Great video. The side by side comparison at the end was very interesting to look at. Josette's tyres were slightly more worn that yours at that point in the race, not sure how much difference that would have made in terms of your advantage. Still, was good to understand the 2 corners that you needed to work on.
Turn 2 actually works better if you approach it with the normal racing line, brake early, downshift and turn in aggressively to drive the car over the apex and you can get an incredible exit.
For me it's the corners. Speed I can do, barriers I can do, muddy tires.. not a problem. I can do it all even stop from 200 mph in less than one second. But I just can't corner for sh!#
I have to say that the video comparison was a great way to look at where or what your improvement areas could be. I'm interested in the comparison again before you pitted the second time to see how much of a difference it was for you compared to after you pitted the second time.
very informative thanks man. I find TC1 helps when the rain just gets to the 3rd bar, you can then throttle a little more and take more risk. I know it cuts power but it also applies power to the wheel that needs it, which is useful for corner in the rain
I enjoyed a fully dry race but there were some clouds and they came oh so close and a couple drivers ahead of me apparently took the wrong tires because they went back into the pits which took me from a decent p4 to an awesome P2 finish. This is a really fun race. I used the Ferrari for Manu and it seems to be my most consistent vehicle now. I did mess around with the NSX 2000 but I'm too inconsistent to go 24 laps at the moment. Great video and fun race indeed. And just to follow up, my DR level A also has some really wonderful and beautiful racecraft, we are giving each other space we are pushing in the draft to give our friends more top speed and there are definitely some really good racing moments even in the lower lobbies.
Great vid Tidge, the rain is weird in GT7. I know you were one of the best in GTS on wet tracks, so something's not right. It's weird too, sometimes they have less laps for lower ranks in Race C. But this week even D lobbies have 24 laps. I might do it just because there may only be 3 finishers haha.
Seems like managing the wet/dry line is critical for +LTs. Still not sure if GT’s line is the most optimal in the wet though😂. Might also be worth experimenting with a -3 BB in intermediate conditions? -5 might be sacrificing too much rotation in mild rain conditions.
I am very inexperienced with driving in the rain and struggle with it as well. Don't find it fun either when it's torrential. Interestingly though, I googled a bit and one thing came up, was that brake balance should be towards rear, not front.
Definitely worth considering the fact Josete is on used tyres compared to your new ones which may impact certain parts where you look better than him on grip such as the last turn but other than that very helpful to see
I'm jealous Tidge, I traveled the virtual world of GT7 on my alt accounts (lol) and It's very hard to find clean races. I will however say that I have found better\cleaner and fun lobbies with Japanese racers.
Hey Mate! I don't offer coaching at the moment, mainly due to the limited hours I have. If I offered it I'd have to offer at a higher cost, then there would be complaints to money grabbing and concerns from my side whether it's worth anyones money so don't offer it. I have come up with alternative ways to coaching but again it's a time thing at the moment and it may appear in the future.
I see Josete seems to be on automatic transmission. Would anyone care to comment on that? (I thought it would be impossible to be at the top with AT. And then in the rain…😮)
@@christophersallade2048 My ghost should always be on the leaderboard and available. There's odd exceptions though, and the weekly race guide can show the lap in detail.
The wet line/dry line only matters when the track is drying. Doesn’t matter while it’s wet. Take normal racing line typically a little more narrow. Then as track is drying, take the dry line which is technically the wet line. 😂 does that make sense? Hahahahaha
Short shifting is your friend in the rain. Also adjustments to downshifting is something that can be helpful.
Handy hint:
In wet conditions while braking, keep the gas on. Change down slowly. Release brake and gas gradually.

Appreciate the kind words! 100% the tyres would have been helping, but it's great to find out the strengths and weaknesses as you say 😊😊😊

My biggest weakness in GT is speed/going fast.

Will you do a lap guide for the Toyota GR 010 at Le Mans for the Toyota cup this weekend?
Apologies for the delay, I don't do lap guides/strategy stuff yet for sport mode. May appear in the future though 👀
Always with the educational banger videos! 👌🏼👌🏼

Awesome tips and breakdown!!..I also struggle mightily in the wet

Great race Tidge - looks like I need smoother throttle application though.😅

Beautiful driving tidge! Absolutely beautiful!
I would also suggest to try upping your force feedback a lot more when driving in the wet. Gives you much more feel. Helped me a ton

O for sure, I wasn't stating I was better in anyway, but helps for clarity where my strengths and weaknesses were on the circuit in the wet 😊
@@tidgney 100%. I wish I was half as good as you lol
8:18 I believe Kie is pulling off like that to do a last to first challenge.
I always use Traction control in the rain, for the time you lose on acceleration, you save by not spinning out
I do agree with that in 99% of situations for sure! Very top split though annoyingly gotta do it without 🙈

Race 2 lap 9 you cut Coca Cola a lot but received no penalty. I've cut it less and received a penalty. No fair!

24 laps, that's a long one!

It's just the replay.
All cars are AT on replay
As freedom has mentioned, just a replay graphical bug, I can 100% confirm Josete is using manual
You are using traction control, it’s your foot!
9:45 once you hit Kie your a donkey 😭😆😂🤣
