      I guess you didn't see the 'set to build with construction offices' tool in game I'm using. I've made a point to use it this play through, I can put down 1,000 buildings and nothing will happen whatsoever until I bring out that interface (which is base game btw) and either click or drag a box over the constructions to 'start them'. Add to that a ton of priority from low to high and I'm quite fine with how the construction is progressing. Everything I plunked down will not be started until I drag box them, and in the already existing areas only the critical things are 'high priority' everything else is 'normal' and the oil drilling along with the 'secondary clothing industry' is 'low priority'.
      So, totally safe compared to how I used to do it in the past of 'search out all constructions, JUST BUILD' that isn't happening this time so I don't get a massive back log.

    Bulldozers are way better than excavators for gravel roads, but you probably know that. My first CO is always 2 dozers and 2 dumpers and let them go hog while I plan everything out. When my electrical and road sections get lost in limbo I suspend construction, then start it again and it re-assigns.

      Yep bulldozers are superior for road construction 100%, however these are 'temp construction offices' or as the game calls them 'Free' so my plan was to plunk these down with a little over everything (come to think of it, I think I MIGHT have forgotten a road crane?) and let them build the first 'real' construction offices down there. Then I can pile everything in there and let them build a bit easier and free those 'Free construction' offices back up for deployment elsewhere. That's basically why I called the title 'Second Construction "Outpost" gets Started.' it's meant to do 1 job, setup the REAL construction outposts and then go elsewhere for another project.
      That's why you see the storages going down as well, along with a few in the next episode. These things will be here for a long time building up the massive town to the south. So to make sure they could get everything up as fast as possible, but without micromanaging it all, I gave them 1 of every single machine that would be needed to build those buildings fastest. So the dozers (hopefully) will work on the few roads, while the excavators will (again hopefully) work on the yards and storage areas. Tbh, I'd love if they allowed us an interface per job of 'only allow THESE kinds of machines to work here' to make it a bit more efficient, but I know that would backfire quickly with new players trying and destroying their efficiency.
      And yeah, having constructions stop and having to be restarted is maddening to the extreme. I do a good amount of 'start and stop' construction between videos just to make sure things are getting 'done.' It's one of the only problems I have with the game. If you want to be 'set it and forget it' type of a player, you have to have 2x to 4x the amount of construction yards you need, and that just balloons your costs with 4x the amount of machines being bought and used. I'm doing a 'little' of that now, but I'm trying to keep myself in check and not build 20x Construction yards without a HEALTHY economy to back it up!

    would it be worth adding a road closer to the border station to the top corner of the warehouse district?

      Absolutely, the main reason I'm waiting atm to even put it on there, there is a pretty big backlog, which I know you're already seeing, and I was hoping to put it to the south of that little mountain with coal and iron in it. Or the backside if your looking 'at the clothing factories' that way we don't get the front part by the customs houses overwhelmed and it'll even cost less gravel since there's already a partial road back there.
