To be set on a journey without having doubt or change in your thinking, I assume
Swaying would imply moving left and right thus altering paths due to a lack of discipline, but still move and change, improve in character along a straight path

Having a mind that doesn’t sway means to not lose focus and lucidity about reality. To be present and grounded, levelheaded.
