It has come to my attention that many of you missed the first part where I stated that I went through a bunch of troubleshooting BEFORE I started replacing everything in this video. So I made a new video on those steps! Watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/0Vd60NmytXo/v-deo.html
since we have the so call shit corona which i dont believe are hard ware so expensive at least in Germany and some people dont have the Money to buy A Amd 4 Motherboards
The fact that it died after you touched something on the USB seems to indicate a static discharge. In principle, that could have utterly fried some random component on the microscopic level. It's super hard to replicate, but that seems to be the only explanation consistent with your experience.
A pc keep giving alarming beeps or siren but still work fine. Usually first thing to do is to replace the PC case and install the RAM in different slots, but some RAM stick are the “leader” stick that must be in the slot 1 to make a pc POST as the other sticks of RAM “follower” sticks that couldn’t POST all by itself. It may not be the PSU has fault, but replace the PSU may fix it if all the fans works fine when there was no POST. Replace mobo’s battery too. In many cases no PC parts has fault, it just need to replace the PC case, RAM, PSU, battery with another working PC parts, so after doing all that, you ended up with 2 working PC system and not a single faulty PC part. May need to replace the PC case because some pc case’s back panel is curved outward and need pushed inward to put in the screw to secure the graphic card, so after some years or weeks of use, it pulled things out of place, bow and arrow theory … … In one of the other cases, each time the power is out in my house, I need to replace the graphic card and installed a graphic card that could POST in the PC, then I install the one that failed to POST back in place and it could POST, so each time the power it’s out I need to repeat that! Some PC could shut down due to static changes when your hand is only touching the power button to the PC that’s made of plastic. Some PC couldn’t POST, just wait a 3 days without using it, then it return to life of POST, this could happen once in a few years of use, like seeing a comet going passing by!
So in conclusion, if your computer doesn't work, the 100% guaranteed way to fix it is to buy all new parts until it does work. I suppose that would work but it is a bit expensive.
Love this video, it's exactly what's happened to my PC no posting, but I haven't found the cause yet. Really good to have someone else to watch who's done this, and gives me some great hints as to what may fix this.

@@RAVisuals You could test the power supply and it was working to begin with, as well as other components before just replacing them all....at least now you have a new system
showlowwings didnt have a power supply tester on hand so I went about it the best way I could my man. Sometimes there’s things that simply swapping in new parts will tell you right away and (like I said in the video) I was looking to buy those new components anyway, so It made sense for me to do that. Thanks for the suggestions though!
It’s a blessing in disguise. You got all the parts you actually wanted before and even newer RGB parts, haha. My brother’s build is currently in some kind of similar situation as yours where windows won’t even boot up. He mentioned couple of nights ago his comp won’t turn on. I’ll relay video to him to have him run down your troubleshoot steps :) glad everything is up and running again though!
What an awesome video Ricky! Im happy to see, that you found the cause of your problem. The only sad part is that you had to buy a half new pc :/ but now you are helping others who can't figure out the problem so thank you in advance for that ;) ill surely support your channel with a dumps-up! Keep up the awesome work my man! Cheers from belgium!
Funny story: I had the exact same issue a couple of hours ago. I tried everything you tried in the beginning as well, but nothing worked. My dad arrived, all pissed off, and pressed the ram in with quite the force. The motherboard made a click so loud I thought he broke it. In fact, the pc started bootlooping. After some thorough cleaning though, the pc finally stopped bootlooping and booted like normal. Thank god I didn't have to buy a new pc
Glad you found your problem! Im having the exact same issue, thought it was the Motherboard, too. Bought a brand new one, still same problem. I want to cry cause with my luck its probably my GPU I was waiting 6 months to get my hands on.
lol, I have a more recent video full of tips for what to do before replacing everything. This video was out of necessity because I needed my computer back quickly.
The USB device probably had built up static current, so when it touched the plug, it killed the board. This doesn't happen often because the plugs are supposed to be grounded to the backplate, but sometimes it does happen. It actually happened to me once, only the charge didn't just kill the board but also a HDD connected to it. It all died the moment I plugged in a USB stick.
I bricked my main (and only) PC last week, and it’s a pain in the butt. I knew it was the motherboard, so it was a starting point, but to have to reset cmos, and reseat everything is time consuming in itself (which is made more frustrating when nothing works). In the end, I went and bought an upgraded board and new processor, so I ended up with practically a new PC.
