    part of the reason why the Flex line of coilovers are so affordable is in the damper itself. It's a sealed unit that was designed so that it can be almost completely manufactured by automated robots. They can produce more in less time using less parts vs a rebuildable unit. Since the cost of rebuild is often more expensive than buying a sealed unit, it makes a lot of sense for the people who don't do professional racing but still want good quality affordable coilovers.

    I'm glad this video exists. I've been racking my brain over this decision, and while I have to wait a while longer to make this mod, I'm gonna go with Tein coilovers on my GE Fit Sport. While there are many who bash them and yes the old adage applies: you have to pay to play, I'm confident that buying their brand will be a good purchase for my car. Fact is, I don't drive my car that much(only 11K miles since I bought it 2 years ago) and probably won't run into all the issues that others have run into. I want new wheels and that means the car needs to be lowered too, so I'd rather buy something tried and tested and with a good reputation.

    Many Subaru owners in my region love Tein coilovers.
    from the decent sets to fully adjustable active suspensions.
    if you use is track, they got one
    drift, they got it too
    off road / rallying they got that too.
    before Magnaride came about
    Tein already has a system called the EDFC or Electronic Dampering Force Controller and you can adjust your suspension settings on the fly in the car without taking out a wrench or spanner.
    now the latest version can do active suspension settings for daily use or track use.
    running the lowering springs on my Subaru Crosstrek
    will switch over to their coilovers in the future
    10/10 rating

      Fitment Industries I made an account on the website and have been meaning to go ahead and take the required photos for the Gallery. I will definitely do that in the next few days. I also got the H23A with some equal length ramhorn headers to a full exhaust. I make myself laugh all the time when taking sharp corners because when you take 90 degree turns you can make the tires chirp by throwing the car into the corner.
      Also, Thanks for the videos! I really enjoy getting an insider look at the current state of companies as well as their story.

    I remember rebuilding my Tein coilover and every part was unique to their shock. The one thing I don't like about them. Is that they use a 2.75 sprig diameter and not the standard 2.5 so buying replacement springs means going through them.

    The biggest reason why I prefer Tein over any other suspension brand is because of their EDFC system that can either adjust the stiffness on-the-fly or allow you adjust the settings manually from inside the car.
    I don't know if K&W has something similar but I'm Team Green all the way until then.

    When I bought my 96 Civic with a blown engine (has a running H2B sleeved turbo setup now) for $200 I found out after I bought it that it came with Tein coilovers (the springs are the signature green colour instead of black though, not sure if that means anything) once I inspected my car thoroughly. I'm not sure the age of them but the ride quality is amazing for a simple coilover design! (Ride height set to near stock right now, still on steelies & hubcaps lol)

      Anthony Ramirez, I don't know too much about BC Coilovers. I have the Tein's on a 2017 Honda Accord. I have their Super Street-Z coilovers and the total price for the coilovers + some other parts I had to purchase cost about $1,000.00. Here is the reason why I purchased this specific set: there is little to no change in comfort. Plus, you can adjust the dampening (this has to do with the comfort). Overall, I'm dropped 2 inches, my ride is comfortable, close or exactly stock, but very sporty when I set the dampening to a sportier setting.

    I run tein coilovers in my fd rx7 and evo 6.5 tommi makinen, I'm more than happy with them.
    I ran ohlins coilovers in one of my old cars, a wrx sti type-R ra coupe and for the expenditure on a street car in my opinion, it wasn't really worth the extra outlay.
    You can't really go past Tein when considering cost vs reliability and the intended function.

    1 week after tein install: (3rd set of coilovers)
    they ride very nice and im happy with my purchase though comparing to my old set (hsd) on a wrx it was alot more stiffer before,
    the teins arent really that stiff but close... much more of a street coilover i wouldnt get this for a track setup. just an odd lap day.
    no rear camber kinda sucks too given the price. hope they hold up better then my hsds (leaked after 3 years )

    i have a lowered toyota alphard 2005 3.0ltr version , problem is vehicle tends to bottom out when riding rough road surfaces so would it be possible to fit Tein Flex Z coilovers with front strut top spacers reason for the spacers is the Flez Z are already 30.mm lowered

