They’ll never change it. PD want to be “Inclusive”. That’s why they ban no one for bad behaviour, but ban drivers for venting their frustration with other drivers in chat. PD need to start manning up!

As a low DR A driver with no hope of qualifying, I couldn't agree more about you about the lack of time slots and heavy damage in GT1. Having just recently graduated to GT1 from GT2, I have to say that really miss the mix of Gr.3 and Gr.4 cars in the Manu Cup, too. I feel it made the selection of manufacturer much more interesting when you had to consider the characteristics of two cars instead of just one.
My personal issue with the Manufacturers series is that the BoP is not given nearly enough attention to make all the brands competitive. Obviously the partners are given special attention and I completely understand that, but certain brands are an absolute lost cause. If PD keeps the philosophy of "old cars don't receive BoP updates" then what is even the point of including them as a options?
The point is to please nutcases like me who like picking slow cars. 😋

Some great points and ideas there, which you've been through in some detail in the past on GTS especially regarding the points but PD don't seem to want to listen and / or don't care !
I would say since FIA haven't been involved since GTWS days these championships have been lack lustre and it comes across as being lazy, not caring and unprofessional imo, we get copy n paste combos in Nations, and in manufacturers you shouldn't be able to alternate between different cars within a given manufacturer, you shouldn't be able to use all the assists either and as I've mentioned many times PD need to publish any BOP changes especially before a GTWS and not leave it to a third party website ( which do a great job btw) because not everyone is aware of such a site!
I've realised that no matter what anyone says, PD come across as "our way or the highway" and don't seem interested in taking on board any ideas, there's no community feedback or interaction with players, not even what do you think about this or that, not even a questionnaire on any live event, feedback on the GT1,2,3 or the slot amounts, there's literally zero engagement with fans of GT who have been here since the beginning, all the players that put vast amounts of hours to not even qualify!
It's shocking tbh.
The Esport idea was good and I agree on your point about top split that aren't old enough shouldn't be competing taking away points from those who are eligible, it has the same effect as someone double accounting which is against the regulations - the irony 😂

Coming from a mid to high B driver, I had what I believe had to have been an A+ driver in a daily race lobby last week as he was CLEARLY qualified for a top split time, almost 2 seconds faster than any other B driver in that lobby and he was listed as a B driver... 🤨
It's always based on SR rating first, then DR rating.
Braking super early lap one with heavy damage is soul crushing.
Really constructive and well thought out video Tidge. Some stuff I knew but you highlighted a couple of issues I hadn't thought of! While watching I was thinking how can you sort out so many problems in one go but you have the answer, the Esport league and single time shot would be the perfect solution in my opinion. I would also like to do the races but I play sport and train on Wednesday evenings so if there was earlier slots I could race, as it is I've missed nearly every round and that in turn makes me feel like whats the point of doing the 1 or 2 rounds I can actually do so it is demoralising! I hope PD watch this and see the best solution I have heard for these issues and also I would love to watch the Esport split so again great ideas. Thanks for getting this video out there Tidge, lets hope they listen.