Last month, 4-year old AMD FX-based PC failed to post. Time to upgrade to AMD X570, Ryzen 5, NVMe, and DDR4. All other components reused and upgraded PC working. My problem was a fried m/b - it happens due to thermal shock of being switched on/off.
MH0709 yep! Sorry you had the same issue man, sucks when a mono fails on you but hey, I took it as a blessing in disguise so I could get some different parts and play with them 😂
Thanks for the video, this has confirmed my suspicions about my PC. I have the same issue PC turns on motherboard lights up, all fans spinning CPU, case fans, GPU etc. but motherboard won't POST. The memory check LED is also illuminated which according to manual indicates a memory issue however pressing the button 3 seconds is supposed to cause the light to blink but it doesn't respond. The CMOS clear and reset button on the motherboard don't respond either. I've reseated the GPU, tried a brand new GPU, swapped the memory sticks in different slots, tried 1 memory stick and no memory sticks, it still won't POST. I can only conclude, that like yours, my motherboard has gone to the silicon place in the sky - RIP! My cat threw up into the PC through the top mounted fan - yeah that actually happened, and it looks like they've fried the motherboard. Get a cat they said, it'll be fun they said 😂😱😭
@@Globalgiant.0 Sorry to hear that. I bought a secondhand CPU and motherboard off ebay in the end. It turned out both my CPU and motherboard were fried.
Its was obvious to me, (Technician for 30 years) that you shorted the usb-c port. So you probably blew the usb-c port support ic which went open circuit or shorted to ground. If you had a multimeter you can check to see if there are shorts around the usb-c port by checking the nearest capacitors to the usb-c ic.
🤔 yeah you're right, when things fail me i always remove ram and bios battery , disconnect main, power on the switch, then few minutes later put everything back then main, power on and pc boots up again 🤔 now I know why these steps work!
Thank you man, I had the same problem, just bought a new motherboard and cpu cooler today with some extra thermal compound on Amazon. I thought at first it was my ram but it was actually just the motherboard the whole time. You definitely earned a new subscriber and I’ll be sure to leave an edit after my package ships here tomorrow of my pc working again! Cya then. Edit: can confirm it was the motherboard, best video on UA-cam for this issue!
Diego Aguas make sure there’s not a GPU because when you have a newer cpu installed it’s gonna try and run it off the motherboard so if you have your GPU installed take it out and plug your hdmi ,vga ,dvi cable in your motherboard then try it
Just had a similar issue with my 5800x. Computer randomly restarted on me one day and would never boot back into Windows. It would get to the spinning circle on Windows 10 and restart. It would try to enter repair after 3 failed attempts, restart. Tried to reinstall Windows on the same drive and then a different drive, restart. I changed everything as I had most parts available. The one thing I did not have was another CPU. I've never had a CPU fail me and refused to believe it was the problem. It was the problem.... I now can boot the bad CPU as long as I set the voltage for it. I read in one of my many searches that someone had success booting theirs by manually setting the voltage and it actually worked in my case. I do have a new processor that replaced the bad one and it works fine on either MB regardless of ram or GPU configuration. I've never over clocked the failed CPU or even abused it in anyway as it's not my go to PC for daily activity. I'm still stumped as to exactly what happened to it. Why does it not work if voltage is set to auto but does if I set it manually? This is on 2 MBs getting the same result. Guess it doesn't matter and I believe AMD offers a 3 year warranty so I might do an RMA on it.
It's definitely not Short, it's common non-posting problem and it has happened to me the 5th time now and it would eventually workd after clearing my cmos and removing 1 of my Rams but now it's completely dead to me like yours and gnna go to motherboard service center to get it checked
I am facing the same exact problem. I too tried everything you said at the beginning of the video, and deduced that it was my motherboard. This video saved me the trouble of replacing every single part😂. Thank you
It the problem everyone faces when their PC fails to boot you try and diagnose it but without the spare parts to swap stuff about you just can't, your only hope after reseating everything is that clearing the CMOS works otherwise it's time to buy new parts.
Me too!! An MSI B-550 Mag Tomahawk. Brand new build that ran fine for about a month and then wouldn’t post. Replaced all components but motherboard too ! Luckily i had some good components laying around:) Thanks for the vid. At least I’m not alone.
I was in the middle of a Call of Duty: Cold War match when my system froze and I had to turn it off. I was dropping frames like crazy. Like low 40's when I was getting over 100 regularly. But when I went to turn PC on again I can't get a display at all.
