Many thx for sharing and wish you both well on your journeys,,im too decided to adventure out for 12months as its on my bucket list for awhile now as also i have already placed an order with purchasing the ALPHA & 270XT AWNING from bushranger here in oz,,i luv the product cause i believe its quality but theres one fault i dont really like with the alpha besides the mattress (well that you can overcome that 1 as shown thankyou) is the inside switch were you turn the interior light on and off,,,the light itself is fine and positioned well but they should of made a on and off switch beside were you sleep instead off getting up to turn it off and on all the time,,,doesnt make sense having done the way they did ,,i dont think it was thought out well considering its a top $ tent,,i am getting my auto elec to make a switch in the middle were my wife and i sleep ..that way when getting up to go to the bathroom when nature calls it would be hell of alot more convienent ,,,its simple and its smarter,,,just thought i share that one,,, anyways stay safe and keep well my friend
Really thoughtful review with lots of great details. That is an incredible setup. Are you happy with your springs now that you have the full build out weight? I’m deciding this week what spring load rating to use our GX so would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for watching, really appreciate it! Yeah now that we have all the weight, the heavy springs aren't nearly as stiff. It's still not a stock ride by any means, but I actually like it. Still feels solid on highway corners and on the trails even with the extra weight up to as well.

Just wondering what those guy wires are which come up from your front bar? Are they to deflect branches up and over tent?
Yeah, they help tree branched pass up and over the hood, windshield and tent.
Good review and a question about your tent awning rods. They seem to be bent to fit over the truck awning, did you do that or buy different ones? I have the same setup and mounting the awning now, so wondering if I have to bent them to fit also.
I believe Bush Company makes two styles, one if you have the awning and one if you don’t. If you have two straight rods then you may need to bend one to fit it around the awning. To be honest though, I’m not happy with the rods that I have. They don’t hold the tent awning tight enough so it flaps around really loudly in the slightest breeze. I have the tent awning removed because of it so I can sleep and I only put it on if I know it’s going to rain hard.
Thanks for your review, I am looking at this setup as an upgrade to my present setup. I also have an exped mattress in my RTT and it is great for comfort and set up and pull down convenience. Mattresses in RRT are all far too thin to give any comfort so an exped can sort that problem out. Do you have the 4" or 6" model?

Wow great video. Question, does it get sketchy at all with all the weight between the tent, awning and platform while you’re driving? Any issues with off camber tracks etc? Cheers
Haven’t had any issues with the weight in terms of balance or anything like that. We don’t do anything too crazy in terms of technical tracks. Now gas mileage on the other hand…

Y'all ever have any condensation issues in the tent?
So far only one night when it was super cold and we didn’t crack anything open for ventilation.

Yeah I believe they are the primary Bush Company distributor in the US. That’s where we bought our tent and awning and they installed it for us as well. Rex and Tabitha are very nice people. I’m sure they could give you a shipping quote as well.
