I'm speechless. I like Philip Glass, but I'd never heard an all-guitar group playing his work. These guys should be much better known - superb stuff. Thanks for having them in my newly discovered "addiction" NPR Tiny Desk Concerts. This is one of the best yet.
speechless. clicked it on and started eating, head down. had no idea of the repertoire. The bliss of Mishima on four guitars leaves me speechless. Beautiful.
I love the posted review almost as much as the video. "pearly sheen", "interlocking parts", and "engine chugging" really help touch on the wonderful voo-doo magic that comes out of these guys and their guitars.
Great vibes.. Amazing group of talented souls placed together. I can feel the strings play through my vains. After having a difficult day watching over my 3 week old twins by myself, it released my stress. I also placed the sounds near my girls to listen to the beautiful music. Thank you! I am a new fan of yours..
Hermoso descubrimiento. Hay que destacar la excelente ejecución del cuarteto. Me recuerda un poco a Vàli, una banda noruega de guitarra acústica, también de tilde contemporáneo.
@@ravinchowdhury5215 Did indeed I was just listening to it yesterday. Thus the stylistic similarities :) Also easy to imagine this piece played on PVC and glass marimba.
with the room smelling of fine perfume and gourmet cuisine i was suddenly sick to my stomach at the realization that i had been smelling and living as a wild swine
Good publicity for these guys. I'm not a fan of their "strictly contemporary" repertoire but I guess "someone has to do that". I missed a chance to see the LAGQ play when they came to Dublin, though I did see a separate Andrew York concert
What a cool sound, that somehow I've never heard before. Its a bit annoying that whoever edited the video cropped out the right hand from most close up shots - particularly at times when where all the action is!

If I could watch nothing but Tiny Desk Concerts for the rest of my life, then I would still be a very happy man.
sucks me in and makes me wanna wear weird hats lolololololol Damn you, Tiny Desk!!!!
u flying too high
still believing this?
amadeusb4 ok
You mean a very still, happy man.
Thank you for including contemporary chamber/classical/new music artists among your offerings! Scintillating music that deserves a wider audience!

"Leave us alone, we're having a very important meeting!"
Yea .. they have their hands around necks
Ha!! Yes!
@@into_the_void that got a laugh, good one!
Grabbed the suits in Penney’s on O’Connell St on the way to the airport. Wonderful performance.
Phillip Glass on Guitar, fantastic, actually it's made look at Phillip Glass work in a different light, wow, inspiring guys, thanks.
Unbelievable how the sound of the nails on the strings is part of the music
Wow, well said!
Gorgeous music. Great fit for the Tiny Desk!
C'est magnifique! Si bien joué, avec la sensibilité de Glass et toutes les nuances de la guitare. Bravo!
Its good to know MIB headquarters has an in house band.
Mono Hive 😄
speechless. clicked it on and started eating, head down. had no idea of the repertoire. The bliss of Mishima on four guitars leaves me speechless. Beautiful.
The most beautiful dynamics and tone in any tiny desk
thank you folks for putting this up. A beacon of light in the darkness.
Imagine these guys dressed like this, shades on, walking down the street carrying their guitar cases.... Tarantino would be proud.

Brilliant! Philip Glass plus guitar quartet! A marriage made in heaven. Thank you, Tiny Desk!
Still the best concert!
I was in a guitar ensemble. This is hard to do. I'm inspired.
This is the most visually neat and organized tiny desk concert I’ve ever seen.
Extraordinarily beautiful in composition and eloquent and amazing musicianship Made my day, thank you so much.xx
"Anyway, here's Wonderwall"
take it away!
+1
Basically a shorter version of this
'Anuder Tehning point eh fook stuck en da rood'.
Tiny Desk Concerts are the best concerts I've never been to. No stage diving allowed 😃
That was amazing, I cried. It was simple and stunning. Also thanks to the people writing the algorithm that brought me here.
Love the way the slow parts build tension.
We saw these guys live through the Anchorage Concert Association and it was one of the best shows in AK in a while. Great live!
+Sara Brown which possibly says as much about Alaska as it does about these guys!
To hear Mishima on four guitars is pure bliss. On the Desert Island Disc for sure.
This is brilliant. Guitar like I've never heard it before. Glass would be privileged and proud.
When they stop each piece I think my video is lagging. They hold so still
Hahaha....it happen to me..the FIRST 2 PIECES ..I was like, what happen ?