The same thing happend to me my fans spin and mother board will light up for one seconed then will just flicker I have no idea what is wrong if you find something about it please let me know
@@AlwafiCharki I thought it had been my power supply but my friend told me to just push the ram sticks in as they might have gotten out of place and it worked perfect after if u have the same issue it's most likely the ram
i have right now the same problem .....pc turns on but no signal to monitor, i've try everything ,even remove the graphics card and connect the monitor to motherboard integrated graphics but still no display, my motherboard is only 5 months old and pc went down after a huge Sea Fog in my village.
Same thing happened to me yesterday. I pulled out my usb stick and everything died. Turned power back on but couldn't get a signal from my Vega. Wouldn't post for 4 hours. I took everything out put it back together still wouldn't post. When I woke up this morning tried again and it just came on. Weird AF.
@Walther Penne M/B do not die slowly, they either work or do not work. A reduction in successful postings is more than likely to be s/w related - trying to do modern stuff with old h/w.
GUYS if this didn’t work with you cause he forgot the most important thing and he doesn’t even know it. Let me tell you what it is. Unplug your GPU take the battery out ( THE SMALL ONE) and hold on the turn on button while your power is off and the power cable is out. Put the battery in and turn on your pc without the GPU put the HDMI cable or whatever you use in your motherboard and turn your PC on and then go to your bios and put the things in your default settings and then turn off the PC and hook up everything the GPU and the cable in it and turn your PC on. Easy is that. Gosh it took me so long to figure it out and I got sad so I know how you feel. Hopefully this helps luv ❤️
Yep, same here. Did everything, full strip and rebuilt. The problem was, 3 of my 4 sticks of ram were cooked. Did a one ram stick at a time, last stick worked. Took me a week to work it out.. Ordered 2 new ram sticks. :) happy days.

Same issue that I've had over the past year, on occasion, on my B450 Tomahawk board. It had previously worked really well for three years, but I thought I'd try to pretty up the cabling. The CPU debug light was on when everything would start, but then stop. No video at all. Turns out that in doing some cable management, I'd managed to somehow wrap the DVD player SATA cable (plugged into SATA port #3) around the #1 and #2 SATA port cables, the result of which was that the #1 and #2 SATA ports were actually bent UP slightly, and one of the motherboard's SATA port pins had snapped OFF, but it wasn't immediately obvious - because it looked like a snake pit at that point - UNTIL the broken headers got pulled up a bit more and the entire port came OUT of the board when I removed the SATA cable. Very stupid mistake, for sure! I should say that I've been building computers since the mid '90's, and have NEVER made a more stupid mistake. It can happen to the best of us! So, be VERY CAREFUL when trying to cable manage, especially if your case isn't necessarily the greatest in the world for making your power cabling look great! BTW, after carefully snipping off the header pins on SATA slots #1 and #2, and plugging them into slots #3 and #4, everything worked fine.
all you need is a motherboard speaker and the beep or beeps will tell you what exactly the problem is its much more easier for diagnosis rather than replacing components one by one
Just seems you swapped out things one by one until you got lucky. I was hoping for a better way. I did same and now the only thing left to try is CPU. Only thing is I have to wait each time until I can afford the next component. On the plus side I'll nearly have all the parts ready for my next build. If anyone knows about any plug in tech that can diagnose problem, please let me know.
Mark Graham sometimes troubleshooting is exactly what you said; “plugging and unplugging things until you get lucky” there’s not always some diagnostic tool that tells you everything. Especially in my case where it was the motherboard that was dead. I’m just glad I figured it out In the end.
Thanks for the helpful video. We just got done putting together out brand new PC and I would have a dead motherboard based on your findings - SOOOOOOO annoying. Glad you shared this experience, it was very helpful to watch your process.
A great video and a nice piece of diagnostic work! I suspect the MB had a problem before you plugged in the USB drive. I have been working on computers for 25 years and never had a USB drive kill a MB. There is always a first time but the good news is that you figured it out and got the system back in service.
Well… the motherboard was the most likely, and definitely the first thing you should have tried to change! A USB C problem hurting it to the point where it wouldn’t even post is pretty weird, but maybe it is just a BIOS issue. The next step would be to diagnose what happened to this poor motherboard!
See that red LED on the bottom of your motherboard @ 4:49 - that'll point you to the general area of the problem, cross reference against the LED reference in the motherboard manual.
cptwhite exactly what I did! This helped me narrow down what the problem could be and it ended up being a dead mobo ☠️ First one I’ve ever had die on me
I think i am experiencing the same issue. Not sure why my mobo would brick, considering it worked fine before i attempted to install a new AIO, but maybe that is where things went south. Still gonna go through similar steps as you have here to see what my issue is.
