I love seeing how enthusiastic you are when you're talking about the cows health and happiness. They give us such great products to eat. It's only fair they have a happy life. You and Ginge are the warriors that do this day in and day out. So thank you to you all 👍👍👍💙💙💙🥇🥇🥇
Man In The Mirror, Michael Jackson Tom.
Brilliant vlog again. Don't wear yourself out, though. The farm looks phenomenonal, it's come so far since I started watching you, during Covid! See you September for holiday food!
Top Tips from Tom should be a regular segment.
Oh my late mum dated a guy who worked for Massey out of Holmes Chapel, she used to love going to work with him delivering feed and said there was never a dull moment as often farmers needed an extra pair of hands. I really miss her excitement and childlike wonder when she talked about the amazing farms she visited, she cherished how she was treated like part of the extended family by the farmers. We are proper townies so as you can imagine helping birth a lamb or herd an escapee well it was million miles from anything she'd ever experienced. An of course she'd bring home game (you would have laughed at us two townies trying to pluck & prep a brace of pheasant) and omg the cuts of beef/pork/lamb as well as produce grown on the farms. You farmers are always such generous folks.
Another great video the young cattle are looking great Tom 👍👍👍
Your enthusiasm is contagious.
Great video Tom the calf’s are looking well and keep up with the great work and videos 👏👏👍👍
Fantastic video Tom thanks for keeping us all entertained animals looking amazing. Keep the videos coming and Happy Farming
😂 when you started counting the calls, they all put their heads up 😂
Great video again Tom,I like the variety in your weekly videos, always something different.
That is a lot of work. Looks good for calves having more room. Take care.
Man in the mirror 🪞🎵. Great video good luck with all the farm jobs 👍👍👍
Another top tip for the strings. Cut by the knot. Then pull the knot. The rest of the string pulls out cleanly. Or if you want to spread the bale pull the cut end so the knot pulls through the straw and helps spread it out.
Well done . Informative 👍👍👍. Thank you for sharing. Be safe 🇨🇦
Another chill morning with my coffee watching Tom on the farm!
i really enjoy watching your videos Tom . it's better than TV .😜
Good one Tom lots of different topics your summer man is doing a good job for you sure keeps Bussey.
grand video tom ..............day in the life!!!
keep them coming
Congratulations on the calves! They look awesome! My great uncles usually gave us kids small chores to do, like making hay rakes. We'd cut up some 1"x8"s (2.5cm x 20cm) into 3 foot (91cm) long and 4 inch (10cm) blanks, peg the 4 inch blank to the 3 foot blank center, drill a bunch of 3/8" (9mm) holes, and one 1-1/2" hole at an angle in the 4" support block. Put dowels in the small holes and push a 1-1/2 rod in to the hole in the support block. Then the learning started as we all realized that the handle needed to be sanded or else you got splinters, you undersized all the holes by 1/16" so the fitting was snug, you only used wood because cows can crush it when they walk on it, they had us put up racks at both ends of the barn to both keep them handy and keep the cows from mouthing them... I'm pretty sure they gave the worst away. It kept us busy, we had something to show for the work, he made us use only the hay rakes we made so we learned that lesson of 'if you make bad work, you will pay for it more than once' and taught us how to fix our mistakes and get on with the job at hand. Almost every hay rake we all made broke or fell apart, and we put'em back together again. One uncle spent time in Japan, and he had a couple of books on Japanese joinery and some Japanese cabinet making tools.... he did cabinet making before the war, and after, and he taught us a few tricks but only after we made all the mistakes you could.
Good luck with the Highland Dairy X , hope you get the best of both out of the parents. 😊
Beautiful calves, love the highland mix. Thanks for sharing, especially on the cows and farm tasks! 😇💜
Imagine going college for a farming apprentice and you end up just jet washing everything 😆😆
Hi Tom, there is always something needing to be done on your busy dairy farm/farmshop and before you know it you'll be in the new milking parlour. I think its great to see you raise all your calves, the female's to eventually move into the milking herd and the males go for the farm shop. Say hello to your Dad and all the other workers who appear on the video, they are all part of your dairy farming team. Stay well. Chris from Australia 🇦🇺.
