400 deaths if you have
For a PA 16 off of
You can use a 3614
Wipe it on live it up😊
Go to the O'Reilly Auto parts buy a gallon of d&w tire black and you won't have to rest blowing yourself over the torch
4000
No you can use them you can use to steal push rods
Have you changed the oil ? If there is oil sludge on the governor parts inside the engine that could cause engine surge ! While typing you got the new carb on and it sounds really good !
Are you sure that is the correct valve cover ! I do not see a crankcase vent tube that would go to the air cleaner !
When these small engines surge it is usually governor related !
...those appear to be shielded bearings, not sealed bearings...
AWESOME......!!
Thank you!
Look it up on the Internet and see how it's all set up
Referring to?
That bolt on the wheel opposite the one with the sprocket acts as a set screw to lock it to the live axle. The wheel with the sprocket has a ratchet system that provides differential action to allow the mower to turn. The bolt on the sleeve that slide forward to engage the blade if used to adjust the belt tension. You have the light duty blade for cutting grass and small brush. There was a much heavier brush blade available for cutting heavier material. It weighs five pounds.
Thank you, that’s very helpful!

I Love your Videos Makes Me Feel More Confident to Work on My Own Stuff NOW !!! Thanks ! WhiteTigerFire.
That’s so awesome to hear! That’s exactly what I’m going for. I’m no expert, but thanks to a community of awesome UA-camrs, I’ve learned enough at least, to fix a bunch of mowers!

Kyle do you follow Musti1
Yes I do! He’s awesome
These mtd tractors really aren't horrible machines.their box store machines.your not getting a kubota.keep the spindles clear of grass change fluids filters.try to find one with a kohler.and it should be a happy 10 year realationship.
I agree!
you mentioned that you want to add a fuel cut off on the gravity feed system, is there a reason you wouldn't or would do a fuel cut off on a fuel pump system ?
Fuel pump systems don’t typically have fuel tanks situated above the carburetor. But all gravity systems do have fuel tanks above the carb. So, in a perfect world I’d put a shut off on each gravity system to prevent fuel flooding. And if you can swing it, go ahead and throw a shut off valve on the fuel pump system too. It won’t hurt one bit, and it’ll even be helpful for servicing the fuel system later down the road
You lied Bro! You prob had a 100, for sure you had 40 but had to go and lie...disappointed .
What’s this in reference to? 100 of what?
Like your channel i have learned a lot from watching it
Thank you!
Kyle I live in Dayton Oregon wish you were in my area your a good guy and very fair on your prices and it looks like your a good Dad
You are too kind! Thanks so much!
I had a 2000 craftsman just like that I restored the whole had it for a while then sold only the one I had was a six speed manual
Nice!
WORK BENCH A MESS YOU GOT TO QUESTION THE QUALITY OF WORK ,ALL THAT REFLECTS IF YOU ARE A PROFFESSIONAL OR NOT JUST WATCHING AND SEEING
Everybody works differently. People even type differently.
WRONG AIR FILTER TO SHORT WILL WORK ITS SELFOUT THAN DUST AND DIRT AND GRASS GET IN ENGINE AND RUIN ENGINE YOU JUST FIXED ATTENTION TO DETAIL NOT THATS JUST FINE ,PEOPLE WATCHING LEARNING BAD HABITS DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME
SHOULD ALWAYS DO COMPRESSION TEST TO BEFORE TAKING THINGS APART AND BLOW AIR ON ENGINE AND THE WHOLE MORE BEFORE TAKING THINGS APART ,STILL WATCHING AND YOUR LEARNING
AND YOUR BENCH NEEDS TO BE CLEARED OF DIRT AND OLD BROKEN PIECES WHEN RE ASSEMBLING STUFF, IM WATCHING AND YOUR LEARNING
YOU CAN LEARN FROM OPINIONS THE RIGHT WAY IS TO SET ENGINE ON COMPRESSION STROKE THATS WHAT YOU WANT BECAUSE BOTH VALVES ARE CLOSED AND CHECK CLEARANCE MOST IMPORTANT THATS THE PROPER WAY NOT ANY OTHER WAY BECAUSE VALVES CAN BE SET WRONG THAT OTHER WAY, DONT CARE ABOUT VALVE CLEARANCE IN ANY OTHER CYCLE EXCEPT COMPRESSION CYCLE ,LOTS TO LEARN ,
Que medidas tem as rodas e pneus dianteiros. Referencia??? Obrigado.
I believe tractordata.com will have that info. I could try to report back to you when I get home to double check. But they are standard tire dimensions for lt1000’s I believe
just compare that machine to todays machine. No access to anything and lots more plastic to break
I'v used an auto brake shoe spring tool on those springs down there much more easer to struggle with when getting them on or off
btw / Fyi I've been meaning to tell other on here on those leaky tubeless tire beads to use some type of Permatex Thread Sealant liquid tape on the tire Beeding before re-setting the tire side beading as it will seal it much better and when you put it in water to find and bubbling you just tap it with a hammer to stop it as a few old rims that were major leakers and use it the type I used were also meant for gas line threads so it was allot more sticky so have on some deposable rubber gloves too LOL
I have the signature 2000 Montgomery wards version of this mower its relabeled but its Mtd too its the 14.5 hp 42inch deck only thing beside the motor size here Is that I haven't seen the Seven speed shifter on either sides of it.. this model isn't as common unless its located somewhere around the center just below the seat or something.. also you can probably find that center missing panel as I have the same one on my mower there a common part
hello. i have a problem when i drive slow, quad is jumping, when i drive fast its almost stop jumping. But when i release the throttle then stops jumping. do you have any idea what could this be? i have suzuki king quad 300 1995
Hi. I don’t know, sorry
Kyle I fixed that cub it was the shoulder spacer on it it turns amazing but there is a loud whine from the transaxle I topped it off still there any ideas?
Not sure
Hi,Kyle I have the earlier version of that D R brush cutter, it's called the Bachtold Whipper. Mine was made in the early 70s I believe. It works excellent every year I need it. DR definitely made some changes since mine was produced. Mine has a bigger engine, a clutched pulley on top of the drive shaft to the blade, A big rotating disk to protect the blade area. I've cut down small 1.5" trees with that thing it just rips. Mine will never be for sale. It works perfect.
The collar above the blade on my Bachtold brush cutter is to Hold the rotating disk up above the blade. Where yours doesn't have the rotating disk to keep from cutting too big of tree or brush. And i'm pretty sure if they didn't change everything that the nut holding the blade on is left hand thread. I'll be watching.
Nice job. Glad to see your battery was still good and you didn't even have to touch the carburetor, that's a big time score also noticed you have a Fluke Multimeter, that's a good quality tool. I am still putting together my 23-year-old Yard Machine that I took apart repaired and painted. I'll be watching.
Thank you very much for watching!
