The Coil-over install on my Frs took 2 days as well. But Coils and Springs are well worth it . Better handle and ride overall. With my wheel and suspension set up it takes corners amazingly.

Amazing video! Word of advice, next time I recommend u jack up from the unibody frame of the car instead of the pinch welds. The pinch welds are fine if you’re using a hoist but when using a floor jack, it’s quite dangerous to jack up from the pinch welds especially if you don’t have jack stands which I noticed in the video

Use a jack stand too, never rely on the jack to keep the car lifted. Safety tip of the day...
If you’re not tracking the car weekly coils are pointless. You buy coils for constant adjustability on different tracks and conditions. Springs give you the lowered look you want while also improving handling and stiffness. And this car is already so well engineered that a set of springs is absolutely perfect. Even for the track to be honest.

I’ve been debating if I want to lower my 19 Toyota86, it’s already fairly low stock in my opinion compared to most cars, but the wheel gap though...it’s not too bad but it is there. This would definitely be the route I go. Thankyou for the insight.

Use jack stands as well. Very dangerous not having something to catch the weight of the vehicle.

front springs are always coilovers, because the coil (the spring) is over the shock absorber so they are coil over shocks - coilovers.
do you have to torque the Top hat or did you just tighten it

Did you not have to compress the rear lowering spring to install the strut nut back on top? It looks like it just easily threaded on without having to use the spring compressor again VS having to compress the fronts with the lowering springs to get the strut nut back on.

How come you and legit everyone else i watched got the top-hat off with a 17m socket or impact gun and i got held up cause apparently i needed a "through socket" to bite the hex-head in the middle? I wound up pushing up the boot and using channel locks on the cylinder, then the impact gun. But do have any idea why i had this issue and you and the others i watched didn't?

Only question I have is so do you use the spring compression tools so that it doesn’t pop out when you remove the top hat ? I’m a rook and want to reinstall my stock springs back on my c300

My friend wants to lower his gt86 but the problem is in the city i live there are literally speed bumps everywhere and he already has trouble with those with the stock height going over speed bumps but still wants to lower his car so i guess he'll be stuck over a speed bump
