  • OPEN ME!: I had to get a colonoscopy and an endoscopy to try to figure out why my IBS symptoms were getting worse. So of course I vlogged the whole prep and shared what the experience was like. If you're about to get one of these procedures, I hope this helps! :)

I’m praying for a good report! I’m 53 and way overdue to get one done. I deal with anxiety and panic attacks, which is why I haven’t done it yet, but you’ve helped to ease my mind a bit. ❤

Please do it! It was so much less scary than I thought. Having a good doctor and team made the difference I think. They really put me at ease.

Well done! Thanks for sharing as always. Looks like you managed pretty well through the whole thing. I can relate to the panic attack. You are right about facing it and getting through. Each time we do that it builds our confidence that we can handle this crazy life. I’m excited to hear what you’re up to next. Take care.💐

The anxiety was the worst part. Next time will be a million times easier. :)

    You got Midazolam and Fentanyl.
I got Propofol and got sent to the phantom zone without even knowing.

Yeah, I know Fentanyl was one, they listed them so quickly I couldn't remember the second one. They were very effective!

Hi, Andrea! I thought I had IBS, too, (common with ME/CFS, which I have), but I finally went to see a gastroenterologist, because things were getting worse. I had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy in late March. No polyps, but my doctor did 4 biopsies, and we discovered that I have Celiac Disease! I had no clue! Anyway, the prep was hard for me, because the solution made me feel so sick! Like you, I didn't put in the flavoring packet, and I'm glad I didn't. I managed to get it all down, but I couldn't stomach anything else at all except some water. Getting up in the middle of the night was tough, too. By the time I got to my appointment, I was a shaking mess (not due to anxiety) and could hardly stand up. Fortunately, I recovered just fine after it was all over. I'm glad you are getting some help. Too many doctors diagnose IBS, without actually ruling out more serious things.

Yeah, I’m so glad I’m going through this process. Thankfully I don’t have celiac but I’m sure that was a huge moment for you. Knowing that changes so much. Hopefully now that you know you’re feeling better.

I'm truly thankful for you documenting / sharing this ... I've had friends / co-workers / a neighbor who've had to do this 'but' I've never asked them 'how all this works' / what it's like ~
Gotta give you credit : ) I'm a ''sipper'' & normally never drink 1 full cup of anything, ever / all at once ! I don't think I'd be 'good' at that part : (
Yes, sounds like you were in Really Good Care !! Happy for you, for that ! & again, Thanks for sharing & yes, I made it 2 the end : )

I really hope this vlog helps someone who needs to get either of these procedures done. The anxiety of not knowing was really way worse than the actual experience. :)

Sooooo, ok, my UA-cam stopped showing you in my 'hey wanna watch this?' so my ADD brain forgot to check.
I had the exact same procedure in January. The prep is really the worst of the whole thing, really. I'm still in the middle of getting diagnosed with Fibro (she's very sure it is what I'm suffering from but it remains a diagnosis of exclusion where I'm at)so she wanted to check if I had IBS or even Crohn's, which I have neither.
The hardest part of drinking that was that I didn't chose whether I put the flavour in. It came with 'berry taste' and the viscosity, beurk.

The prep was the worst, but now that I know what to expect it won't be so bad next time. I really hope you can get your diagnosis. The process of elimination to get to fibro is so frustrating.

Aww, I'm sorry. It really is worth it to rule things out. And it wasn't nearly as bad as I was afraid it would be.
