@@jontay4199 Village in MHGU is scaled to a single player experience but once you enter the hub whether or not your by yourself or with friends it is instantly scaled to 4 players. One good tip is NOT to use add-on content armor (black belt) and weapons (defender) or the game is too easy (unless you want to rush to the Master Rank / Sunbreak). I started from the beginning after 15 hours because I didn't realize they were overpowered. The game felt too easy with those items so I started to lose interest.
This game is heavy with systems and Mechanics, a good way to ease new players into learning so many Menus, Buttons and Button Combos, learning how to navigate even the item bar and wheel. This game is hugely complicated, and people also want to try out different weapons, tis a shame people who tried out bow, hated the game and quit cause the hunt took 50 min and they failed.
TIPS for New players that guides overlook: 1. On your weapon tree, you will see some weapons but it has ???? instead of showing the weapon. Lets say on the left the weapon is in the Ore category but the weapon on the far right only has ????, basically what that means is you dont have the material yet for that weapon to show. All you have to do is mine more rocks to get that material or its in the next HR (each time you go up HR new material unlock, so you'll be getting ore you never heard of). The same goes for monster trees, you're just missing a new material or a material that hint dropped. Try to google that part of the tree and it will show you the materials needed and you can then figure out what you want to do next. 2. In the weapon and armor tree if you look at the bottom left is has a button for "sub menu", if you see a weapon you want or a specific armor piece or an entire set, you can select that and add it to your wish list. Outside of the menu you can hit select anytime and go to wish list to see individual pieces needed and what you have. Also as you get the correct items there is a notification that comes up telling you that you have gotten the materials for your wish list. Super helpful. 3. If you dont know what to use your buddies for on the submarines and you're happy with how much honey and potions you have, a good thing to get is "might seed", and "adamant seed". You're gonna need those to make stronger strength and defense buffs in the future, they are the base things. But as a low rank hunter HR 1-3 you can eat the seeds as they are to get strength and defense boosts and they helped me out alot. 4. When you have to do the mission to carry the egg, you can run as much as you want but let your stamina get to 0 and you can drop the egg. Also falling from high places you drop the egg (you have to press O on ps5 to hang and catch yourself before hitting the ground). Also I always catch myself using O on PS5 as it propels you further than just doing another wire bug. So you can use wire bug while carrying the eggs (thankfully), just make sure not to aim super high in the air or you'll accidentally go to high which will cause you to drop egg. So aim straight and yes you can climb the big vines carrying the egg. 5. Skill binds, its been said multiple times but the skill leveling tree confused me so I'll explain what I did. There are 3 different ways you're going to unlock all your skill binds. At Hr 1-3 Master Uchi will give you one set of skill binds for all of the weapons. After that, (and this is what confused me) you have to level your weapon to unlock the second skill-bind. So what does that mean? Lets say your main weapon is the Long Sword, what I did was go through and forged/upgraded the cheapest weapons in the Long Sword catagory (also if you see a weapon on the far right of a specific list in the tree you want in the future, use this to start upgrading to that weapon so you're not just wasting all your money). So basically I went to the ore long sword and unlocked it, I went to the bone long sword and unlocked it etc after 8 forge/upgrades, Master Utichi will have a bubble over his head and he will give you a new silk bind for the Long Sword only (why I said do this for main weapon, you can only unlock for the specific weapon you upgrade/forge 8 times, after while you'll have them all by naturally playing the game and using different weapons). So then if I wanted to get the next one for the hammer, I would go to the hammer tree and forge/upgrade 8 weapons in the hammer tree. Then finally you'll have the last set to unlock, at HR5 in hub rank he will give you a batch of quests that are for each weapon, the HR 6 he will give you another batch , and then the final batch. They come in quest of 4, hopefully your weapon of choice will be in the first batch :) Bonus Tip Personal advice- I had the defender stuff, if you bought the expansion to level fast make sure to sell the gold eggs etc