@@jbar260d2 Actually I didn't know Kenny and Jorge were actual Julian's Trio. But if you say so, I guess yeah it could be seen that way yeah. Julian Lage Trio w/ Guest John Zorn? But I understand they are playing Masada's material, right?
@@jbar260d2 lol my thoughts exactly. Always that bassist. Sometimes different drummer. Forgive me for not knowing names. But I saw this exact trio on Julian's current tour. This is just with Zorn added
@@jbar260d2 Kenny's been working with Zorn since the 90s. And afaik, Jorge and Kenny never worked together with Julian until after New Masada Quartet was already a thing, and even then I think Kenny was just subbing for Dave King.
Just bought my tickets for his 70th birthday celebration. 26 year old who’s heavily influenced by his philosophies. Got the Friday pass and seeing Cobra and New Electric Masada for Sunday. It feels surreal. Never thought I would be able to see my number 1 inspiration in music in person, yet see him in California.
There was never a real reason to wear covid masks, and it is really preposterous to wear in on stage, since concerts like this were not allowed in times of lockdowns or high infection rates.
Wow, imagine listening to this great music and all you can comment on is masking. Masks work, that’s why doctors, nurses etc.. wear them. Plenty of studies that demonstrate masks do act as a barrier to Covid (and other disease) as carried on droplets. Even if it’s a minor advantage why does it bother you so much? I hope it continues to infuriate you and you lose sleep over it.

Julian Lage is the new guitarist in John Zorn's Masada? Wow....Great choice.
lol its Julians band plus Zorn really, when it's Kenny and Jorge right?

So incredible. I'm glad that John is keeping Masada alive even after finishing it with Book 3 (Beriah)
Zorn is a genius...
Great upload. Love to see Julian playing the Masada book
Thank you for sharing this! It was a great show!

I thought John retired from playing concerts? This is great news!! Masada forever!
What? I hope that’s not true 😢
I was at his retirement tour in Rome in 2014. But obviously not true any more :D