I'm watching this in my house, I've now memerised Tom's top tip 😂😂😂 the closest I've ever come to that much staw is cleaning out the Rabat cage as a child. I appalutley love your videos. Seeing the sheer amount of work you all put in, day in day out to provide us with the food we all eat. How much you care about you cow's. Thank you for being so awesome, and that goes to everyone who works on your farm. P.s. I bought some TP murch ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great vlog Tom I absolutely love this channel and awww toffee ❤
Good morning from Canada. Love your videos
Another great video, great to see the young stock
Happy cows, happy Tom!
Loved the Wash clicks. 👍👍🇬🇧
Several u tubers I have watched start with “ get the drink of your choice…”. Today I discovered I put a piece of metal through a soaker hose and duct tape won’t fix it so I took a break to see what popped up on u tube. I grabbed a big glass of milk ( my drink of choice ALWAYS ) sat down and found that you posted a new video! It is a holiday in the US SO DOESN’ T SEEM LIKE A TUESDAY so you totally caught me by surprise! A very pleasant surprise indeed! So exciting to watch the parlor progressing and all the other changes/ upgrades you are making! Thanks for all your hard work with the cows and the extra work of videoing it for us.
Good video Tom seems a good move with old bales used for bedding , nice calves 👍👍hope everyone feel ok today about 80% myself 👍👍
About 95% today here in Australia 🇦🇺 Have a good one mate.
great content tom i miss farming was a great 10 years
Happy4th family may all your troubles be small ones
Great top trip cutting strings on bales in straw chopper👍🏻
Another very interesting video Thank you 😊😊😊
Great video enjoy watching it 👌.keep up the good work
Lovely work Tom
Who doesn't like to see happy cows? Just had the dry cows move into the paddock behind my house. Far more sensible than the calves. They don't try to smash the fence down and eat the potato haulms.😉😉
Edit: Should have said fences (plural) Fence 1: 4ft sheep net, fence 2: 3 strand barbed wire, fence 3: electric. All you need is a flat battery or a dodgy connection and the calves need no more encouragement to give it a go. 🤣🤣
Instead of keeping them in a building, why didn't you turn them out and then they're cheaper to keep?
Tom it’s easier to put the round bale the opposite way you had it just on the back door to load it then cut the net then once you lift the door it will roll the bale into the straw chopper and the net will just come off once you grasp it and the bales feed into the straw chopper easier
Hi Tom hope your having a nice day
Hi Tom, and crew respect for Hereford
Well better to use as bedding than just i the miden
Lovely work Tom, you’re doing fantastic job keeping on top of all your tasks day in and day out! It does show how much you put into life on & off the camera. I don’t know how often you hear this but honestly mate hold your head high and don’t stop! Your juggling a lot of plates and doing a grand job T👍🏻
I love Toffee lovely little lady! Great film as usual, looking forward to the parlour finished and up and running.
Good job Tom
Thanks Tom on tip. For opening big bales always hating pulling strings off the darn thing s😊😊😊
Lol. I love your “Top Tips from Tom”!!!
Good afternoon great video as always keep up the great work and videos and mind yourself tom and ginger warrior
Them calves should b out and not moved to another shed in the middle of the summer. A lot less work when out and less silage to make just makes sense
If that highland x is a bull calf find him a pal and train them up as oxen , they look grand pulling a milk float round St Ann’s 😊top work again Tom
Highland mix calves our cute and beautiful . Good video Tom
Mary from Fla USA got compliments on my crew shirt from a local Highlander owner.Thank for a quality shirt.