Let's talk about how PD has been completely dormant. The update we've been getting are sparce and scarce, like minimum effort. Let's talk about how GT7 needs a complete revamp of the online lobbies to start, apart from the obvious modern road and race cars, new real tracks and to walk away from the PS4 and the GT Sport physics...
Yes, this is true. We are in 2024 and still race 2010's cars. And what about some TC cars to replace the none existing VGT FF's? Like the Veloster and Z370 and even a Mini.
I've stopped doing GTWS specifically because of the heavy damage - I didn't get a single undamaged race since its introduction, so got fed up of wasting my time practicing, just for the one race in the only time slot I could do being ruined by other people's mistakes.
I really like that first suggestion of having an esports-only time slot, even though I'll never even sniff that.
As always, Tidge, great "Dear Gran Turismo" video. I absolutely love your point system - that's truly genius. The qualifier issues are just common sense - its almost like that should be its own session to make sure its fair for all players. Heavy Damage is their terrible way of dealing with a poor penalty system - we can't fix that so we'll penalize hitting in a way that hurts more than one player. As for time slots, they really do need to be expanded (for GT1) and then specialized based upon their purpose (regional GTWS qualifying event or other). I race in GTWS for the fun competition with like-skilled players and for the moola, not for regional qualification.
Interesting opinions Tidge. I do agree with most of what you say and the points spreadsheet should definitely be taken on board by PD. I feel that PD could be more attached to their fans/gamers/racers - pick your term - and possibly have X(twitter) polls to maybe point them in the right direction for many events. PD definitely need to split the GT1 league to a esports league and a casual league. When you sign up you either sign up for esports or casual league and then that you locked in. Esports id definitely move to a one shot race. Casual GT1 league give us 5/6 slots that start at midday and run too late.
Nations this year was pathetic. I only did 2 races and somehow finished in the top 1500 of the EMEA region and I’m just barely a A driver.
Points system is a joke! Do way should a split 2/3 or 4 be getting more points then P6 in split 1. I hate that GTWS drivers publicly acknowledge they are dropping DR to get split 2 for a win. Make the points system fixed and also rather than 3/6 rounds, make it 5/6 rounds! I.e if your in split 1 then the total is 600 across all rounds. This stops people who have qualified from not entering the last rounds and keeps all drivers pushing on to the end.
Heavy damage. PD need to fix the crash physics for heavy damage to work properly. I’d rather PD got rid of ghosting first. Too many people really on ghosting so they just floor it. Remove ghosting and this then prompts drivers to slow down. Would improve driving standards in my opinion
PD needs to start listening to us consumers. I’ve seen a lot top GTWS drivers moving to PC, like the majority of us. Once I get a gaming PC I can’t see myself playing GT7 or GT8 which is sad as it’s an excellent console game.

Many of your arguments are spot on. the biggest thing for me are the time slots, one week I work the early shift (6 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and the next week the late shift (2 p.m. to 10 p.m.) which makes it impossible to participate in one of these races in the week of the late shift.
I feel heavy damage would only work in true endurance races (2+ hours) where pit strategies, pitting to fix damage, etc. can work out more like real life races where I've seen cars in wrecks missing body panels win races. In GT7, heavy damage right after a pit stop is game over, no hope ... and a malicious driver can ruin the lobby for others.
I think people wanted heavy damage for the finals after watching some things that felt a bit off during last one. They are the top of the top and I remember the live chat being slightly disappointed at some points of the races. It is the internet, they weren't quite as gentle lol
IMO: Trying to force a competition that works for the eSports qualifiers and the GT2/3 casual players at the same time doesn't work. The answer is to separate them: have the esports championships as they are now, but be one shot deals that are clearly for esports, and then use the championships feature to host different, more casual/fun championships than just Manufacturers or Nations. That way the people trying to qualify get what they want, and those of us who just want fun extra races get the extra variety that Sport Mode is crying out for.
Maybe have 1 slot open for gt1 that counts for qualifying points and then multiple slots open in the rest of the day for a casual championship in all 3 divisions
I thought it was strange how practice I had loads of grip then the race started I had really poor grip definitely caught me out . Anyone else think this .
A lot do to be fair because of no fuel and no tyre temps to loads of fuel and tyre temps
My issue with the GTWS is the lack of variety in between the different seasons. It’s the same tracks and combos every time. High speed Ring and Tokyo Expressway are examples of tracks that are not used
100% agree with the single eSport slot - they need to make them a 20 car grid at least though
I prefer manufacturers as well, but the BoP is broken for Gr.3, and a complete disaster for Gr.4... which is probably why Gr.4 isn't in GT1.
That sucks for me, as I'm a lower A+, but Gr.4 is my favourite category.
But as you pointed out, I think the biggest problem is that PD is not properly testing the different race combinations beforehand.
I'm sure there are plenty of talented players who are not going to compete in the GTWS that would be willing to test out potential race settings.
It's like PD is saving money and some dumb AI is responsible for Sport mode (Dailies and GTWS).
Meanwhile Kaz & company are focused on adding shitty VGT's and cafe conversations... 😑😑😑