The first Phillip Glass piece reminds me of Oakti "Aguas de Amazonia", though I suppose many of his works follow similar structures.
I think Oakti played Philip Glass

@@ImpmanPDX That sounds amazing. I will definitely listen to more of this
Four very talented guys.
with the room smelling of fine perfume and gourmet cuisine i was suddenly sick to my stomach at the realization that i had been smelling and living as a wild swine
OMG, good music is so much FUN to listen to!!
This is acoustic prog-rock. Love it
Thank you! Play on! I'm writing my fiction book listening to these tiny concerts.
This blew my mind, thank you guys!
Sublimely beautiful!
Me: Wow this sounds very Glass-esque I love it.
Me 5 seconds later: Oh right. Reading.
Felt the same way. You made me read the description. God Algo at his best
the same here hahahaha
excellent performance, and I liked the set list very much. really enjoying . do it more, please
Thank you for the music.
Lovely stuff, masterfully executed.
So beautiful - thank you for posting.
Thank you 🙏
muy elegantes en todos los sentidos, hermosa música
100%
Superb. A fresh air of music and great audio in an intimate setting
Amazing! What a jewel of a concert!
Mr. Purple, Black, Blue, Brown
Great performance. The sound production is unreal.
I find it kind of cute that even the greatest musicians can still look a little shy & embarrassed when the applause starts. Not quite sure what to do.
Nothing fancy...just sheer beauty
Magnificent rendering of this music! Felicitaciones a los guitarristas...!
Una cosa de locos esta seción!!!!!! Los felicito!!!!!!
This version to me sounds so right. It speaks differently than the original, but still so good!
dude mishima is amazing literally
Should be labelled "WARNING: Philip Glass"
I laughed so hard at this 🤣🤣
At 5:42 the beat drops and it becomes an Asking Alexandria Concert! These guys are AWESOME!
Todos los NPR tienen para ofrecernos creatividad formación diversidad musical maravillosa así que Gracias!!
LOVED! Happy 85th Birthday Philip Glass :)
Halfway through I realized it was at 1.5 speed :D
Still sounded great. Rewind.
Philip Glass is always on my mind. So thank you NRP Music. But I believe many doest´t bother, That is a pity.
C'era bisogno di qualcosa di nuovo. Bravi.
Simply beautiful ❤️😍
Great!!! Really well done.

Second from left is Dan Aykroyd!
Superb. Quartet is just a word. Its really the beauty of four interwoven guitars to create a single sound.
These guys are phenomenal!!!
They have been briefed before the concert : the penalty for a single note slightly out of time would be death.
Amazing
Maravilhoso!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Well that was pretty polite applause. I would've been standing on the table.
That would have been over the top and impolite.
I was so hoping they would do a piece in the 'round' musical style.
waitin' for Steve Reich's electric counterpoint
Really well done. Would love to catch them for a live performance.
Wow they sound awesome!
these boy's got Mad Skill's
Beautiful.
dan aykroyd is pretty good at guitar.
+Johnmark Hatfield I see it
Lol yes
Brian Bolger looks like a young Michael Cain
was thinking the same thing
+ Alec Baldwin
This is too dope!!!
Captivating.
Real musicians
Love the music ! I will be buying ! Elwood from the blues brothers needs his shades tho.
Beautiful thank you
Estos temas me recuerdan a Discipline de King Crimson. Muy muy bueno. He visto el video por lo menos 20 veces.
Precise and spine tingling.
The vibes are hypnotic.
Love it.
fantastic !
Great job this is cool music. A sound unlike
Some serious match rock here
I think there was some mixed signals about the tiny desk dress code. great music though, very trippy and magnetic.
these guys rock!
What a cool sound, that somehow I've never heard before. Its a bit annoying that whoever edited the video cropped out the right hand from most close up shots - particularly

someone tell these guys to put more on streaming platforms.
I am in love!! Where, oh where, can I find this music to purchase??
Tight like a Metal band.
Yessssss
And now we will plug in our amps and distortion pedals.
It is very nice to see that also snobs can feel and make music :))
Enjoyed that performance 👍❤️
Wow!
