Tom, congrats on the birth of twins for Harriet!!! Do you do this Tom, when I was young and helping out at a family friend's dairy farm, we used to collect dry pats and put them in hessian bags to earn some extra money. I didn't want to do it but realised it was one way of making my keep as a 15 yr old. LOL
If your grass ia getting too heavy you should consider pre mowing the section of the field that you plan grazing your cows on! We do that here in Ireland and the cows love it and they eat every single blade of grass no matter how heavy the pasture was before pre mowing it, trust me you should try it and I guarantee you wont regret it Tom, love your videos and hope to see one on pre mowing if you decide to do it🤌
Thanks for continuing to share and illustrate the mental health impact. The parlour is a once in a generation activity and those are non routine and major! All the best and take care.
Congrats to Harriet and hear calvs. We have had a big problem on our farm one cow we saw was acting strange a week agove. Got the vet out but the cow past away of heartfaliure so now we are hand feeding hear calv that is almost a mount old so a sad story but we have save the calv whitch is good. Have a great day tom and your farm
Woohoo, way to go Harriet! The twins are so adorable. 💗 Glad the rain is helping your field condition - always a worry especially with the weather being so topsy-turvy... You've got so many balls in the air right now, Tom. Take care of yourself. Love seeing your content, but pull back on the cadence if it will help you be less stressed. Hugs.
It is very nice to see you so happy I was worried about you because you weren't your normal self but now you've got your baby's you are so much I enjoy watching you all the way from New Zealand
we had a wet winter and we still have drought conditions, north of us Canada is on fire and flooding the east coast of the USA with smoke. They are putting some water back in the reservoirs but it would take heavy rains all summer and another wet winter to "start" to make a dent in the drought, I envy your green fields. Green grass makes happy cows , keep on Farmin
Biggest mental health lesson I learned after becoming a dad was "It's OK to not be OK". Both myself and my wife really struggled. We were surrounded by people who were overjoyed at becoming new parents, grandparents but for us we didn't have the support network and were dealing with a lot on our own. The pressure to be happy loving parents when you're both depressed and struggling compounded the issue. My wife eventually got medical help and I did the usual man thing and gave myself a shake. 4 years of struggling and I eventually had a minor breakdown. It wasn't until a friend confided in me about his feelings that I realised that what we went through wasn't unique to us and talking to someone was indeed "a problem shared is a problem halved". When any colleague now becomes a father I ask how they are doing because often the focus is purely on mother and baby and the father is forgotten. Olly talking to you and then you and your father talking to each other, and it seeming strange, highlighted how little we talk about our mental health. I mention this because you touched on it in this video. I've said it before, Your fantastic upbeat and positive drive makes these videos uplifting and joyous and I thank you greatly for it.
Double Blessings!!!! That would lift everyone's day. She is soo teeny tiny!!! I suggest naming them Ginger and Snap because Sbap was a Surprise n well they are Ginger Highlands, not taking away from Ginger Dad heehee. Very Awesome Day!!!!
😍Wow! TWINS 🥰, way to go Harriet 🧡. Thank you Tom for taking around with you and it was nice to see joy coming from you with the Highlands having health calves.
Thoroughly enjoyed the video, as always. The Highland calves are adorable but the highlight for me was at 13:54, when the lead cows were strutting their stuff in perfect sync with the music. Kudos if it was an intentional edit, bonus points if it just played out that way!
Another great video. Congratulations to Harriet and her little ones. Nice to see all the cows in the fields. Your videos are big pick me ups in my days. Already looking forward to the next post.
I'm so excited to connect with you in this exciting UA-cam community. I've always been captivated by the wit, humor and charm you bring to life in your videos.
Nice to see that the astro turf is still channeling the cows along the side of the pasture. If you have more of the turf, maybe put some around the gates that get the muddiest?
Caves are beautiful, your decisions to graze were spot on, l admire how you think everything through every which way 10 times, beat your thinking up but in the end all comes out very good. Great job Tom
Aww! Well done Harriet! Twins! What a lovely surprise! You're right in what you say, something like that can lift your spirits and make everything feel better. We were all so desperate for a decent bit of rain, but I'm sure it was more crucial for the farmers. I just have a few pots to water not a whole farm to keep running and animals to keep happy. Look after yourself Tom and don't feel you have to keep going at a manic pace. We'll still be here supporting you.
Good morning Tom and family! I just wanted to say thank you for your video with Olly last week. This year I've been struggling to stay in the 60s and 70s, but your videos are helping me through that. There are so many things that are difficult right now, but your 'Good morning!' And keep moving attitude have inspired me to look for the good things. I can confidently say that I'm not the only one who can't wait to see your next video and hear your Good, Morning everyone! Keep up the good work and God Bless❤ Love from Oklahoma, USA.
Great video Tom. We have had very little rain and our grazing is looking very sorry for its self. On a plus note my son & daughter got me your book for fathers day so I was very excited & i have just started reading it.
Two supprises real cool. Love that video when you brought the company to look into using the different fields. With milk production up it means more milkshakes. Nice clean equipment. Love that gold cart!
Hey Papa Tom !! We know you will make a great Papa for the Baby !! All these "little animals" being born on the farm, has just given you excellent Papa experience. You take such good care of the farm, and between you and Mama Pemberton, the "Little One" should be in good hands.
Hi Tom...busy busy year... it's a wonder that you have kept track of it all.. perhaps it's as well that you've got a few days off coming up... love to Johanna and all the family from Scotland 💖
Always love to see your herd on grass. You working now with rotational grazing makes my heart happy. Best thing for cows for soil and the earth. Ultimately if you can tighten up your pastures and move them every day you will see a lot less need for inputs and save $$$ as well. You are doing a brilliant thing on your farm, congratulations ❣️
Fantastic video Tom I wish more people would watch farmers on you tube to see how hard you all work for our Benefit plus your videos always add 10% boost to the way I feel . Keep the videos coming and Happy Farming
Highlands make such beautiful calves! Absolute beauties the pair of them, congrats 🎉 Looking forward to hopefully seeing them when we visit the shop! 👍
Great video massive plus getting twin heifers out of Harriet it's so frustrating when you get one of each. Your so busy Tom I really don't know how you cope with it all Nice to see you and Jo are away for a few days Yey rain AT LAST
Congratulations on your beautiful calves. The highlands are amazing animal.. yours do love you, but you are wise to always respect their space, especially when there’s newborns. I always like the grass fed cows milk. And grass fed beef. You manage your cattle very well. I really enjoy watching you.
Cows look great Tom. Have you considered pre mowing and strip grazing stronger paddocks? Works great in dry weather once it’s grazed within 24 hours and guarantees a good graze out.
I live near the New Forest, in the South of England, they have Highland Cattle that are allowed to roam free. They look absolutely majestic, but you need to be careful especially when they are crossing the roads in herds. I've seen cars written off and Highland Cows walking away.👍🤗
Always enjoy today’s video because Today’s video included happy cows. I would say seeing the one in Highland baby was a +5% and seen the second Highland baby rays into a +15% video for me so thank you for giving me a great Friday to end my week and start my weekend off with positive vibes. Be well be you
Thank you, Tom, for another great video❤ it always makes my day! You work so hard, and it shows. My favourite video is the last cows out I've watched it about 10 times😊
Great video, soon be having a herd of Island cattle as well. Seen today you have made local news in Coventry, quite a good write up. Will email you shortly about coming up to see you.
Those highland calves are adorable. So glad you got some rain to kickstart the grass growth. Not sure how much you get for cattle, but I just saw the other day someone who bought a miniature highland for a pet and they paid $10,000.
Awwww Well done Harriet! Those little heifer calves should be called Sunshine and Sky after arriving to such a gorgeous first day of Lancashire life. ❤🎉🎉
A big thumbs up on another GREAT video. Seems to me that yes Tom Pemberton it made sense to graze for 4 days for the other grass to rest and grow PLUS the extra milk in the tank!! Good job. Rest when you can. You are really working hard(that's what she said).
tom you should try pre mowing, we do it in Ireland. Dont mow too early before the cows, only the amount they will eat for that day. They end up cleaning up paddocks.
One day when you cap the manure pit direct the gas into a bounce play area with check valves to additional storage bladders. There has to be grants for methane capture making electricity and biofuels. Put in a by pass incase the bounce play area springs a leak. You'll sell more prepared food far better than fast food.
Another interesting video of your farm and the cows. They look good and seem really happy being on the grass in the sun. Harriets new calves are so small compared to mum but are super cute. How is the new milking parlour coming along? You seem very busy but thats the way you like. Take care, Chris from Australia 🇦🇺.
thoses fluffy calves are so cute ... you could even make a t-shirt out of it ... It was clearly a good decision to grase that pasture. milk yields do not lie. And for the paddocks, it will come, but first you have to finish the parlour and get used to it. one thing after the other. and it will be a relief for all of you to get to use the new parlour. The Mani3, is indeed almost new, however, now that is clean outside, you could actualy tiddy a little bit the inside too ... just saying, but it is a real mess boys ...
You got green fields and grasss tom..........your so lucky. we got brown fields and no grass in Devon
Camera quality on this looks a level above👏
Thanks mate ☺️