There's an incorrect fact here about Bonelli racing in EMEA region. He did this on round 1 with Gr 2 at Le Mans, not for Rd 3 Trial Mountain road car race.
I also believe Tidgney incorrectly stated that it's not against the rules to race out of region in Nations cup. I believe it is in the rules that you race on the region in accordance with the terms and conditions for PSN. Which means you need to register your account with your correct region. For lower rated drivers this is going to be overlooked (as is double accounting) but definitely would draw PD's attention if done in higher rated lobbies where it could affect the outcome of the championship
Exactly, in top split lobbies is a big issue but at the end of the day in lower GT1 and all GT2/GT3 lobbies it doesn't matter, there are some GT1 famous drivers 🇺🇸 smurfs with zero chances of qualifying to GTWS and they are racing in all leagues (GT1, GT2, GT3) or across the world without ban because they're a nobodies.
An example, Igor Fraga lives in 🇯🇵 but he is trying to qualify or racing in Latam because his passport is 🇧🇷, it doesn't matter where you live, in case of drivers qualified to GTWS you need to have your ID document and/or passport matching the country with the account, nothing more, in GTSport years there was a guy from Macedonia who raced as an 🇦🇺, he was living in Macedonia during COVID time and he raced as an 🇦🇺 because his passport and ID documents were from Australia, at the end of the day the rule for those GTWS guys is simple "one account matching ID/passport country".
Now if someone has double nationality, he has to choose one acount with all ID/passport documents as a proof of residence or nationality.
The racing in a different region isn't against the rules if you haven't raced in your own region that was more what I was mentioning as it would not be double accounting as you've only entered with 1 account. It's the same as under 18s entering the competition, they just can't go to the live events as they would need to present proof of age or citizenship. Only reason I know about this was from my previous competitive side of GT where in 2018 I investigated racing for Ireland (I can get irish citizenship if I wanted) and also if I needed help with Audi 👀
Great video here in Nz our manufacturers cup slot starts at 10pm its a bit of a joke really. also i think they should change the day of the week the race is held.
13:51 Really big problem actually. Idk how the system decide who’s coming out of the pits first, which in that race was really important to get yourself out asap. And everyone except for the first few guys coming out was pushing on the out lap, destroying tires, and ruin the quali lap. I was lucky enough to be the second one to get out in that race tho. They just have to adjust the quali time to match the lap time. Also I found out that the 10 mins quali which we had in Watkins Glen and Daytona were way more interesting than the 5 mins ones.
I can explain that, it's about the first input the game detects from a player. You'll see when the PS5 Pro comes out that PS5 Pro users will exit the pit first over the standard PS5.
Esports sode definitely good idea, 2 slots in case of mistakes, unintentional contact, 2 opportunities allows more of the top drivers at least some shot and to facilitate such: couldn't they also do those on a different day!? 😮 we can all watch 👀 and expand GT1 not trying to qualify to 5 slots for you A+ drivers/Streamers. If the race is not over an hour long it seems unfair for many talented drivers to have to wait so long to race again. Definitely get rid of heavy damage ✅. Side note: outside of GTWS, we need 5 daily races options each week one for each group and one road cars. More cars added like lmp, use more tracks, better variety of race length. Very interesting vid Tidge. I think they did have an "e-sports only" type slot during one FIA race on GTS. It wouldn't let you in unless you were a certain DR. But that was back before they had divisions by DR.
They sort of did with the top 24 superstars races as I was apart of them and they were great as well.
I hope PD watch this and actually make some changes. Pretty much since the start of GT7 every change they've made to GTWS has made it worse. They need to stop pandering to the top 20 players and remember everyone else who just wants to enjoy the races.
Very good video Tidge, Instead of people being negative Nancy's, they should back your points and solutions. Everything you say is common sense. The only thing i think you've missed is that we need bigger grids. GT Sport had 20 cars on track, which made the racing much more exciting. When people quit the race
(which is inevitable), it didn't affect the lobby quite as much as when people quit a 16 car grid. GT7 should have kept the 20-car grid, or increased it, instead of regressing it. Apart from that point. You've pretty much nailed it.