Somethings causing these motherboards to fail. Doesn't happen quite as often on Laptop builds, I'm done with desktops. To many people with with same problem that happens with normal use means these high end motherboard builds are not reliable.
Went through your 23 (22?) point initial checklist and am now currently waiting on new RAM sticks to make sure it's not some weird compatibility issue with my MO. I even updated the BIOS thinking that might do the trick but my PC will only boot when there is only 1 stick of RAM in the A2 slot. This is going to be me in the next couple of weeks.
What this illustrates is a FACT. All to often these days and I've been building pcs for over 40 years, the truth can be a real pain in the ! to find IF your system fails. Who generally keeps a new set of spare parts ? Also what says those parts won't be out of date or won't fit anyway? You buy a latest motherboard and it won't work out of the box ? ah cos the bios needs to be flashed but you have to install an older cpu to update the bios for the new cpu you're putting in GET my drift? Take this with an existing system and it fails what is to say from the off that it's the motherboard? Believe me they do fail though I've found generally quite a few years later an by then most of you will have upgraded anyways cos the operating systems don't or won't work on the old boards and ! Those of us who do build believe me we've been here, seen it done it got the t ☺and yes in the end its down to a process of elimination or termination☺ I've just put together an MSI Tomahawke 450 max build only for it NOT to post. Not power, not DDR4 nor cpu et so what is the problem? Ah well according to several sources those boards have a problem re post and yes to see what bios you've got on the board you need post. Me? I've returned it as I don't have the patience anymore for problems the manufacturer is supposedly aware of and continues to put out boards that have that problem. I think switching the motherboard manufacturer here in this vid is probably one of the best solutions long term.
Bro, i am really living the same problem with you. Did BIOS flashback like 10+ times. Probably my mobo or CPU is dead. My problem is same as you. The video helped a lot. I bought a mobo(B550 gaming plus) yesterday (it is in cargo now) and i knew it was the mobo. I will send the old one for RMA, and idk what to do when it turns back to me. Probably i will sell iy.
No speaker for post?... who does that for diagnostics? I've seen boards do this before on several occasions, make sure your board is screwed down to the case good. It's very possible you had a bad case ground and static current didn't find its way to chassis ground when you plugged that usb port in and fried the board. Also, ground yourself to the case first to drain your current, then plug in to a port... static is what killed that board.
I had the exactly same problem only that I've recently bought a new computer so everything is brand new and when I finally assembled everything together it was showing a VGA red light and took me days of trying to figure it out. Now I'm speaking to the shop where I bought it from for a warranty but definitely I will point to motherboard! Your video helped heaps!
Never connect 2 PCI-E plugs from ONE Cable to a multi port GPU unless its a 3 plug GPU Always use 2 different PCI-E cables on each plug on the GPU. Else it will kill your graphics card or even board.
@@yunassahebdel9327 Peripheral Component Interconnect Express officially abbreviated as PCIe. Its designed to replace the older PCI, PCI-X and AGP bus standards. in simple terms its a port you plug the graphics card in.
@@RAVisuals I meant you had a USB device plugged into the bios USB slot on the mother board that will cause it not to post because it thinks your trying to flash the bios. But finishing the video I saw it's probably not that.
The algorithm succeeds yet again! I'm having this exact issue as well(albeit also a burning smell so I'll probably hire an IT company just to be safe), down to the CPU and DRAM lights, though my CPU cooler also appears to not be working. I did check my CPU prior to smelling that and also found no damage to anything so I've been pretty convinced it's the motherboard that is the problem, but I don't want to replace it without knowing for sure. If it's also the cause of the smell, possibly a short, that'd be taking out two birds with one stone.
I’m having the EXACT same issues right now. I’ve tried everything under the sun. My CPU debug LED is on. Plugging cable into motherboard/GPU generates no display at all. Everything turns on and is running like normal. I think my motherboard is shot. Ordering x570 and Ryzen 3700x CPU and better RAM. Hoping that will fix my problem and I have an excuse to upgrade my system. Thanks for reassuring me i’m not crazy.