you got to get 100k+ gold. I love the defender, at HR 3 they will be useless. Again, village quest is easy, hub rank is hard. I personally finished village quest first without doing any hub, they will increase your rank in hub so you dont have to do the same quests over again. I think after you finish village you'll have an idea of the game and be ready to start hub. Also the quest board he showed in this game, use it, always. I find the quest I need to do, I eat, I go to the quest board, select that quest and I immediately join with other hunters to play. You can request players to join you but sometimes you might be fighting alone and thats up to you if you're comfortable with that. Hub does scale with players, but having 4 players makes fight so much easier. Please dont fight hub out of the gate and no play bc its too hard etc. you'll notice a huge difference.. enjoy the game through village, build your kit, and practice combos to get ready for hub. Final thoughts, weapons.....- super controversial but I will say this bc I dint know it as a brand new player (Bow, Heavy bow gun, and Light bow gun) are notorious for being the fastest kill weapons in the game. I dont play them, but I always thought they sucked, they dont. Maybe you'll be good with them? I started with hammer, super easy, and strong and simple. I used it all the way to HR 5, loved it, until I didn't. I tried all the other weapons and one of them worked for me. The thing was, as a new player I still didn't understand the real concept of fighting etc. also, the combos shown to you in the training room ARE NOT THE ONLY COMBOS FOR THE WEAPON. I ended up watching weapon guides and wound up back on the started weapon, the long sword. Why? The counters, I didn't even know you could do that. Using the long sword I can get hit and turn that into damage against the monster while taking no damage. LS has 3 different counters that are all very useful. It really is an S tier weapon. Im not going to sit here and say use the LS, but I will say please, please watch actual guides on the weapon you enjoy. There is so much these weapons can do that I didn't know about as a new player because I thought the training screen had all the combos on the screen. It really does change the entire game, its the one thing I wished I knew starting. Thats about it, I'm new too, started playing bc SunBreak is about to release on PS5. I'm HR6 now so if anyone wants to play or you have questions then please ask. I am non stop grinding to be ready for SunBreak! Its gonna be awesome!
& oh yeah, when you do the urgent quest that requires you to fight an apex monster in rampage.... please watch a guide before you do that. I'll put it like this, nothing stops an Apex monster on a rampage. It's NOTHING like you've EVER seen before. Even with tips its hard to manage, but trust me on this.. you want a gameplan, spefically when fighting an apex.
Great vid bro. You’ve got my sub. I’m an old school hunter from world and I’m super excited/ worried about all the changes that arise has. I hear everyone saying this one is way faster and easier, I really hope that’s not the case. Thanks for the tips! Can’t wait to put them to use!
My only complaint for rise is Why did they take the tool tip/weapon tip off? Really it should be an option.... Like in MHWorld you see your combos and button presses that you can do on screen as you hunt and not just in the training area. It helps for ppl like me that wanna try most or every weapon.. Also I would say go to options and change your camera to fixed and zoom out the field of view it helps fighting monsters when you're a new player... And change auto sheathe to maunual it's a pain in the rear when it puts your weapon away and you want it out still bcuz you knocked the monster out or paralyzed it 😂
My first day on this game. I had around 800 hours on MHW on xbox. I’m playing this on xbox series x. It’s taking me some time to adjust to the speed and wire movements
I like to have the characters voice at least somewhat that u can hear it if you are a newer player it helps because sometimes when a monster is about to do a really strong attack like for example Rathian doing a backflip my hunter yells watch out so u know to be carefull because the monster its going to do a really heavy attack
You can go straight to hub quest if you want to enjoy the story together with your buddies everything is still the same just the monsters are stronger like you said so if you plan on playing with friends from launch do hub quest your village quest will unlock as you progress
I’ve been playing it on the switch but I bought it for my ps5 too. I did think it was going to be rise and sunbreak but after I downloaded it I realize sunbreak was coming out later in the spring which is fine. This will hold me over until Hogwarts Legacy and Wild Heart.
