At about 1:43 or so in the video, one can see a sort of metal ring amongst the parts you were taking out of the package. However, you never showed that part being used nor did you mention it. I had tried to install a new door lever and have not had any luck. I first tried doing it without the round ring that was also in the package I bought - and it didn't work. That's when I decided to look online to try to see how to properly install the lever - but guess I'll just try again. I had installed a new handle/lever on an exterior door a year or two ago and had no problem at all. Later: I was able to get the handle installed, without the round ring that had been included in the packaging, which I had been trying to fit in before.

Appreciate your work, but the video does not deal with the 2 hardest parts (in my case); 1) getting the long screws to engage with the rotatable plate behind them and 2) getting the lock to work. Thanks for watching, any update? These little mechanisms can be tricky at times.
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders I only managed to get one tight, the other is cross threaded and only in about half way, It will work till I can get something else. It's not loose. Not sure how or if I can get it out to replace, trying not to think about it now

Door won't lock
@@angelajohnson988
Thanks for watching, any update? Is the inner latch mechanism installed properly?
The plate on the edge of the door looks really bad the way you inset it
But why does it not have a key or keyhole? It would be easier

Thanks for sharing your comment. Great question & it’s all about design & appealability. It’s the style of the knob. 😀

I did get it done. It was pretty straightforward. I was just concerned about having to switch the length of it. But it was fine at the factory setting. Once I looked at it, it was pretty self explanatory. Thanks.
