- Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly have kept hip-hop fans entertained for the past few weeks in what is unlikely to be a finished beef yet.
Officially started by the Eminem mention of Machine Gun Kelly on his Kamikaze album, both rappers have gone in on each other, dividing opinion among hip-hop fans over who won or is winning.
They have both released dedicated diss tracks; "Rap Devil" by Machine Gun Kelly, and "Killshot" by Eminem.
Even though many consider MGK's "Rap Devil" to be a better diss track, the majority of hip-hop fans still seem to consider Eminem the winner in the rivalry or at least in the lead.
Understandably so. Eminem is a prolific lyricist and diss rapper.
He is by far, not just the bigger artist but one of the biggest rap artists of all time.
So it can't be easy taking him down or even hurting his image and credibility in a beef, especially not by an artist like Machine Gun Kelly.

Karson Lant what does MGK have? Dr. Dre was already a legend by 1996. He found Eminem in ‘98 and Dre added him to Aftermath because he was really talented. How come he didn’t add MGK if he was so talented? I mean, they’re both on interscope.

MGK Lost badly. 1. Rap Devil was pre written definitely not pre recorded, you can tell it was cause he never responded to anything Em said on any track about him. Rap devil is poppier(easier to listen to/enjoyable), has better blunt lyrical appeal and got the rush bonus (being released almost instantly). Whereas M's is definitely more technical.
The thing here is that although they have somewhat similar styles there are huge differences between them, mgk can't be as technical as M just like M doesn't seem to mind being called out on not keeping up with the trends.

Better rappers throw in more than one or two rhyming mechanisms in their stanzas.
This is called a dynamic rhyme scheme.
If you actually TRULY understood the particulars of poetry and how difficult it is to be that creative with your wordplay, the intellectual capacity required to incorporate a vast vocabulary as some of the best do, then you would understand why MGK stood no chance, period.
Killshot is overrated. No line was even hard. His best bar was the Diddy one.

This is my rating for these tracks:
MGK Rapdevil: 6.5 - Wasn't even a full distrack was more of a rap song than disstrack imo, beat was catchy indeed and some lines made me laugh but come on there were a lot of lazy bars
Eminem's Killshot: 8.5 - Wasn't the best disstrack ever but it was enough to bury MGK in my opinion. He even put double or tripple meanings into these bars and basically dissed him a full song without being repetitive and putting 4 choruses into it. If Em took his time without pressure there wouldn't even be a MGK vs Eminem it would have ended already.

Whenever someone tells me that rap devil was a better diss track, nobody can tell me why. All they say is that it was catchier or that the beat was better. Battle rapping is more lyric based. It’s not about making a hit single. That’s like trying to shoot a 3-point shot with a football. They’re both sports but they’re different sports.
Rap devil was a good song, sure, but it didn’t even come close to killshot when you analyze the bars from a nonbiased perspective. Going bar for bar, eminem dunked on Kelly.
Then the survival of your career is determined by how you act in the aftermath of the beef. Eminem strategically stood silent and watched MGK as MGK bragged about rap devil being number one on iTunes. Then eminem put killshot on iTunes and bumped Kelly down to #5.
Then, MGK had the opportunity to show the entire world who he was by releasing a killer EP that would shut everybody up and put him on top. Instead he released Binge which was just awful. It would fall under the category of mumble rap and he lost a lot of fans that way.
Then he goes on the breakfast, talked about eminem constantly and displayed nothing but arrogance, which also damaged his reputation with a lot of his fans. While eminem is still observing. Yes eminem did an interview also but it was about Kamikaze and only talked about MGK for 5-10 minutes, only explaining why he dissed him in the first place. Then he moved on.
MGK is pretty much done for but he did it to himself.

Rap Devil was a good track that you can bump in your car because it has a better beat but Eminem refuted almost if not all of mgk's points in killshot. He refuted the weird beard with a joking "how you gonna name yourself after a damn gun and have a man bun". Using MGK's lyricism against him. And MGK didn't get the weird beard from one of em's old tracks because he would have quoted it exactly like he did before with other references to em's tracks. MGK also didn't have his facts straight as he claimed "em's last four albums were trash and he should go back to recovery" But recovery (not including kamikaze) was three albums ago. MGK was factually incorrect and looking at the analytics Red Cryptics analyzed both disses in a video and Eminem came out on top. Cryptic broke down each diss track and I highly recommend you check it out.

After looking through the comments i have to say this. MGK's video had two to three scenes total. it sounded nice when listening to only the music, not listening to the lyrics, and when you started analyzing the lyrics, it all fell apart. MGK didn't get his facts straight before attempting to diss eminem, resorted to elementary school insults, and then in an interview claimed that eminem didn't respond with facts citing the man bun line, completely ignoring the actual facts that were 100% accurate. Eminem not only dissed MGK, but had alot of detail in his lyrics, some you would only get if you paid attention and knew your stuff. There was also a youtube video judging the two songs in an unbiased way using real judging techniques. Eminem didn't just "win by default" he blew MGK out of the water, which he and his fans refuse to admit. there should be no argument as to which song won, it was a clear cut winner, no blurry edges, nothing hazy about it.

Honestly, if there's an artist out there that can top Eminem, by all means, they deserve to win. The numbers don't lie, Eminem's net worth is nearly 200 mil. People just like his music. Don't lash out at other artists, who are more successful than you. They set the bar for what's the standard, an artist has to top that standard if you want to win over the fans and win the big bucks.

Dude your not paying attention. The been didn't start on the Kamikaze album. It started during a freestyle on Charlemagne's freestyle show which P. Diddy owns. Shortly after that he made a diss song with tech nine called "no reason", Then yet another freestyle, then he created rap devil last year right after shady made "rap god". After that shady makes not alike, then Kelly released "rap devil" the next day then em waits a well to release "kill shot" something he actually released after hearing the song not like mgk waiting a entire year to release a diss song then claim it took a day to make

Em killed it..I am a long time fan of his but I had been a fan of mgk he needed to capitalize on the momentum that he was getting and have the best damn album ever and he didn't. I listened to it with no biased about the beef and was extremely disappointed. People can hate on me all you want but when you go on an interview and talk mad crap and deliver something like that no wonder why people are mad at you.

When you listen to both songs, lyrically there is zero comparison Eminem had twice as many real disses.... and they were all better… Even MGK made fun of Eminem in this interview by saying “look at this man he’s wrapping about man buns“ when the first line MGK said was your beard is weird… And even Eminem the line about the man bun Had so much more to it calling him stan, son..... Eminem has so much double meaning

Regarding #3 about rap devil being better if it was a level playing field....
Eminem's career works against him as well..since he has a longer career anyone trying to diss him has a lot more content to pick from.
Someone doing a diss track against Eminem is easier because you can quickly mention 8 mile which everyone recognizes, if Eminem tried to reference MGK's movies he would have to exhaust 10 bars just to let everyone know he is an actor.

In this particular case, fan base would not have made a difference to people who know real rap. Eminem's layers, metaphors, lyrical genius, etc. put MGK'S basic rap bars to shame. No competition at all.

Rap Devil achieved what it needed to, which was publicity for MGK. Making a diss track against one of the biggest rappers of all time, then having your name in that rapper’s mouth was a gain for MGK. Em said he’s ‘never thought about MGK’ but Em did not benefit in anyway from feuding with him. As they say ‘bad press is better than no press.’