Personally I’m a fan of heavy damage, but I think a good compromise would be a new damage level of “Medium”. It’ll self-repair like light damage does, but it sticks around for a minute or so
Good idea. From what I’ve seen (UA-cam and personal experience) a lot of drivers have their race wrecked from poor driving from others and not themselves.
i wish the points are closer together so drivers lower down could get a better chance and also a top 10 finish should be plus dr not matter what, its not right to start near the back and finish 7th and get dr down.
PD should make all lobbies in GTWS the same regardless of league , also every league should get at least 6 opportunities to race.
A dedicated eSports league would be great, especially if it was an extended season!
Man, I didn't know that! I am low down, I get all day to race on Wed, last race 15:00 hrs, then resumes 18:00hrs, then it runs until 22:00hrs. Sat I get all day until 19:00hrs
The mix of manufacturers used in GT2/GT3 (I'm a medicore GT3 driver) Manufacturers Cup is rather different, especially for those of us who want to do more than just the minimum number of races, because the metas are different between Gr.3 and Gr.4.
My issue is people having multiple attempts. Yes have multiple slots for everyone who want to race can race. But once you do your race, all slots close. I could finish a race in 2nd and be pleased with that. But anyone who finished behind me can have another go and out point me. Real racers don't get multiple attempts at a race.
That was always a gripe of mine if rushing home to enter last slot, to race without adequate warmup against some people who have just sat driving for four hours and ran the race twice
But people get ruined by dirty drivers much more often in gt7 than in real life
Real racers have a few days to practice and qualify while trying out different setups. There are also fewer idiots wrecking
Personally I also have an issue with the time frame of the season. Everything is condensed into 6 weeks of racing for the 'official' season and then it's crickets again! When gt7 first came out the official season spanned over 2-3 months so you had months and months worth of great racing to prepare and look forward to.
I would say this change was made for the esports players which is a shame as it seems PD are always trying to cater to the 0.000001% of their player base and everyone else suffers as a result
Agree. That first year was great. 12 rounds off nations and manufacturers. Then they went to just 6 rounds. I don’t mind 6 weeks, but at least give us more regular exhibitions seasons that last 6 weeks, not 3 weeks. After manufacturers finish in a few weeks I won’t be back on the game until the next exhibition season which will be what September October probably

Great video Tidgney. About time a youtube streamer who actually give solutions and doesnt piss and moan and off nothing back like a couple of other prominant UA-camrs. I agree with a lot of your solutions except 1. The GT1 single shot and esports one. Single shot, yes 100% but then they flood the pre lobbies not give those who have no hope of qualifying for the Worlds no hope of winning race set aside for them. Ok yes the could multi account (as most would as you would lock them from competing if they select the 1 shot option) but how do you then stop that?! I’m just in A and know I will never have the chance so what if I got good enough and got up in the A+ (as all you have to do is grind out an A+ but it doesnt really make you one speed wise come the big boys) and then have all them drop into my lobby and inhilate me in the race (when I may have had a chance at top 5) and push me back down to 12th and taking all that DR from me race in and race out. Is that fair?!
Again a applaud you for being proactive with outting forward solitions but i feel this is just back to where we kind of already are.

