OMG the rs6 wagon is my ultimate dream car, and for all the reasons you listed. Was so nice to hear someone who gets it. I also love buying damaged cars, fixing and reselling so it made this video like the perfect storm. Cant wait to go watch what happens to it next, keep up the great work.
Those are pre-facelift headlights, but they are full LED and require different plugs and coding to work, and you might need additional modules on the car to make it work, depending on what cameras they utilize for the automatic high beams. Kufatec in Germany can sell you the components and give you the coding to make it work.
Thank you :D Exactly this. These are non Matrix LED of prefacelift. Honestly if you already changing these I would go for facelift Matrix LED including the new modules. However I don't know the price difference of both. These old Xenons should be fairly the cheapest way to go
The new headlights you fitted are still for a pre facelift, difference is you now gone from xenon to led. With requires new plugs, extra wiring and other modules

It's taken me like 8 months so far fixing similar damage (no airbag or windscreen dmg though) alongside other stuff. 😅 Definitely heaps of work, depending a lot on how much you buy parts vs. fixing them and painting (oh boy).

Glad that they mentioned retaining the air on gas, yes it’s a pain to get it recharged, but it should be recovered properly if it’s removed, some of the air con gas HCFC are 2000 times more damaging than CO2 so small amounts do make a difference….they are also expensive…keep up the videos Mat you are inspirational.
The light situation is a bit messy with the C7/7.5… those you ordered are the pre-facelift full-led lights (they were the first full-led lights in 2011), which do however require different wiring, same with the actual facelift lights. For the rear you can rewire the lights from the facelift if you prefer them, it’s not that difficult of a job. Good luck with the awesome build!
I think you need to click the wheel change option in the dash Matt, to stop the air bags inflating as you lift it up, you normally put it in this setting when changing a wheel
An RS6 is still number 1 on my bucketlist, since i was 9 and saw (and heard) it for the first time in Munich. Throughout the generations of the RS6 they just became more and more beautiful (imo).
Matt, those are not facelift headlights. Those are optional pre facelift matrix led headlights. And you should definitely use jackmode, otherwise suspension will let all the air out when jacked. Stocked for the rs6 build!

Mat, you three are legends! I have to tell you how you gave this 48 year old Mom of 2 teenage boys, "street cred"..... My son is wanting to update his stock BMX bike for his birthday in a couple weeks. It'll be his very first project of the sort. He gave me a list of things he wanted (New forks, wheels, tires, handlebar, grips, pedals, seat and custom paint job) and said "I know you don't know much about cars or bikes, so here's my list, but don't order anything without me checking to make sure they're right!" I started to laugh and told him "You do know that I lived a whole life before you right? I used to buy cars and modify them, put new custom wheels and tires on them, do custom paint jobs, and put amazing stereos in them! I've had so many cars I can't keep track of them all!" He looked at me and asked to see pictures and was shocked at the sheer amount of cars that I owned. I then showed him your channel and told him how I watch you weekly, along with a few others that rebuild cars, and others that do custom painting. He looked at me like I was someone he had never seen before! I suddenly was a cooler Mom just by him seeing you were a BMX rider AND rebuilt awesome cars. I've been with you since you had about 100k followers and I've loved watching you grow to where you are today. Congrats !!! You got lucky and it was an easy fix. My opinion is when you see a fender pushed into a door, DO NOT try to OPEN the door, that ding in the A pillar was caused by you forcing the door open then forcing it closed. Now you have extra body work to do
You could get the plug for the facelift headlight from either a crash damaged car or a few aftermarket stores, after which all you’ve got to do is cut the wires from the old ones and re-wire them with the new plug. I did the same for my RS6 here in India as I got aftermarket headlight. You could also get the headlight plug from some aftermarket plug and play kits.
The headlights he has are actually out of a pre facelift RS6/A6/S6. For the ore faclift there were the normal base headlights and full LED headlights. He bought full LED pre facelift lights. However you still are right about getting a new plug or even an adapter harness
Loving the Audi restomod stuff! From bitter experience with a 1995 UrA6 I know that even what the workshop manual & parts catalogue says is often wrong. Then there is the fact it’s so well screwed together, there are usually clips held in by screws and screws held in by screws (probably exaggerating) But the best is the pneumatic line system on the old ones like a lego technic JCB set x 1000 or as one mechanic mate put it “Repairing an old Audi is like trying to fix a Swiss watch with a spanner” 😂

