I hated it when they get in front of you and go the speed where you have to split the box and go from low range to high and flip the overdrive back and forth to go the same speed. And always someone cut right in front to race for the offramp not knowing there is already someone right in front of you already
Just seen that the other day a tanker was trying to back in to drop petrol and at least 4 cars went right behind him so he couldn't back up to do his delivery was across the street at a coffee shop.
I’ve had 18 wheelers do this to me. Was moving driving a bigger U-Haul truck he was doing exactly the speed limit every time I had a chance to pass he’d floor it knowing what I was doing. Truckers aren’t immuned to this type of behavior just so you know.
Truckers are no different they like to visit with another collage driving side by each at 50 mph heading up a hill and they drive for miles and miles and no one can pass, talk about taking a defensive driving course and try respecting others ok take the course to everyone.
I feel you. I run across this dumb 💩 every day out here as well. I bet if some of these 4wheelers had to drive a big rig, some of them wouldn't think its so cute to be doing that dumb 💩.
@TheMW2informer You're right I don't seeing the government gives CDLS to anyone these days but I am pretty sure its not for one reason, only dumb people who never drove a truck would toy around with an 80,000lbs death machine and then play victim when 💩 happens. .
He’s not even aware of his actions. Clueless. I’m retired recently and I used to commute to work. 130 miles round trip. I saw this sh*t all the time. I feel your anger. Or the maneuver where someone is up your @ss, so you move over to let them pass and they don’t do it. They live among us man.
Right, it's easy for someone who never drove a big rig to say that because if they had to drive one, especially knowing all the factors. Knowing that in a truck you can only go but so fast in comparison to a car that can go triple digits and can just pick up speed in a matter of seconds and go ahead and past that vehicle that wants be a asshole. I am sure you would understand then why it is a special case seeing your limted on speed and acceleration in a semi .
I’m not a trucker, but am tired of POS’s in cars that won’t give these guys a break. Just try to understand that a truck can’t stop on a dime or that the driver can’t change lanes like a car can. Come on, just a little courtesy.
@@mattriley6866 I used to drive 5T and 2 1/2’s in the Army every once in a while, although I’m no expert I can’t believe the way people drive today. NO COMMON SENSE!
4 wheelers need to be held to a higher standard and there should be much more training when these youngsters are first getting there DL’s. Should be a whole subsection on how to drive around big trucks in there driving manuals or whatever you’d like to call them. 👍🏻
Us four wheelers experience this as well. How about we talk about two lane highways where truckers play pace car by driving side by side each other, creating a rolling road block, and going 15-20 miles an hour under the speed limit?
School bus drivers do the same kind of crap, they drive at their slow snail space exactly when they no people can't pass them. Once people get an opportunity to pass a school bus boy you see the black smoke come out they just floor it. It's actually amazing how fast the school bus can accelerate when they want to.
We have a similar problem here in B.C. with Alberta tourists in the summer. B.C. is spectacularly beautiful and mountainous, with a wealth of lakes and rivers, with winding roads that follow the terrain. Alberta is mostly flat, empty, and somewhat dirty. Huge numbers of Albertans visit us every summer. They typically put the pedal to the metal whenever they hit a straight stretch or a passing lane, but they’re terrified of any turns in the road, like a flat-earther getting too close to the edge. It’s a constant battle of being stuck behind they’re paranoid asses until finally getting a chance to pass safely, when they try to prevent you from passing. Even when I’m on my Harley, the idiots try to race me, futile as it is. Every summer, same bullshit. They’re decent, hardworking people, but total asshole drivers.
I remember one time I was on 55 in Illinois about 2 in the morning looked in the mirror saw a little dot, looked again the dot a little bigger , looked again and the car is passing me , pulls over in front and drives 1 mph faster then me ,
You mean that's not the 'safety lane'?? So many happily camp there so they don't have to deal with other traffic merging in and out, but when they get close to their exit, will gladly cut off two or more lanes of traffic making everyone else slam on their brakes to avoid a collision even though they could have started anytime in the previous half mile beforehand... The road, like the world these days seems to be 'all about ME!'.
I enjoy driving or did. I've even driven in Europe. I used to find driving relaxing. But nowadays? Yesterday, some idiot cut me off. City streets, stop and go. 5 miles later when he pulled off. He was the car in front of me. Just, why???
I’ve had a semi (cattle hauler of course) get butt hurt I didn’t change my speed for him to pass me as the speed limit went to 70 from 55 and eventually went 80 to pass and cut me off so bad I had to use the shoulder and rocked his truck from him cutting over so fast.
#1 average driver doesn't want a 18 weeler with 80k pounds of cargo in front of them , or behind them why? Very simple every one knows that any mistake by the truck driver ends up in a fatality. #2 roads are full in huge pieces of tires ejected by trucks and everybody knows that getting hit by a piece of tire will kill you and your family,#3 on raining days the ammount of spray produced by a truck is totally blinding #4 when trucker isnt paying attention and touches the shoulders lifts all kinds of objects to the vehicle behind , rocks , dust , etc I almost ended up in a tragedy traveling with my wife and kids from florida to georgia when a trucker has a blown tire on his trailer in front of my car when doing 70 mph the huge piece or rubber got underneath of mu vehicle and almost ended up on the ditch besides i95 Thats why people do that its nothing personal against the trucker of course , but people see trucks at 70 plus as a Hazzard
The road opening up is a psychological cue to drive faster, that’s likely why. The speed limit is a limit, not a minimum, you don’t have a “right” to pass a car.
Too bad, maybe he doesn’t want to do the speed limit, there isn’t a law saying you have to go 55 in a 55… also may not know the area or want you to get ahead as you would do a stupid move like break checking or cutting him off while passing.
Because a 4 lane warrants a higher speed and if a semi gets in front of you it will limit the distance and scenery you can see. Diesel fumes, slow downs on hills, the careless ways of many truckers today, better to keep the trucks in back of you, if you can. And we can.
However in this situation the car is cruising way less than the speed limit, multiple lanes don't change anything when the truck will be a half mile in front of you before you can dig the booger out of your nose. Further, I'd rather the 40 ton death machine be in front of me instead of a couple hundred feet behind me, they don't stop when they hit you.
Omg, that’s one of the worst. People need to be seriously educated on what we deal with. Darting into our stopping distance space is also infuriating! Unfortunately, no one cares in this “me first” world. They see trucks as an inconvenience even though they want all the life benefits that we haul for THEM!
Today a trucker came off of a gravel road and threw a rock at my new Maverick pickup and put a dent and scratch on my drivers side, so what now, fuckin truckers can lighten up and be courteous towards others, how many windshields do 18 wheelers breaK????
I genuinely don't understand the frustration. Are they holding you up somehow? So they go slower on a 1 lane road, and speed up when there is 2 lanes. So what! r/ Yourtheasshole for driving the semi in the left lane.
Your right you genuinely dont understand and from reading your comment I know for sure you (NEVER) drove a semi truck a day in your life to understand what he is talking about in this video which in turn makes you the asshole for commenting on something you don't understand nor know anything about and( possibly) a asshole 4wheeler who does dumb 💩 like the car was doing seeing your defending the car that wants to be a asshole that speeds up when a truck trys to pass so a truck will not get in front of them and then slows back down when the truck gets back behind them .
On one lane road, cars can go a speed limit or 9 miles above. On a 2 lane roads, the left lane is for passing, and you should be driving faster than the right lane. That car sped up so the tractor-trailer wouldn't have to try to pass. Different states have different traffic laws.
Hell, other trucks do that to me all the time. They find the pedal as soon as you get beside them and match your speed and they don’t have a cb either
I hated it when they get in front of you and go the speed where you have to split the box and go from low range to high and flip the overdrive back and forth to go the same speed. And always someone cut right in front to race for the offramp not knowing there is already someone right in front of you already
Exactly dalt with it for 40+ years they are only in a hurry when you're trying to back in some place
Just seen that the other day a tanker was trying to back in to drop petrol and at least 4 cars went right behind him so he couldn't back up to do his delivery was across the street at a coffee shop.