I had the same problem, But my solution for me was to change the Modular PSU Power cable that goes to your video card Lol. I was even going to buy a new motherboard and PSU the next day too haha
It just happened to me after replacing my ram and enabling A-XMP on the BIOS, it booted Windows the first time but after a reboot the MOBO World wouldnt post
Had a similar issue and after troubleshooting a ton, I came to the same conclusion. I then took the oppertunity to upgrade my mainboard and CPU, which looking back was a very Bad call. I assembled everything and for a month everything worked great, however one evening I saw the signs of electrostatic discharge once again (motherboard rgb never turning off, Keyboard and mice aswell), and low and behold this time my SSD was the next victim. Im ordering a new SSD and this time a Powersupply aswell, which I should have done in the first place. Gonna update here, if the mainboard is still working after everything arrives.
Hey RA Visuals, I really like your video and setup. It’s been days and I’m still currently struggling trying to figure out what’s wrong with my PC. I was gaming fine when my PC suddenly shut off and after taking the main components out of the case and thoroughly doing the standard POST tests, I found out that my motherboard will only run with CPU out. If I put back my CPU in with PSU and GPU connected, the fans and lights would go on for a second and shuts off completely. Any advice?
Holy crap! I was just about to press buy on a new motherboard and I found your video. I have exactly your setup, a Ryzen 1700 with a MSI B350 and my computer for the last couple of months started randomly crashing, the last few days it crashes after 5mins or less. I diagnosed everything, and I mean everything, with no particular component to blame, there's only motherboard or cpu fault left. This video gave me hope that it is the motherboard an not the CPU 🙏
My computer stopped posting or booting windows when I forgot I was still mining and began gaming while mining with both my GPU and CPU. About 5 minutes into gaming my PC turned off and wouldn't turn back on. After letting it sit a bit it started, lights and fans on in case, but then wouldn't post. Just by retrying several times I was eventually able to get it to post and boot windows, but only 1 of my two monitors was displaying. The other said no signal. I got past this by uninstalling and then reinstalling the display drivers. At that point I thought the problem was totally fixed and just a software issue because both monitors were receiving a signal and the PC seemed to be fully working. I decided to try mining again, just GPU mining while running nothing else, and within a minute or two the PC shut off again. Now I'm back to both monitors saying they're not receiving a signal. I've tried restarting several times already, and no posting or booting whatsoever again. I'm thinking it might eventually boot if I let it rest, but I'm still very bummed out because even if I do get it going again I know I've still lost a boatload of the value of the PC. Clearly something has failed or is failing, likely either the GPU or motherboard, and I dont feel right selling the GPU or whole PC without disclosing this, and disclosing issues like this will dramatically decrease what someone would otherwise pay for this stuff. Sux bad.
I am going through this right now. Bought a new PSU, but PC still won't boot. Bought a new mobo and PC was still dead. Bought a new GPU and PC was still dead. Only thing it can be at this point is the CPU, so I have one on the way. If I had spare parts it would make it so much easier to diagnose but I don't have the money to keep spare parts sitting around.
My Asus sabretooth has just done the same. No beeps, fans spin up etc. Beforehand was getting random power down crashes. My mainboards only seem to last around 2 years. Just bought a refurbished gigabyte board as its replacement as not many new lga1150 boards around now.
Great video, but I hope you stay happy, and not going to go through the same thing again and again and again until you take esd procedures seriously. There is so many people who wonder why their pc's go wrong and stop working after never following ESD procedures. Have you ever seen the way rust eats through metal? Its kinda the same thing but not rust obviously, it just will spread the same although its not rust. Many people don't even realise that just touching a motherboard can cause static damage when not following esd procedures its why when those boards are manufactured every single person that touches it wears esd coats gloves, footstraps, wrist straps, and are grounded. They are also working on special esd flooring lol. So doesn't that just show the importance of following esd procedures when doing your own builds? Even when opening up or changing components. 89% of all our repairs have been due to 3rd party companies ie little so called repair shops claiming they are qualified repairsman that never followed esd procedures and charged those customers yet in few months their boards are destroyed. So they all land up unhappy customers because they are then classed as damaged. BR's beyond repair due to being damaged by electro static discharge that came off of a finger or hand. BER = BEYOND ECONOMICAL REPAIR. If electronic devices are worked on while not using esd procedures then 87% of those will eventually get problems and go into repair and all told they need another motherboard. The other 13% are just seriously lucky.
Very insightful! Yeah, I’m not sure what I could have done wrong in this situation as I definitely touched the metal of my case beforehand but this could have been one of those freak mishaps that can happen. Hasn’t happened to me since though!
@@RAVisuals oh good. Bit one touch of a motherboard without esd procedures being used can infact render your motherboard useless months later or even a year or years later depending on where the damage hit, ie the static shock.