You are so blessed, that you can buy a car for "cheap", and than turn it back to fresh.. It's fantastic, and i'm happy for you that you can make your dream a reality. You deserve it, looking at all the work and effort you put into this car.
When it comes to the headlights I had the C7 platform for my Audi S6 and I personally didn't buy one unless it had the LED headlights. They make a massive difference! Looks alone are 10000x better but in terms of visibly at night is NIGHT & DAY. The ones that came with yours are dull and yellow and the LED have the crisp white light and turn with you to brighten your peripheral when you turn. They're not an updated version to a later model they came with that option from standard or upgrading to those LED's.
Brilliant Mat, your channel is so much better than most as you just get the job done, no woffle about what you plan to do and you have the parts ready to go. Good job.

You might be missing the whole point of Matt’s channel. He takes badly crashed or written off cars and restores them to his design not Audi’s design. Personally I love the stories, fun and friendship. When I want a lift, it’s my go to channel. Keep up the amazing work Matt!!
Matt, I have a 2016 C7.5 RS6 (Facelift) - I'm in Nottingham. You have the front end of a 'performance' model C7.5 there, - you can tell that due to the side inlays being silver - it was literally called 'performance'. However, Main changes from C7 (yours) to C7.5 (£5k bundle) are front headlights, laminated side windows (noise from C7 was significant) and a remap to 600bhp.
I love these kind of videos, quick repairs and then all the crazy mods, loving the addition of Chris & Dad to the vids. Can’t wait to see the finished version 🙌
Check the suspension level sensors. Make sure someone didn’t put adjustable arms in it or something to make the car sit lower by fooling the suspension module
Both of these Headlights are pre Facelift. The difference is the lights you bought from the complete front end are LED and the older lookings are Xenon. In order to make them work you need additional modules and other coding

Great videos I did a BMW E36 years ago. Bought from a scrap yard someone had slid into a kerb and broke the bk wishbone but the scrap yard replaced it before selling. First time I took it out a run i got it up to speed to see what it could do and just herd bang blew the diff there had been no oil in diff but just replaced diff. Was brilliant car drove it for years. Sold it to my brother in law and he fecked it so when he scrapped it I kept the momo steering wheel and strut brace and I’ve still have
You'll need to replace and reprogram the SDM/SIR (the airbag module) during a crash event the module unloads it capacitors rendering the module useless. That will take care of those airbag codes assuming the harnesses weren't damaged during deployment.

Mat's adventures in headlight replacement continues, you have the worst luck with replacing headlights but the build is off to a great start.
Check the suspension level sensors. Make sure someone didn’t put adjustable arms in it or something to make the car sit lower by fooling the suspension module
Dude u should rebuild a wrecked Honda fit/jazz and put a sick body kit on it!! IT WOULD LOOK SICK
Both of these Headlights are pre Facelift. The difference is the lights you bought from the complete front end are LED and the older lookings are Xenon. In order to make them work you need additional modules and other coding

Great videos I did a BMW E36 years ago. Bought from a scrap yard someone had slid into a kerb and broke the bk wishbone but the scrap yard replaced it before selling. First time I took it out a run i got it up to speed to see what it could do and just herd bang blew the diff there had been no oil in diff but just replaced diff. Was brilliant car drove it for years. Sold it to my brother in law and he fecked it so when he scrapped it I kept the momo steering wheel and strut brace and I’ve still have

You'll need to replace and reprogram the SDM/SIR (the airbag module) during a crash event the module unloads it capacitors rendering the module useless. That will take care of those airbag codes assuming the harnesses weren't damaged during deployment.
