Yous wuz busy busy...enjoyed the video thank you once again. It was great to see the cast off of Kim's left arm and she tested it by pushing open the hangar door no less. Nice recovery from that dip in the runway Kris. They need to get that fixed...lol, Kris good reflexes too!
There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots, but there are no old, bold pilots. Add this to your collection of sayings. Super enjoyable channel. Thanks, John.
Don't beat yourself about the landing. You responded quickly and appropriately to bring it all under control. If you only ever experienced 'perfect' landings, then how would you respond when things go sideways? Keep sending the videos, they are great!
Of course the weather is always nicer when the NTSB arrives ... because it'll be 3 years later! Could be an ice age by then. :D I just got my paramotor all set up to send it ... then I hear thunder and see cumulus. The storm was moving a bit faster than expected. DRAT! It was beautiful prior to that. It's beautiful again, but everything's wet! The forces of nature don't want me up there, lol! Great stuff Kris & Kim - good to see ya! I've been slackin' on the vids. Not enough hours in the day unfortunately. I need to make hours!! :)
Very glad to see Kim’s arm is all healed up, and doing better. Kim, have you gotten started on your ppl? Great video as always. This shows how important the decision making process is when your in the air.
Great video as always. Good reminder for us that deviations are always an option as is adding power or going around, good catch Kim my wife says I’m the master of go around. 👍
You might not be happy with your landing but, as every pilot knows - any landing you can walk away from is a good one and any landing where you can use the plane again is a great one. Another great vid Kris & Kim.
Anytime you fly, land, and can reuse the airplane, it’s a good landing! I thought you did a great job. Takes me back to my solo, where on the first landing, I bounced three times. My instructor reminded me that only counted as one landing.
Kim, I'm so glad that #FlyingSIC has her wing all healed! I'm sure 3175W missed all the pre-flight smooches. Kris, it's great to have The Team back in the air! Keep Kim away from those dangerous OneWheels... Oh and NICE LANDING (the second one, anyway...) 😉
Kim, great job on comms, just don’t talk too fast. You’ve learned from an auctioneer, and best radio coms are slow and clear, when you rush, you miss stuff or make errors.
In my experience, 14 years in towers and Radar Approach Controls, I LOVED IFR DAYS!!! Less traffic, and all was controlled...just sayin. I ALSO LOVED VFR DAYS ... More traffic and more complex. I also loved when the radar went out...I know, I'm twisted.
Great video, patience is a virtue, great lesson. I learned that the NTSB doesn't fly in bad weather and your tongue in the first and second landing is interesting. Sorry you will miss OSH.
Hey Kris you are too hard to yourself. From the left wing camera it doesn't look so bad, and your reaction to it was absolutely on spot and safe, well done. Love the airplane cover/tarp. Love how Kim kept quiet and let you concentrate on your final approach and landing in St. Augustine too. Greetings from St. Augustin (EDKB) Germany (no joke 😉) Andy.
Just wondering why you discussed a "step down" approach while you were talking about and on an ILS . Just curious. Incidentally we all have had "questionable" landings. They all can't be "greasers"!! :-)
Hey, don’t be so hard on yourself! Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing! Alternatively you could do a Buzz Lightyear! Crash with style!
New Look. Good Team. Pilot is in sync with Experienced Passenger. Like it. Need to see an airshow fly in. LOL You haven't had your worse landing, still alive. Love seeing after landing.
For example if you are already flying east on a 090 heading and ATC asks got you to turn to 070. If you was to make a right hand turn it would be almost a complete 360.I hope this helps you and Kris may still chime in later 😁
I guess this was shot after Kim got her arm out of the cast? I hope she's doing well. I was always told that any landing you can walk away from is a good one. It's a great one if you can use the airplane again! LOL
We’ve all bounced a landing. Been mad at ourselves. Finished it. Learned from it. Became better pilots as a result. No doubt you would have executed a go around if you had to. Thanks for the share!
Love your videos-I fly the same B55-question you were cleared for the RNAV 29 but you reported to tower that you were cleared for the visual-does this matter?
I don't like going around. In fact, in 15 years I can count on 1 hand how many times I've gone around. I just do what it takes to save a bad landing. Thankfully, they are very rare.
@@frankpoynter6350Difference of opinion. I didn't say there was anything wrong with a go around. I just don't like doing them. I'd rather just adjust and land the plane. Practice instrument approaches are different. I would rather just make an approach where I don't have to go around. I'm a good pilot.
That wasn’t a bad landing considering. I think adding power saved you from a bigger smash the second time around. It was a good choice to land with approach flaps; and I the problem was your approach speed over the numbers was a lot faster than it should’ve been even for approach flaps setting. At least that’s what it looked like on the video.
Here is my one stupid question of the day! When asking air control your run up info can you ask for them to say it slow and not 100 m/hr so you get it right the first time so there is no miss communication? Or is that too annoying? ...... ok that's 2 but I am using up tommorrow's question!!!
You can ask them and they will. It’s a bad habit many of us in aviation pick up. Speaking faster in a crowded radio frequency. You will also find that as you learn what to expect it becomes much easier to understand what they are saying.
Every landing that gets you to the hanger safe with no damage to the plane is a GOOD landing. Just saying. The way the weather looked, I think you did the right thing by putter her down the first time.
Traffic patterns have planes going downwind (opposite direction). You don’t want to drift into their ‘lane’. Some airports will have skydivers with designated landing areas; you don’t want to drift into their space. Taxiways may be used by helicopters for take-off and landing…so you don’t want to drift into their ‘lanes’. At towered airports, they may say ‘fly runway heading’, which means you fly the heading…and don’t correct for drift. Always feels wrong to me not to correct for drift…
Hey Gregg to you know anyone that will ferry a couple from the Miami area after a cruise up to the Villages area like an Uber instead of doing the two airport things then the shuttle.

Interesting flight, also glad to see Kim's arm finally freed.
I really appreciate pilots who show their not so perfect landings. Great job adding a little power after the bounce.

Hey Kim it look's like your arm has healed up! Loved the BOUNCE, GREAT RECOVERY MATEY!
Yea that weather was nasty! Great landing Kris in St Augustine
sorry it did not work out with this young lady as i enjoyed so many flights with you and kim. best wishes for you you both. .

It reminds me how I’m guaranteed to bounce! Anticipation is stressful!
3 bounces = 1 landing. I like that! 😅😂
It still cracks me up that you actually stick your tongue out and to one side when you land!! Great job on blipping the power to smooth it out.
The tongue action keeps the plane level🤣

I've seen way worse landings, don't be so hard on yourself. Great recovery by a Veteran Aviator! Well done my friends.
At first I thought Kim's shirt said "Stay Insured" because the shoulder harness was blocking part of it! Lol!😄😎👍
THIS IS HILARIOUS!🤣🤣🤣

I have to say… Installing the AXP340s, the IFD550 and IFD540 in my C441 was a bad mistake.
On departing FXE, you pointed out that you were 'crabbing' to stay on centerline. Are there numerous reasons for that?