There should definitely be proper e-sports competition and stewarding separate from everything else. If someone is low DR or not placing the top of their league, they have no business trying to qualify for the esports competition anyway. So let us race for fun.
What they should do is expand "Daily races". They have the quick race servers, which is current daily races. Then they should have Race Weekend servers, that sort of mimic the current WC servers. But, as proper race weekends
I’d love to have LAN available to the public. I’d pay another $60-70 for the mode/functionality. Being able to simulate a LAN setting would be helpful for the world tour drivers. It would be profitable for PlayStation console, controller & wheel sales. It would also be a refreshing experience for GT users. I have a quarterly “race night” with friends. We still use GT4 on PS2s with wheels & pedals. We’ve been doing this for 20+ years. LAN in a new Gran Turismo would be amazing.
The additional problem is with the terrible penalty system like 6 seconds for overtaking under a yellow flag which in many cases is impossible to avoid or getting penalised for something someone else caused. Why are they not using Sophy for this sort of thing I do not know!!!
PD have made an incredible game but their overall management is just idiotic.
Honestly the Yellow Flag penalty has to be one of the most stupid additions to Gran Turismo, it's pointless and only works half the time.

From Finland those times Wednesday times are bad. 20.00, 22.00 are doable but race that can last an hour 00.00 is too late in wednesday
bonelli only double accounted round 1 nations (Le Mans Gr2), there was another top split CSA driver who double accounted in EMEA to practice round 3.

I think they throw darts 🎯 at a dart board and that’s the picks for next week. They haven’t tested race settings since 1 ½ after sport was released.
PD give us the ability to save the real settings for the race so that drivers can properly practice without the need to multiple accounts. Fully agree separate the Esports drivers from the rest. I am barely and A driver and have no aspirations to compete with the big boys, just want to have competitive races without carnage and dirty driving. Yes this may be too much to ask.

I haven't finished watching the video yet, and I think your first solution is good, but might I suggest a potential improvement?
Have 2 time slots out of the 9 or 10 be set aside specifically for e-sports instead of just 1, but if you enter one, you cannot then enter the other, with the other being completely locked out for anyone who entered the first slot
The reason being is your point about the limited number of slots in GT.1, not everyone who wants to take part in e-sports can necessarily fit in the slot specified, so having 2 slots gives players more of a chance to take part, obviously the finals would necessarily have to be a single time slot only, but up to and including the semi-finals would be plenty doable to have 2 slots set aside imo
There's likely problems with my idea and I just haven't thought of them, after all I'm not an online racer currently, I only take part in the time trials, so I'm speaking purely as an outsider
Whatever PD decides though, the game needs a lot of work, not just a few cars here and there and the odd bug fix, but a dramatic overhaul of the game, one that's much bigger than the spec 2 update
Appreciate the view Paul! Personally I would still only want 1 slot for the reasons in the video (Also because it's easy to implement vs a 2 slot checker thing). But that doesn't disregard your opinion or view and appreciate your view!
Honestly points should just be fixed. Like top split 1000p for p1, 500 for p16. And second split p1 should not be worth more than p16 in top split. It stops people from tanking dr to get lower splits like Kie, and also forces world tour drivers to play all rounds cause points are the same even if neither of them race.
The e-sport 1-slot is a great suggestion, and I would love to watch a live stream of that!
However, regarding stewarding. Although criteria for joining the league is that you should be eligible to actually participate as in the online event etc., but what is stopping thousand of lower rated drivers with unrealistic expectations to join this league, and how should you steward all the splits? Or should there be a maximum amounts of splits in e-sports league?
For the heavy damage; I like it in principle but it doesn’t work in practice. IF the system could separate between who is the cause and victim of an event incident and deal heavy damage to the one causing an incident and light to the one who is innocent, it would be great. But probably not possible to make such a system.
I would just have a maximum amount of splits, e.g. 3 or 4 for the esports if necessary. Or have as many as you like but state only the top 3 splits will have steward investigations etc.
I am a low A Driver, have progressed slowly since gt sport. Can’t imagine how desappointed i would be if i had to do shorter races on GT2-3 league.
For heavy dmg they could make me quit a game i love. Too much idiots, too much penalty with pitting cause them. I put a 30s video on my showing a « GT1 driver » making carnage during my GTWS. Even if i agree for one slot only, this dirty destroyed my race , and my motivation.
There is alot more dirty driving in GT3 but at least there are more times per day where u can make up for the ramming
Forget about time slots. I work Wednesday to Saturday, so I've never been able to join any of these championships despite how fun they could be.
I really wish they offered more time slots. Early morning slots would allow me to participate whereas the current times make it almost impossible with my schedule.
A very reasonable argument made very well, 👏. I don't normally race Nations, Manufacturers or dailies, if I do it's invariably daily A. I do have a few accounts but just play the main body of the game as well as TTing the dailies and the 2 mill challenge. Those last two alone are more than enough to keep me happy, 😁.

