Pro tip- when it's raining use some rope to tilt the awning canvas just right so you can collect the rain water! Done this many times- nothing beats rain water! 💙
When you bought this car, I have no idea it's gonna be this amazing. Wow love the way everything can expand that reminded me of a ladybug, small, complex and when spread the wings....wowweeee!
May be worth getting some 3mm wet suit material stubby holder style wraps for every 2nd glass storage bottle up to to prevent sudden impacts...great simple and totally efficient base...hope your enjoying the new chapter.
Gday Harry! Still absolutely love it! We will probably bring out a video in another couple of months but it's held up super well in the wind and doesn't get too damp as long as we make sure to air it out haha
@@KendallandGlenn thanks guys for the feed back , I guess slight dampness an condensation is part of camp life no matter what form of sleeping arrangement you have weather it be swag, tent , rtt.. anywho glad your liking the set up , just looking through various rtt set ups an what company to go with . If you havnt an get some spare time pop up to Waterhouse point , lovely area an some great diving , camping an waves if you get it in the right conditions , keep safe an catch you out there guys 🙏🏼🤙🏼
Awesome video! Thankyou for sharing. My partner and I have just purchased the same tent for the exact same reason (surfboards) I'd love to see a closer look at how you've actually gone about tieing your surfboards down? Are you using the bush company roof racks or some sort of custom solution? Thanks!
That's great Robert! We have the 3 Bush Company load bars on top and just tie them normally to them however I'm thinking of attaching some O loops to make it a little easier but for now it's been great! I just climb up on top and tie them that way as I imagine it would be pretty hard to do without climbing on top haha
In the other video, you can see there is a storage compartment under the cushion that is used as a back rest that they currently have the tent wall in.
Hey, hope you are both are enjoying the east coast and time with family! 😊 I was wondering now that you have had the Bush Company RTT for a while now, hows it fairing? Any condensation issues? That seems to be the biggest talking point with RTTs 😅 Thanks! 😊🐾
Hey!! Ahh yes, we’re actually going to do a full video on our RTT, awning etc now that we’ve had them for a year so we’ll go into a lot of detail in that but overall we LOVE it. Condensation can happen if the window screens are up all the way but it’s just something you have to be aware of, so if we notice condensation when we wake up we’ll try to air it out in the morning before packing up. Of course that isn’t always possible so sometimes we just have to cop it but usually we just get in a habit of putting the tent up and opening all the windows in it right when we get to camp so it’s aired out. But again we only have that issue if we sleep with the screen covers all the way up which is quite rare! Hope that helps 😊
Honestly we don't miss the van set up. We miss Vance, but that's more because of the memories we got to have with him. Literally the only thing I think I miss from our previous set up is the big Yeti cool box we used as a storage box/bench seat. It was so handy!
Looks awesome! I currently have a van myself and am contemplating selling to upgrade to a 4x4 and roof top tent. Do you miss Vance or vanlife in general? Any regrets going to a 4x4 over vanlife? How do you find sleeping in a roof top tent compared to inside a van? Thanks legends!
@ Bailey Lewis. I have had 4 different vans/motorhomes over the years. I now have a 4x4 Defender 110 which I use for road trips around the UK and Europe. It's fitted out as a very basic camper. I wouldn't swap it any other vehicle.
Eva had a similiar rig, put a rooftop tent on, and then switched to an interior push up top like Vangons have. ua-cam.com/video/51K0IL5xOS0/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/JCm7FZOBXbU/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/yXg2NTSKH2A/v-deo.html

Excellent bit of kit.
Thanks for showing us how it all works.
Looking forward to seeing how it holds up in the coming months/years.

AWESOME DIY Fly screens all round to give yourself a bug free environment when you get into sketchy areas.
The Bush Company awnings are great quality. I have a 270 and it is amazing for rain protection and sun shade.
You two are the coolest people I know on you tube! Your minimalist home is dreamy and beautiful!🙏🇨🇦❤️🌈🌎🦋🌺🛹🏄♀️
Nice setup! I love that awning! Will be interested in what you think of the rooftop tent in 6 months.

Great review.. thank you!
Glad to hear you are happy with your new set up all your hard work was worth it you did well
Hey legend
Any updates on what you think of the tent , how’s it hold up in wind and many issues with condensation as such , cheers guys

@Kendall and Glenn thanks for the reply. I'm thinking of trying the O loops too. Good luck!
Loving your setup, what do you do with your pillows and blankets. Do they stay in the rooftop. Cheers.
Yep they all stay up top when we pack it away, it's so good!
Excellent information and set up.
Fantastic video Conor have explained it better than the sales guy happy travels were you off to next
Do you store the wall inside the bag that holds the awning when it’s put away?

Amazing set up! Does the roof top lock into place once it’s up? And how do you pull it down? ☺️✨
Yes it does, it has super heavy duty gas struts that hold it up, and then I just manually pull it down to pack it away :)
What do you miss from the previous set up (Vance)?

Certainly seems to be a great roof top tent.

How much weight on that poor old Series roof???
Epic!
Where is Leo sleeping now 🤙
Glenn mentioned in the other video that Leo sleeps in the cabin below the tent.