    I have a 2003 Lexus IS 300. Bought a set of Tein Z coilovers. They have two different part numbers. I understand this is for front and rear. But the problem I have, is the front struts I got for my car mounting bracket looks different than the one I see in the brochure. Mine, the front strut, has a single mount bracket and the one shown, in the pictured has a completely different mount. So I looked a the part number and the first four digits are correct but the last, four characters, aren't. Then the back ones aren't even listed in the web site. How do I find out if I have the correct struts? I put my info. into the type vehicle, year, model, and trim. The one that came up looks similar but the model number of the strut is different and I don't even see the rear. Not to mention UPS took forever to get them to me. So I had to go to their terminal to pick them up. The box looked like a bomb hit it. And when I opened it up. One of the mounting studs fell of, and I had no spanner wrench to adjust the struts. I did contact The Fulfilment Industries company, but they are closed on the weekends. Confused.

    I like Tein. I've been running their Street Basis Z on my 2010 Honda Fit for about 6 months now and have little complaints. I can restore/improve my OEM ride quality for $444. That's a better price than getting lowering springs and aftermarket struts. What's not to like about that?

    Is it true if you opt for a lowering springs (ex Tein S Tech) in the long run your oem suspension will wear out rapidly? Compared to just getting a Tein Coilovers? (Ex Infiniti Q50S RWD)

    I run Flex Z's on my IS300 n have been kicking myself since I got them. Got them bc of how much people have talked about how good Tein coilovers r over the years, n the fact they were about 200 dollars less than what I had planned on running (BC Racing or Fortune Auto). I had BC Racing coilovers with Swift springs previously n they were way better. Each click of the damper adjuster could b felt with the BCs, with the Flex Zs I can barely tell the difference from full soft to full stiff. Spring rates r kinda on the soft side for my liking as well, n its not as easy to upgrade to a stiffer spring with the Flex Zs. Idk if its just this line of coilover from them or what

    • @FitmentIndustries
      @FitmentIndustries  5 років тому +1

      Yeah, I have heard from a fair amount of our fans that the one thing they do not enjoy about Tein is that the spring rates are a little bit more on the soft side, But for the price you can't argue, Your Lexus sounds dope man you should upload it to our gallery! bit.ly/2Ma4oca

      I was thinking of getting those for my IS as well, not trying to slam the car, about a finger & a half gap all around is my goal. On full stiff is it floaty on the highway at all? Even a little bit? Thanks in advance!

    • @urdad1984
      @urdad1984 5 років тому +1

      @@I2obbie12 ive got mine lowered to a lil less than what to ur looking for n on the highway it can get a lil floaty. I also run them near full stiff damper setting ~12 of 16, n its still floaty. I run sway bars, poly bushings n spherical bearings, n chassis bracing front to back, top n bottom, still doesnt make it as stiff as id like tbh. Im def switching back to BC Racing, highly recommended

      @@FitmentIndustries the price savings was what made me go with them for sure, n figured theyd b close to on par with the bc's/fortune auto 500's, esp since teins site had em rated at closer to performance/light track duty than some of their other offerings in the price range

    • @I2obbie12

      Smart Feller damn that makes me sad! :-( i figured the 10k/8k would be fine on the IS but I guess Ill save for the BCs… thanks again

    So how do I know which price point will improve my current ride quality. For instance I own a 15 sti, is the OEM suspension better than the cheapest coilovers tein produces?

    • @60brianaguilar
      @60brianaguilar 5 років тому +2

      Brandon Reid I really don't think so man. I think it's like a basic strut/coil. But it will lower that bad boy down good. But if you looking for performance you might want to pay that extra cash bro

    • @Triple259772
      @Triple259772 5 років тому +3

      60brianaguilar stick to oem or get bilstein kits for your car. Bilstein is what you have, and they are already very good quality.

    • @FitmentIndustries
      @FitmentIndustries  5 років тому +1

      Yeah, these guy's have a good point man if you are looking for performance save the cash and get a nice set of coils from maybe Bilstein or KW, But if you are looking to just improve ride quality I would maybe recommend a set of coils from Silvers! Otherwise, you can shoot us an email at wheels@fitmentindustries.com and we can see what all is available for your ride! bit.ly/2p2oJa5