@@RAVisuals in some cases people have been so lucky as its just hit and fried a component and as we knew that can just be changed. Just a few pounds on a esd mat wrist strap and plug can save people hundreds in not destroying part of their new builds
@@RAVisuals all that info noone ever covers in their videos, and as I'm a great fan of your UA-cam video I'd like to see you do a video that implements these important facts. yes i had game freezing too had to power the computer off by pressing 4s the power button. reset wouldn't work etc, thought it was the gpu as in the desktop was fine (and stress tests too) but with different gpus same thing. changing the mobo fixed it

@@RAVisuals my cousins getting the same error but only that sometimes it would boot up and games ran perfect only that for 1 sec a few times screen went black again makes so sense right? How can we fix that?
The irony running into this video after my computer died. The difference in my Situation is that I got at least the asus logo from the board then no display and my keyboard and mouse would freeze and I thought it might have been my OS so I put a blank HDD in to install W10 and it wouldn’t even let me do that. So I’m a upgrade my MB and send my current one off since it’s up for warranty and save it for another build. Thanks
Thank you so much for this video. I'm waiting on a replacement motherboard as I suspect I have the exact same issue that you had. It fills me with confidence that my other items are okay and it's just the mobo that has stopped working 🤞
@@RAVisuals Yeah I'm really hoping I haven't caused damage to anything else 😅 mine happened after I plugged in a aRGB fan controller with 7 fans attached. When I powered it on the pcs RGB went rapid so I cut the power.
I'm really sad now. I just got this issue with my Crosshair Hero VIII and I'm cutting it close to the warranty period. I just ordered another psu to see if maybe that was the issue. I did almost everything you did except for the new ram. Even moved the GPU to another slot and no luck either 😭
I know that with my Asus monitor you have to go thru a process when trying to start it after it has been disconnected from the computer by the power cord. I have to start the monitor first before starting the computer or no signal gets through. Just an FYI for anyone who has an Asus or other monitors that have a process before it works. Once you do it, you don't have to turn the monitor on first. But if you disconnect the power cord, you must go thru the process described in the user manual.
Same exact thing just happened to me. I plugged in a usb c phone charger and it shut off. My motherboard was giving me a DRAM light so I got a replacement kit and it didn’t work. After watching this I am now certain it is the motherboard. Thank you sir and you have a new sub!
Currently stuck with a PC thats been sitting unused since 2020, used it for like 3 days since my main PC’s PSU needs to be replaced, and last thing I saw was a blue screen that said there was a r problem and it was stuck on that page. I turned it off thinking it would fix the issue, but now all the PC will do is just run, fans spin, with no signal to HDMI ports, and it won’t boot up. Might just have to get that new 850 PSU.
Same exact issue with me. I have done everything like you. I have an ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z390 and I think my MB is the issue. However, I did order a test RAM stick and another PSU and will test them. I don’t want to spend another $500 on a board. But I may have to. Thanks for the video.
so one thing i will mention. i had an issue with my pc booting up for a split second then shutting off after i changed some RAM clock settings. it wouldn't turn on again until i did a cmos reset. would boot for a good 5 minutes then shut off again. i thought there was an actual issue, but the reason it kept shutting off was: the power button was stuck. i had two things happen in a row, decided to try turning my pc on with the switch on the power cable, and bam. it worked fine. so, ALWAYS check the simple things first.
New working power supply will not turn on when plugged into cpu. When green & black PS lines are “jumped” it powers up. When plugged into pc won’t turn on. No fans or lights
Didn't see if he did a clear CMOS before trying all that, also it is better to test it without the graphic card until you find the problem or end changing the motherboard.
It has come to my attention that many of you missed the first part where I stated that I went through a bunch of troubleshooting BEFORE I started replacing everything in this video. So I made a new video on those steps! Watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/0Vd60NmytXo/v-deo.html

You are very lucky that your mb did not destroyed your cpu like mine did last week.

May need to replace the PC case because some pc case’s back panel is curved outward and need pushed inward to put in the screw to secure the graphic card, so after some years or weeks of use, it pulled things out of place, bow and arrow theory … …
In one of the other cases, each time the power is out in my house, I need to replace the graphic card and installed a graphic card that could POST in the PC, then I install the one that failed to POST back in place and it could POST, so each time the power it’s out I need to repeat that!

@@RAVisuals haha makes sense. Do you have any videos on repairing laptop motherboards?
