Speaking as a retired lorry driver that main thoroughfare carrying heavy traffic would very likely have provided a roundabout or more suitable turning opportunity ahead somewhere that's all. Annoying but we've all been there. Few extra minutes and safer for all. Be there obstacles or not, the traffic volume alone should prohibit the turning attempt imo. But he was a confident driver and he recovered the situation, but it was just unnecessary.

    As a professional driver since age 21, I can honestly say we’ve all been in these situations. It’s an occupational hazard, when you are in towns and villages that you’ve never been to before. It’s how you learn from them that makes you become an “experienced driver”
    Anyone that says they haven’t are either bullshitting or only ever driven something as large as a van.

    • @fasttrackblastback8286
      @fasttrackblastback8286 Рік тому

      Even in a van you can find yourself in these situations if you're in small villages. Those lwb sprinters are the best and most maneuverable for that size of van but you will still find yourself in a pickle, it's just easier to get out of if you're calm. It's why you see a lot of them bashed up 😂

    I wonder if the people in the comments would be as kind if it was applied to a white collar work or profession.
    If they were the manager would they be as generous where the huge error was also corrected but cost a lot of time, risk, effort and cost to the company, individual and customer?
    I am all for sympathy to the working class but isn't committing an "illegal" turn even if it didn't cost a huge inconvenience still "illegal" and should not be dismissed.
    The fact that this driver attempted an "illegal" turn with a huge truck and just didn't get away with executing it speaks volumes of his attitude and casual dismissal of the rules.
    If you are being forced with time, it is the duty of the worker to "Push back" against the superiors that are asking for ever increasing expectations and to change the culture of the management rather than take these kinds of poor, risky and illegal maneuvers.