Mate I feel your frustration, here in England we have the same issues with stupid people playing games with us truckers, have a good day 👍
You don’t have to be in a truck for these morons to do this.
It's good to know that there are asshole 4wheelers worldwide for a while I thought it was just here in the US.
Truckers are no different they like to visit with another collage driving side by each at 50 mph heading up a hill and they drive for miles and miles and no one can pass, talk about taking a defensive driving course and try respecting others ok take the course to everyone.
That's 90% of the people I see on the road
Just being a jerk 😡
Knowingly or not. Still major jerk action.
Infuriating. Don’t pass and then slow down! DON’T!
I feel you. I run across this dumb 💩 every day out here as well. I bet if some of these 4wheelers had to drive a big rig, some of them wouldn't think its so cute to be doing that dumb 💩.
Damn you say that like semi drivers never drive cars 😂 for all you know its a fellow trucker on his day off.
@TheMW2informer You're right I don't seeing the government gives CDLS to anyone these days but I am pretty sure its not for one reason, only dumb people who never drove a truck would toy around with an 80,000lbs death machine and then play victim when 💩 happens.
.
I used to drive longhaule and when I pass a rig I give them plenty of room been there done that.
Maybe hes been stuck behind a truck trying to pass another truck doing 10 miles under the speed limit for 20 miles one too many times.
Cars do this to other cars all the time. Trucks aren't anything special in this case.
No big deal for a car doing this to another car...Try it while you weigh 80,000 lbs...big difference.
Right, it's easy for someone who never drove a big rig to say that because if they had to drive one, especially knowing all the factors. Gear jammers bitch about everything. Always have always will