I've replaced motherboard, cpu ram graphics card and psu... still no signal. Which makes absolutely no fucking sense
@@wra7h could your monitor or the display lead be the problem?
Take out the CMOS battery and unplug the psu for a minute or so and put it back in.
The USB device probably had built up static current, so when it touched the plug, it killed the board. This doesn't happen often because the plugs are supposed to be grounded to the backplate, but sometimes it does happen. It actually happened to me once, only the charge didn't just kill the board but also a HDD connected to it. It all died the moment I plugged in a USB stick.
i believe this is what happened to me here
Does it killed the cpu?
I bricked my main (and only) PC last week, and it’s a pain in the butt. I knew it was the motherboard, so it was a starting point, but to have to reset cmos, and reseat everything is time consuming in itself (which is made more frustrating when nothing works). In the end, I went and bought an upgraded board and new processor, so I ended up with practically a new PC.
Exactly what I did, haha
Last month, 4-year old AMD FX-based PC failed to post. Time to upgrade to AMD X570, Ryzen 5, NVMe, and DDR4. All other components reused and upgraded PC working. My problem was a fried m/b - it happens due to thermal shock of being switched on/off.

Your perseverance is amazing. Keep up the good work.
Thank you! Ill keep grinding!
Always remove CMOS battery and replace sometimes that can be the issue, after that its generally a power supply issue.
Get a cat they said, it'll be fun they said 😂😱😭
I'm facing the same shit bruh 😥
@@Globalgiant.0 Sorry to hear that. I bought a secondhand CPU and motherboard off ebay in the end. It turned out both my CPU and motherboard were fried.
Its was obvious to me, (Technician for 30 years) that you shorted the usb-c port. So you probably blew the usb-c port support ic which went open circuit or shorted to ground.
If you had a multimeter you can check to see if there are shorts around the usb-c port by checking the nearest capacitors to the usb-c ic.
Yeah you're right man! I definitely think that's what it was too.
The problem was the CMOS battery in the motherboard
🤔 yeah you're right, when things fail me i always remove ram and bios battery , disconnect main, power on the switch, then few minutes later put everything back then main, power on and pc boots up again 🤔 now I know why these steps work!

I just got a gpu stand, and some aluminum magic, and now everything's normal
The Warrior محارب wait what???
Can you help elaborate more cause that sounds like an easy solution and would def do it, aluminum magic?
It's definitely not Short, it's common non-posting problem and it has happened to me the 5th time now and it would eventually workd after clearing my cmos and removing 1 of my Rams but now it's completely dead to me like yours and gnna go to motherboard service center to get it checked

It the problem everyone faces when their PC fails to boot you try and diagnose it but without the spare parts to swap stuff about you just can't, your only hope after reseating everything is that clearing the CMOS works otherwise it's time to buy new parts.

Thank you sir! indeed the stars have aligned for me! haha
Dude cool profile picture
all you need is a motherboard speaker and the beep or beeps will tell you what exactly the problem is its much more easier for diagnosis rather than replacing components one by one
This is exactly right! In hindsight, If i would have had one attached to the mobo I could have use that to help my efforts lol
So my pc missing part was Tom.Where can i get and call Tom.
lol I was referring to my friend tom who had an extra GPU I could use for testing 😂
Nevermind, just watched more of the video and you checked :)

I think i am experiencing the same issue. Not sure why my mobo would brick, considering it worked fine before i attempted to install a new AIO, but maybe that is where things went south. Still gonna go through similar steps as you have here to see what my issue is.
I also went through a lot of troubleshooting with my motherboard being the culprit of it all.
U had to replace the mobo? Or did u find a fix?
Somethings causing these motherboards to fail. Doesn't happen quite as often on Laptop builds, I'm done with desktops. To many people with with same problem that happens with normal use means these high end motherboard builds are not reliable.
thanks for the vid dude .....but i need to ask you what you exactly to check for the cpu please ?
Motherboard Power Turns ON but No Starting Window what might be the problem
Do you get a post screen eg:

Press Dell to enter setup
Went through your 23 (22?) point initial checklist and am now currently waiting on new RAM sticks to make sure it's not some weird compatibility issue with my MO. I even updated the BIOS thinking that might do the trick but my PC will only boot when there is only 1 stick of RAM in the A2 slot. This is going to be me in the next couple of weeks.
try using a older version of bios, if not u migth wanna look into changing that mobo specialy if its new and under warranty

Im so sad rn im typing my thesis with my first computer that i build a month ago i save my moneyy for it while im typing the mon
I want to fix my first pc i dont wanna get a motherboard 😭
Hey man, if your PC did turn on and have no display. Try to remove the RAM, clean it with a soft brush and the slots too and put it right back
I’m having the EXACT same issues right now.