What a great Tuesday video happy cows happy ginger guy happy time lots of muck lots of straw that will be muck. Be well be you
Hi Tom. Great videos. Have you found any difference in the grass where you sprayed the supersoil after applying it
All good stuff Tom
I was at the shop on Saturday filled my water bottle at the milk dispenser and bought a sandwedge and stuff to have on the ride home to Glasgow. I stoped my bike on top of shap fell and really enjoyed it all. So thanks to whoever at the shop makes the sandwedges and the milk shake was excellent
I was on Shap Fell working at Shap Fell quarry, beautiful part of the world, then up to Adbington.

i down tools when u upload a video😂 love the videos❤
I’ve 10 or 12 old round silage bales you can have if you can use them - just outside Hambleton.
Hey, Tom, the job's a good 'un.
A few years back, we only had lots of hay here and bed up with it as well it all got used and saved wasting it.
Sadly my hay had to be stored out side.
great video tom
August 12 before you are milking in the new parlor. Is my guess 🤔
Song in Man in the mirror 👌
great idea Tom, saves the pennies being spent on straw. The highland x is a proper chunky monkey, be interesting to see how it grows
Really enjoyed that one :)
Tom... It's so obvious how much you love and care for your cows.
Tom didn’t drop the ASHES (cricket) 12:58
16:51 great content again
Never waste somthing you can use Old Hay makes GREAT bedding..
Can you put up a bonus one today of the parlor, I thought we get it following on from the last one
You made the right choice. You are not feeding it. It is only going to get worse. Use it to free up the space.
I have only been watching you for 5 months and love your videos. Just wondering can you explain how much land you own as I get confused when you drive from place to place lol.
PS... slowly working my way through all your videos
Please do an update on hanging holly for ringworm. Did it work (in your opinion)?
Hi Tom love the videos. You must love going to Ireland where in Ireland are you heading for
6th! GOOD MORNING TOM,LUKE,HIEDI, AND THE GINGER WARRIOR WITH A MUSTACHE! Roger in Pierre South Dakota USA
Tom's Top Tips sounds like an idea for some 'shorts'!
Have fun in ireland think I heard u said killarney might meet u if u are travelling to kenmare. 😊😊
Great video tom how many cows can you milk in your new parlour
T-shirt suggestions… “Top Tips from Tom!” ..Leave one string on!
Calves are looking great. Too many is better than not enough
Michael Jackson - Man in the Mirror
Love these episodes Tom! Please keep ‘em coming!
Good video Tom 🐄🤘🤟
Wow! So many calf’s. They are always so cute! Will the highland cross have the big horns? Is one breed more dominant when cross bred? The cows are looking great! I love it when they kick up their heels! Hope Jo is doing well! Take care. God bless! ❤️🙏🏼🥰😎👋🏻🇨🇦
Morning Tom
love to see calves jumping around.
did not know you also had ducks around ... or were they jsut visitors ???
Put round bales on the back door the other way around. Cut the net at the back, take off over the top, then raise the back door, and it'll roll in and off the rest of the net.
Wow thats a lot of baby cows Tom
I thinnk the gold course bales are a whole in one. although not the best for feed great for bedding, saves $$$ on straw. if it has feed value they'll eat it. Add the poop and it will make great compust or muck!
We have used hay this way works well but not chopped. 2 straw on 1 hay
bidding string is the best thing around
12:59 right when you grab it UA-cam went to commercial. The timing 😂
Watching this just makes me miss our cows a little more. :(
Will you be at the Ftmta show in Ireland
Well Tom, just wondering why you don’t just let the calves out to graze and give a few bags of cake outside rather than feeding them inside and having to bed them?????
Hi Tom, what is the price of a nice cut of beef like in England, here in Australia it's gone up so much in the past 2 years it's been difficult for us to find and afford the good
Love the vids. But are you ever gonna sell one of the green tractor or the grey ons and buy a fastrack.. soon we need a jcb fastrack on the Chanel.