Wish there were more people with the common sense that you have on the road.. thank you

Agreed. They also need to make 'left lane is fast lane' official rather than just convention.
@@mattriley6866 Called tractor trailers. Missed that in the manual?

Cry big tears, left lane driver.

Five days a week,two or three times a day🙄.
Never fails
Doesn't that motorist know that it is the truck drivers job to hold up traffic?
It’s not just against you truckers, passing lane are ok to speed in. Can’t fix stupid.
I have bitched about that shit for 35 years!! I wish someone would explain why they drive like that!!
To piss the rest of us off
To give you something to bitch about
Yeah that’s not cool. Probably doesn’t use cruise control either.
I remember one time I was on 55 in Illinois about 2 in the morning looked in the mirror saw a little dot, looked again the dot a little bigger , looked again and the car is passing me , pulls over in front and drives 1 mph faster then me ,
Yes, your tire was throwing off pieces. Just could smell burning tire.
Trucks are the worst ever!🖕
Just like left lane campers on interstate. Some drivers have a serious need to control the speed of those behind them.
You mean that's not the 'safety lane'?? Because nobody wants to be behind us, their time is worth more than ours!! Although they wouldn’t have a single thing without us!!!,
Don't put on your indicator it just warns the maniac unless their are traffic behind u
I don’t get it at all. These people are creating havoc for others and for what reason ? Very frustrating and annoying. You simply cannot fix stupid.
Don't mess around with big trucks on the road in any way especially speed limits.
I hear there is a new cure for stupid but I haven’t asked the Dr about it yet. They say it’s a 2X4.🤔🤔
Too bad, maybe he doesn’t want to do the speed limit, there isn’t a law saying you have to go 55 in a 55… also may not know the area or want you to get ahead as you would do a stupid move like break checking or cutting him off while passing.

If your in a truck this happens all the time.
Bad and insecure driver. Not feeling comfortable driving two way road without separation barrier...

I just seen that 39% of the people driving in the state of Washington didn't pass thier driver test and I bet a lot of them are still on the road.
Nervous drivers feel more comfortable going faster with two lanes, more space. Happens down under as well.
Park in the last space at the truckstop all night.
!
Happens all the time here in oz also 👍🇦🇺

Not sure where you live, but that is not accurate for anywhere in the USA except that the left lane is the passing lane.