Thanks for sharing!
My pc had the same problem as yours, my Mobo was shorted due to short circuit at my house, a transistor was broken.
yeah, definitely no fun!
How did you know that it was a transistor?
This happened to me after swapping my GPU, and yeah it was off when I did.
It just happened to me after replacing my ram and enabling A-XMP on the BIOS, it booted Windows the first time but after a reboot the MOBO World wouldnt post
I turned interpreted graphics on and my computer wouldn’t post
@@iluisr same here :/ solution?
zolution bro? . .same prob
I’m probably not as smart as you guys and you’ll all laugh when I tell you I didn’t have both power cables plugged in.
Gonna update here, if the mainboard is still working after everything arrives.
.................and..........update.............?
@@LITJoe has been running with the new Powersupply for the last 2 years without any trouble
Very cool! I hope you figured it out! I also have a newer video on this subject, check it out if you are still confused!
I have had the exact same problem except instead of a usb c is was me plugging in my new oculus rift s
Yeah, It was definitely not fun!
Sux bad.
Thank you the video was very helpful.
You’re welcome!
Bro just built a new PC for troubleshooting 💀
@@Ulti3695 Hahah. That's pretty much what I did. I was ready for an upgrade anyway. By the way, it turned out to be a dead CPU.
Now i know what type of problem heppen to me, too i can buy a new motherboard. too has will bro thank dude it work's
Chane Clarke 10/10 english
@@dubudahyun9756 thank you bro for that Statement.
I've watched you for a long time through your mistakes and to your good decent builds ;) 1 thing that made me follow you more and like you os because your honest. And you have even in videos pointed out those mistakes you made and highlighted them so others didn't.
yes i had game freezing too had to power the computer off by pressing 4s the power button. reset wouldn't work etc, thought it was the gpu as in the desktop was fine (and stress tests too) but with different gpus same thing. changing the mobo fixed it
Turn on and unplug power cord and quickly plug it up. That fixes it
Same thing happend to me, but my cpu died apparently. It was really strange, i loaded bios optimised defaults and did not get post screen any more, did cmos reset same thing. In pc service they told me it boots no problem with different cpu. Unbelivable, i just loaded freakin bios defaults inside the bios and cpu died...
Sorry to hear that! I hope you get it figured out
Great video mate! It’s all learning, plus now you have spare parts for any future troubleshooting which will save you $ in the long term.
Very true! Thanks you for watching!
Type c is also a display port. It's probably outputting video through the c port.
Dammit, I might have the same problem, but my mobo it's new.
same
Same man my mobo is new fk.
Do you have any updates what's the issue
@@hendycndraad yeah my motherboard died even tho the motherboard is on it doesnt let me boot up to the bios, i changed my motherboard now my pc is fixed :D
Thank you for taking the time to share your problem because the exact same thing happened to me when I used my msi mpg z790i motherboard rear USB C to load my external drive, it left me baffled and confused which I still am as to why it happed.
Exactly the same symptom I've been getting. Thanks!
No worries! Check out my other video on this, It may help you!
@@RAVisuals my cousins getting the same error but only that sometimes it would boot up and games ran perfect only that for 1 sec a few times screen went black again makes so sense right? How can we fix that?
@@Saleem_Bhai same here, did you found the fix?
The irony running into this video after my computer died. The difference in my Situation is that I got at least the asus logo from the board then no display and my keyboard and mouse would freeze and I thought it might have been my OS so I put a blank HDD in to install W10 and it wouldn’t even let me do that. So I’m a upgrade my MB and send my current one off since it’s up for warranty and save it for another build. Thanks
That's what's happening with my pc and thought it was the motherboard to
Sucks :(
What was wrong tho
The mother board died
Thank you so much for this video. I'm waiting on a replacement motherboard as I suspect I have the exact same issue that you had. It fills me with confidence that my other items are okay and it's just the mobo that has stopped working 🤞
it definitely can happen!
I would definitely send that board in and take advantage of the warranty then!
@@RAVisuals yeah I definitely plan to. I have a buddy who's going to test my GPU just in case it is the GPU because that's also under warranty still
@@RAVisuals I bought a new psu and everything is working perfectly now.
Clearing the cmos was one of the first things I did, haha
