I have made a few time lapse but I need to actual get a better quality camera. In terms of functionality initially I had problems with getting the time lapse to work. But recent updates fixed it
Creality could REALLY make a name for themselves by giving consumers the choice to buy printers bundled with an installed Sonic Pad INSTEAD of the normal 4" touch screen. Then it would come preset and ready to use with the Sonic Pad. This seems like a no brainer upgrade, that they should have thought of as soon as the Sonic Pad was a thing... I don't really have a problem with Creality trying to make their "Sonic Pad" their own ecosystem. But I have a BIG problem if they are trying to lock down Klipper, or any other open source software. The thing I find funny is that someone will figure out how to bipass all of Creality's protections in place, BECAUSE it's based on open source software. THere are always hackers taking aim at large conglomerates who try to squelch open source or free code. So Creality will get a serious dose of a wake up call, if they try to be too stupid with locking down this device.
Great video. Would be cool to see all the features and built in tuning programs the sonic pad has. Would be much easier to have all of the known quality tunes and upgrades built in vs having to dial in each one separate and add on in different config files.
Thanks dude, the thing is there is so much to klipper, and really even what Creality have done.. but i'll be putting a few more videos out on this thing and hopefully covering off some of the other questions.
I'm running the 3 S1 Pro with the sonic pad. I wanted to know where you got the file for the sonic pad holder you showed. I'm trying to attach my sonic pad to the top of the printer. Thanks for the help.
I just set the Sonic Pad today on my S1 Pro. It prompted for a f/w update right out of the box. Done successfully. Went through all the prompts, levelled the bed, resonance test completed as well. now the sonic pad won't turn back on. Once ever 3-4 times i power up it shows the Creality logo then shuts off. Not impressed at this point but will go through the P&D routine with the vendor.. see what happens. Overall not a good experience so far.
@@TheRealSamPrentice The entire unit powers off. Now the store where I bought it from wants to go through all hoops of trouble shooting.. honestly I purchased it Tuesday, delivered Wednesday and I set up today. Should be an RMA..you would think anyway..
I also am very pleased with the Ender 3 S1 Pro. With the ender 5 S1 wandering into life things may get even more interesting, just snagged on on pre-order. Hopefully a good thing, could be a dumb move... I recently received a sonic pad for the S1 Pro, my Ender 3 V2 with multiple upgrades is running conventional klipper very nicely, but a Sonic Pad is lower in cost than a Pi4 these days. It would be nice is they followed the lead of some Android configurations with a "developer" option to turn on access to all the features. I guess the goal is to ensure a better experience for many folks without opening the can of worms that klipper configuration and tuning can become. Even as a life long geek and professional developer with a hardware design background not everything quite worked as expected during my from scratch klipper build. Got it all sorted out, but it took some fiddling around. Will be looking forward to further videos as you find the interesting nooks and crannies of the sonic pad, and as always I appreciate all your work to help us out.
I havethe S1 plus with the upgraded bi-metal hotend and PEI sheet. I've had to fit the soild silcone bed spaces as the extra bed sizes makes the bed harder to keep level, it works great. Would I buy the sonic pad. I'm not sure. would be great if it has multi print support.
Mr Prentice Just had a thought. I have Ender 3 Pro on steroids. Mainboard is now a SKR mini E3 V3. And bed is 300 x 300 and height is 380. Does that through a monkey wrench into it not to work with my setup????
Do you have a copy of the printer.cfg that's provided via Creality? I'm running Klipper from a raspberry pi and I'm using a community config file and I'm super interested in the difference between mine and the 'official' config. Thanks!
I only converted my S1 Pro to Klipper with the Sonic Pad this past weekend, so this is eerily well-timed. Having read and watched lots of reviews, I was prepared for trouble and difficulty, but I think waiting for that first Sonic Pad firmware update paid off. X and Y input shaping are separated and stored correctly (but who puts the sensor in the middle of the bed for Y?) the PID tuning works well, and running at 150mm/s is now my base speed. Haven't even had problems with Moonraker (as some have) and it is pushing slices directly from Cura to the Pad. Sad to say, but this is better than the FLSun Speeder Pad on my V400 IMHO.
@@Beefycakes240 Stock cooling, but I've made a circular part cooling duct on my resin printer to improve it, but just haven't gotten around to putting it on. Seems pretty good at 150mm/s so far with the stock fan.
Thanks and Sorry Charles, lots of info to get into there I'm hoping to make some shorter videos looking at specifics and elements on things like setup and tuning soon.

I have had mine, actually S1 upgraded to pro and the S1 pro for the start of the line. I really love the two machines. The Sonic pad is great but going through some growing pains. However the pad is very usable. Keep the info flowing 💪 Adding :8819 after ip adres of the Sonic pad. 🤔
The S1 Pro is great using the Sonic Pad. Mine is tuned now and just churns out sucess after sucess
great bit of kit took me a couple of weeks to fine tune it, but once done it improved the speed and quality of my prints :)

Thanks again Sam, I'm afraid the adds got me so I'll have to come back with a box of popcorn and watch again. Looking forward to it, Regards from Oz

Nope because you'd just need the config file for that board, then setup your config around that. Maybe have a look at getting a PI ?