You always have (and I presume the same goes for other top split drivers) good ideas and well thought out suggestions but nothing ever really changes. Do you think they just disagree or find the suggestions to hard to implement? Or are they just deaf to criticism?
I can give feedback and have before, they also do watch some of the videos and actions have happened because of the videos in the past. They might not see my problems as problems so I never expect change I just try to express where I feel it could be better.

On your first point. I understand your position on the lack of slots available to you. But MY problem is that those of you who are highly ranked get longer races that actually involve strategy whereas the lower leagues get shortened races.
I have nothing for the second point since I am not very likely to ever get close to qualifying. Lol

As far as something I would change...
First...those of us who aren't God Tier drivers should still have the opportunity to enjoy the longer races that you guys get.
Second...I am always going to be in the minority on this but....stop with the adjustable car settings. The GTWS races should be based on DRIVING skill. Not who can come up with the best tune. Get the BoP right so that every car can be competitive. All that happens when tuning is allowed is that it turns into a one make race. This is not an issue as much in the Manufacturer's Cup but it definitely is in the Nations Cup.

We need to separate A+ and A DR, because being A, you could not beat an A+ guy due to points system so for me it’s not fair to compete in same league.
Also, when you’re disconnected, you lose too much DR and you score 0 points… They have to make difference between a « start, quit » and their servers problems!

Its because there are less A drivers and not all of them will be on, and because they drop out after a good result youd end up with empty lobbies at the end of the day
Make all the cars identical except the bodies. If your not tuning. I’d rather have that then everyone racing where there are 20 Supra’s
I think you gave some very good examples here. However, one thing I would point out about the slots, in an official season I think the 3 slots are the max amount we should have. In an exhibition season I would 100% agree with more slots. We've had 10 before in exhibition, why can't we just have it again?!
3 slots and one race every two hours with a 30-40 minute qually + race combined creates so much waiting, I really highly dislike that especially in an exhibition season where everyone just wants to race and enjoy the competitive driving
It depends to be honest, I would happily have more slots if the esports was seperate as I could enjoy the racing, but ye it definitely can't be more than 3 if it includes the esports side.
the split between leagues could still exist, if everyone raced the same combos. it's obvious they made gt1 only race in gr3 cars because of the mess that is the gr4 bop.
the thing about time slots we could have 6 slots, one each hour, if you started the 7pm let's say, you obviously wouldn't be able to join the 8pm lobby, but I could, because I've just got home from work at 7:30pm as an example.
the points system is flawed at its core, because it can be manipulated in many ways. last round of nations in LATAM they buffed the room and targeted one of the drivers that was competing so the other could qualify.
that is what I can think of could help a little. I really don't knkow where does PD take some race settings from. it's like they have a really bad randomizer table, that picks, track settings, car and weather, and whatever it picked they keep.
I don't like to pile on what some people call "negative criticism" but when the game we bought and like to play is not being as fun or great as it could, we can and should criticise it. and offer solutions like you did @tidgney

Talk with names, Bonelli broke the rules and he didn't deserve to qualy for Nations so BIG thanks to perroloco Fabian Portilla, the Regalado brothers and Mateo Estevez for being present at that race and "helping" indirectly to Inostroza with that buff, well, Estevez didn't block Inostroza so his help was direct, oh, and Amarok (Sternberg) tried to ruin in some way Inostroza's race but at the end of the day Inostroza won and Bonelli failed, all on track in that Spa race.