Oh I wish I found this video earlier … been solo hub quest smashing … I’m at 7 star for hub … I really wish I knew it was faster if I did village quests instead
I got rise like 3-4 months ago on switch and then in december they announced a ps5 release. I will still be getting the ps5 version since it will be a better experience

If i may about trun off the voice of the char if you are new player i will advice to not put in 0 put down a bit but even if its anoying at times it can also help when monters do special moves. The chars always say something before. So be ready
Question folks. It has been playing this game. Last I played was Iceborne. Any Hunters looking to team up. I am asking to find others. I am on Xbox. I am liking Rise.
630 hrs on switch and will still watch this, lol see if i miss something, also do you have an efficient spiribugs collecting routine for every map? I like collecting those before hunting.
Just got the game (today), new to MH entirely.. you do very well at making this game make sense while not sounding demeaning! Thank you for that Also, only barely above 120k subs?? You sir, are EXTREMELY underrated! Great videos!!
Eating is one of the most important thing you have to do. How can you fight on a empty stomach. And get a FULL health bar not 50% you gotta find those little bird/bugs that give you those ( + ) buffs.. that’s how you fill up your health bar. Unlike world we could’ve just take a max potion but that only fills up the available health bar not the remaining bar
Cant wait For sunbreak. Played on switch Till The free title update 3 around 300-ish hours of sunbreak, but real Life got intoway. Gonna start from The begining on My ps5 and use switch mostly on mhgu from now on
i recommend starting build guides again bro so your channel can pop off when the game drops. ppl usually steer clear from videos years ago since game changes nerfs and buffs happen
Best tip I can give is to play the way you want to play. I got caught up in meta sets and trying to finish quests as fast as possible and this is why I stopped playing MH, having your health tick down, trying to do all this stuff during the hunt to activate this or that effect- drained the fun right out of the game for me. Unless you like doing all that goofy stuff to uber optimize dps, then don't do it.
Definitely mess with the camera settings… been playing on super fast for those quick monsters that jump around a lot you can easily follow them . And believe me you won’t lose control after the 1st 2nd 3rd hunt if you’re really trying to use it.. you’ll get use to it and realize you don’t have to swing just flick
Thanks for the video! Im just start this week and it help me. Is it possible to get that “One Piece Admiral jacket” piece skin in the base game or do i need to buy the expansion ? Saludos from Mexico Homie!
I got interested in this game but i dont know because i didnt like mh world. It is too bad it is only digital. But i want to love a Hunter game. Your videos are making more interested. I really love your videos for a new commer into the genre which would you recommend Rise or Wild Hearts?
I'm almost certain that hub quests are not scaled for 4 players lmao. Dont waste your time like I did by doing the village quests and then Hub quests. You'll just have to do the same quests twide.
I’m still on iceborne but getting kinda burnt out from playing it for so long just beat velkhanna so you think I should try playing sunbreak now or wait till I finish iceborne?
any recommended video about how to play greatsword or how it plays, im a switchaxe main and now i want to try the og weapon greatsword, i keep fainting for some reasons(greedy maybe) and i want to master it.
Just bought the game on switch as it was on sale for $15. And damn, i'm overwhelmed but your tips really do help a lot! Loving the game so far.

Question folks. It has been playing this game. Last I played was Iceborne. Any Hunters looking to team up. I am asking to find others. I am on Xbox. I am liking Rise.
Great channel, thanks for the Starting Tips! I subbed
I remember you back from For Honor! Excited I stumbled upon your videos again😁
Nice man! Thanks for supporting, you playing Monster Hunter now?
@@DearGamerTV anytime! And yup I haven't played since MHW so I'm kinda rusty but I am loving MHR!! I like the change in combat. Also the doggo😭
630 hrs on switch and will still watch this, lol see if i miss something, also do you have an efficient spiribugs collecting routine for every map? I like collecting those before hunting.