Those highland calves look so cute, think everyone was ready for that rain Tom. Things are only going to more busy and hectic once you become a dad
It is very nice to see you so happy I was worried about you because you weren't your normal self but now you've got your baby's you are so much I enjoy watching you all the way from New Zealand
Cannot phantom the busy live you have. The contrast of me just sitting here and enjoying a relaxing video enjoying that beautiful twin. A stellar life

BEAUTIFUL footage of the cows today. A whole video FULL of pics of them. LOVE IT. And the highland calves...SO SWEET! 👍🇨🇦
Thoroughly enjoyed the video, as always. The Highland calves are adorable but the highlight for me was at 13:54, when the lead cows were strutting their stuff in perfect sync with the music. Kudos if it was an intentional edit, bonus points if it just played out that way!

Congratulations Harriet! Well done Tom. The new guy made short work of cleaning that equipment. Welcome to him.
Nice to see that the astro turf is still channeling the cows along the side of the pasture. If you have more of the turf, maybe put some around the gates that get the muddiest?
I was wondering how well that astro grass was holding up and if you could get some more to use in other places?

Good job Harriet 😍 gorgeous babies ❤❤
I notice on the replies when you are busy but still so much better than others 😊
Interesting patterning on the adjacent field on the drone shots ( at 14:50 ).
Do you have an explanation for that - ?
Yes Tim we have a t7225 with gps and it’s a 23 reg band new
My favourite channel on UA-cam, immensely jealous but worth the pain. Rock on Harriet 💚

I love how you talk to your cows!!! 😊❤😂
Love new babes on the farm! Don’t forget to tag them ears before they get too quick to catch!🤣
Hi Tom. Any updates on the Super Soil experiment? Very keen to see!
Video to come soon ☺️
Get a chicken coop on wheels to put on the field after the cows went there