My problem is that I get a daily races for the whole week already I only it’s me on the track so you nobody else show up. I did the game reinstall again nothing
I'd double check the internet connection as that definitely sounds like a bug.
For me competing in these events is technically useless. I want to help both my nation and chosen manu against others. However all I am doing as a B driver is competing within my nation and manu. Each round should total up the points gained across all leagues for each nation and manu and divide them by how many people entered each round for said nation or manu. This way each would get an average points for it's entrants which would not negatively effect a nation or manu due to less drivers. At the end the top drivers would go to the finals as champions for each one. Also not having all the manus at the finals is poor. (Especially as some manus have to go to the finals meaning a manu who qualified misses out at the expense of one who did not qualify) Some have never been shown there or stand a chance. Have the manu finals have semi final heats to get to the grand final. All these things will make it seem like we all have an impact on the championship.
Dude don’t even start with the times… here in NZ often our GT1 races are at 11pm, 1am and 3am on a Wednesday night / Thursday morning. Hell no.
I understand that one Adrian, having had NZ teammate at the live event and meeting the Oceania guys I've heard it used to be even worse with races starting at midnight!
I've gotten to half the video where I stopped. All Tidg said I'm sure are problems, but they affect a minority, almost a niche, I'd say. They only thing I'd argue that affects a LOT of people is the small number of time slots for GT1 and the different races between the leagues. Both of which can be fixed easy; create more slots, don't differentiate the leagues
Where are you concerns regarding race length/challenge/originality? What about tyres (always hard) and of course the penalty system. Or does that take up the second half of the rant?
In this one I am talking about it from my perspective to be honest, while trying to be open to others where I can be. I never talk about Penalties anymore though as the penalty system is a seperate issue which never appears to be fully solved. While i do mention that live stewarding would help the top splits, you can't help everyone ever unfortunately.

To be quiet honest,I think they should have just Saturday competition for those who want to enter, just Wednesday ones and dual day. Plus wants the story in balamory about yellow flag - they automatically slow you down 🤬🤬🤬🤬 let the penalties fly for god sake.
Race settings overall are very very bad right now. Just looking at current manufactures series. Out of 6 races there is ONLY ONE where we have two different tyre compounds (Deep Forest race). Where is the race with all 3 tyres mandatory? Where are the races where we can do multiple strategies? Honestly, I'm getting bored with this game.
Inherent issue here Tidge is that I am of the opinion that PD does not have any interest in the online element of this game. They have no interest in encouraging players to play on a competitive or even casual basis (why is the money payout so comically low compared to single player??), and ultimately I’m confused as to why they persevere with such elaborate events, when they can’t even bother to set up races (copy pasting all the races from last year without any thought or care???)

I love GT and its just seems like We the drivers online are not the bulk of the people who have the game. Online drivers are not even listened too. How many cars are more than 4 yrs old in the Gr.3 category. Why do we get so many street cars and race cars? The DGDR podcast talks about this all the time. The people that set up weekly and GTWS races arent racing nerds like most of us but just plain ol nerds that dont understand what makes racing fun. PD never listens to its fans. They are oblivious to the issues. Its very frustrating when you work so hard to build DR to an a plus and with one race you lose 3 times as many points as you can gain by winning the race. How does that make sense?
The GTWS is not really a true E-Sports league sadly. PD does nothing to make it a real E-Sports competitor. PD wont give us up to date cars. If they wanted things fair they would actually work on having real penalties for dirty drivers. Dirty drivers would get banned. I could ramble on about this for hours but I wont. If you want to listen to rambling Jimbo got to spotify and listen to the DGDR ( Dumb Guys Do Racing) Podcast.