What’s the layered armor ur wearing? Looks sick
Appreciate you my dude!! I know you kinda see it as your job coming with videos but credit to the effort big bro
Thanks for your support man! I work full time and do UA-cam on the side. It’s a grind but I love it.
Great tips and tricks video. I’ll most certainly do a lot of what you said
Great! Thanks for watching, please sure it online.
Just got the game (today), new to MH entirely.. you do very well at making this game make sense while not sounding demeaning! Thank you for that
Also, only barely above 120k subs?? You sir, are EXTREMELY underrated! Great videos!!
Thank you so much Mulurpie, we will get there one day.
i tried first on hub quest damn it was amazing and i couldnt complete the mission just 1 large bear type monster took me almost 1 hour
I am a LongSword users and man hahah my timing is almost a sec late on countering. More practice aahhh. lol
Cant wait For sunbreak. Played on switch Till The free title update 3 around 300-ish hours of sunbreak, but real Life got intoway. Gonna start from The begining on My ps5 and use switch mostly on mhgu from now on
I was waiting for this
You can go
Into settings and adjust them like pc don’t forget to do that
This is a top-notch video, I really appreciate it, thanks a lot
Subbed, looking forward to the PS5 release, haven't play MH since world... I'll be coming back for your build video for sure!! Respect 😊
Great video man, very nicely done.
Thank you so much Shin
@@DearGamerTV you bet, I hope it get hundreds of thousands more views, this is excellent for new and old hunters too.
Thanks for the video!!
Thank you man I’m new I went straight to the hub quest just to get humbled💀
Lol it’s like that man, welcome to the community.
i recommend starting build guides again bro so your channel can pop off when the game drops. ppl usually steer clear from videos years ago since game changes nerfs and buffs happen
Dango ticket tip made me subscribe, thanks!!
Thank you for the information!
Aye thanks for this video
Love your video thankyou. I may buy it I'll try to convince my partner to buy 😊🥰
Watching him call Rathian a him and a he was so frustrating lol SHE is literally called the queen of the land 😂
A lot of people don't really pay attention to things like that. It's not really a big deal
IM MOTIVATED!!!!⚔️🔥🔥
I’m just waiting for sunbreak dlc I finished everything so just waiting for that it still a awesome game tho
Really useful video. I'm new to the series. I just started playing on Gamepass. There's a lot to learn!
Thanks for the tips. 😀
You’re welcome! Also, welcome to the Monster Hunter community.
Thank you thank you....
I need help with the buddies I feel like it’s too much lol
Thanks for the video! Im just start this week and it help me. Is it possible to get that “One Piece Admiral jacket” piece skin in the base game or do i need to buy the expansion ? Saludos from Mexico Homie!
It’s exclusive to Sunbreak, thanks for watching enjoy.
Thank you
You’re welcome
I got interested in this game but i dont know because i didnt like mh world. It is too bad it is only digital. But i want to love a Hunter game. Your videos are making more interested. I really love your videos for a new commer into the genre which would you recommend Rise or Wild Hearts?
I would recommend Rise over Wild Hearts
Beautiful video can't wait for rise 😍

Ty
Love the content . i just started MHR but may i know how to increase Hunter rank?
Very late comment, you need to do key quests in the hub to unlock urgent quests, after completeing these urgent quest your rank will increase.
I'm almost certain that hub quests are not scaled for 4 players lmao.
Dont waste your time like I did by doing the village quests and then Hub quests. You'll just have to do the same quests twide.
If you do village Quests you gain access to special quests that allow you to skip hub low rank so you don't need to do it twice.
Dn't know it you made it to any of the Apex's yet but man at HR 4.
love man
I would listen to this voice explain anything
Hey bro do you have a dual blade build. I just started
When do I unlock the crossbow?
I’m still on iceborne but getting kinda burnt out from playing it for so long just beat velkhanna so you think I should try playing sunbreak now or wait till I finish iceborne?