The residence idea for esports is not good and for me residence place is not an issue except for lag, all of GTWS qualifiers needs to have legal documents like passport/ID documents/nationality etc. matching the PS account, Igor Fraga lives in 🇯🇵 but he's 🇧🇷 and he's trying to qualify for Manufacturers in Latam meanwhile he's living in 🇯🇵, is not illegal, you can try to qualify from other country but all of your ID/passport documents or similar have to match the account you're racing for GTWS, JMBrea in one if his lives explained that part briefly last year, do you remember the guy from Macedonia racing as an 🇦🇺?
He and Igor Fraga are the best example about people not living in the region of their accounts qualifying to FIA GTSport championship or GTWS because they had their legal passports/ID documents to match the accounts, people with double nationality have to choose one account obviously if they want to qualify for GTWS...and any people who want to qualify for GTWS: "one account", nothing more.
Ye if you want to go to a live event you need to show proof of your citizenship. However aslongs you don't double account there's nothing stopping me racing in South Americas Manufacturer series for example if I've never raced in the Manufacturer Series in EMEA.

Not sure if its going to be mentioned since you're obviously a GT1 driver but the class splits between gt1 ans gt2/3 is stupid in my opinion.
Why does gt1 only use gr3 cars and why does gt2/3 get the races designed for gr3 cars but with gr4 cars. It just seems pointless. Surely everyone should be on the same schedule.
Also I thought the manufacturers series was supposed to be about who had the best overall lineup and this just ruins that theory.
My other gripe as a gt2 driver is the time slots. Despite promising a 5pm time slot it doesn't exist so i physically cannot race on wednesdays as i only have 4-6pm on weekdays. This would also mean if i get to A driver rating then i can't race on Wednesday either because all the slots are at suboptimal times.
In real life faster drivers are usually in faster cars too. And slower cars are used as "support acts" for the fast cars, on the same track, during the same event. So this Gr.3/Gr.4 difference is actually realistic.
@@ArumesYT video games shouldn't be about realism in that way imo unless it's single player career. It's just creating an unnecessary divide that makes it feel like at least to me that gt2/3 is more of an afterthought.
It also clouds the manufacturer points since gt1 results will bias against 2 and 3 and of course the other way around which makes the end table for the manufacturers not an accurate representation of gr3 cars or a whole lineup.

And it's a manufacturers cup, not a Gr.3 cup. Manufacturers are responsible for their Gr.3 and Gr.4 cars, so I wouldn't mind if a bad Gr.4 car drags the Gr.3 results down or the other way around. *IF* that would be the case, but AFAIK results are kept separate for GT1/2/3. So it's no issue at all.

In terms of my opinion I'm a gt2 driver but I would like to be able to do the same races that gt1 does since it feels like more of a significant event when it's the same one you see all over UA-cam. I personally want gr3 and gr4 in all 3 divisions since I feel like it would more accurately represent the best brands and drivers since some people are better in slower cars and some in faster cars. Otherwise it's just yet another GT3 racing series which is copy paste across all of SIM racing.
I agree I do dislike the split of classes. Everyone should have the same opportunity, and then it brings into question the balance and why a different league doesn't get the more balanced class.

The thumbnail literally states "The problems I have" lol. Although the best aren't always going to qualify due to some of the reasons I've stated. Having experienced and been one of the most Successful GT Sport drivers I have experience and seen this.
No offence tidgney, this game died after covid i feel. That was gt sport peak. And gt in general. PD dont care, the races are all copy paste, they barely have any seasons and hardly any slots or races in general, no GR4 races. No one banned, no prize pools. Only the poster boys of the game have gotten careers, i could go on forever.
