Kazcha (2004) has been one movie that I would consider part of this list too. Mammooty has portrayed his character brilliantly and the ending of the movie just just lingers on in your mind..

Pihu movie released in 2018 about a 2 year old girl being alone in her home with the dead body of her mother and not knowing she is dead, is the most hard hitting and terrifying movie I have seen. It's even based on a real incident. I can't even think of watching that movie again but I will recommend people here to watch the movie if looking for a good thriller movie

Please watch Sadayam starring Mohanlal. Written by the Njanpeeth winner MT Vasudevan Nair and directed by the king of tragedies Sibi Malayil, it is a tale of a man waiting his death sentence in Jail for killing 3 people including 2 kids. In my opinion, it is an awesome script from MT (who has penned many all time great stories in films and his novels) and career best performance of Mohanlal.

Heartwarming to see Malayalam movies mentioned here. Welcome Home was too dark and i regret watching that movie till date. That movie is a point of no return. It changed something in me, something i cannot even explain. Please watch 'Moonampakkam'. A malayalam movie i watched as a child in the 90s, got me so traumatised that i avoid a rewatch even at this age...
I think Trapped by Rajkumar Rao should have been part of the list. He was terrific as an actor. However, there were some scenes that I felt were unbareable.
The kind of depression and anxiety Irrata climax has given me... Still haunts me.. I have suggested one of my friend this movie and he has a niece and nephew in other city living with his brother.. He really cried because he treat his niece and nephew like his own son and daughter.. I really apologize to him for giving this trauma...😅
Iratta's climax reminded me of INCENDIS (2010), though both are very different movies. The revelation in the end of both movies came as a hard punch in the gut.
You could do a whole list with just Blessy movies. Infact, Aadujeevitham is less tragic in some ways than all of his other movies. I guess its much harder to relate with someone enslaved on a desert abroad, almost like a Hollywood movie. But his other movies are more relatable and grounded, hence just tragic. But he does it so beautifully that you cant help but watch it once.
I feel that the Assamese movie 'Aamis' also falls into this category. By depicting the dark instincts of human behavior, it eventually makes you realize how traumatizing humans can be.
Aakashadoothu(Malayalam) Angadi Theru(Tamil) Sadayam(Malayalam) Kireedam & Chenkol (Malayalam) These are also the movies that doesn't leave my mind after watching. All the movies in your list too.

I recommend you to watch Kireedam, Chenkol, Dashratham and finally i highly recommended you to watch Akashdoothu 1993 it will disturb you so much, the emotional effect of the movie will be for days. I think the movie got a national award.
Irrata and thanmathra are still two of the most underrated movies i ever watched..very less people knows about this movie, and very less is discussed around the plot of this movie..it was just brilliant
The best thing about the jallianwala massacre scene is how the director has opted for an almost quite background score for that scene. Even the screams and chaotic sounds of the stampede were drowned out by the deafening chorus of gunshots. No dramatic wailing of violins, no climactic drumroll. Only blasting gunshots, whizzing bullets, echoing shrieks, and surrounding silence.
Yes thank you for pointing out masan. People always brag about how great that movie is and that it's their favourite movie but it's just too real. it's just so heartbreaking I cannot watch that movie again. I'm not that strong.
pls watch kalapani starring mohanlal and directed by priyadarshan.. some of those scenes still give me nightmare and i really cant sit through that again.
The scene where Lal and Prabhu were stranded on an Island and Lal notices that Prabhu have chewed flesh of a dead body, or the jail torture scene after which Lal loses his balance. Even the iconic shoe licking scene was really done by Lalettan himself
Kadhal kondein (2003) directed by selvaraghavan and starring dhanush is a masterpiece. It is a very uniquely written film appreciated for its performances with raw and disturbing scenes. Music by yuvan is awesome.
Thanmatra is the Mohanlal performance that hit my soul. To me that is the best performance I've ever seen in any language. I saw it just once in theatre in 2004 when I was 13. Wasn't a huge Mohanlal fan till then. That performance just changed everything for me. I can't watch it again but every scene in the movie is still vivid in my memory.
Completely agree Jammy... I loved Jay Bheem. Undoubtedly it's a piece of art indicating real life social-political issue but it is so painful that despite of being so good I find myself too weak to revisit.
Mahanadi was an accidental watch telecasted in tv AND IT. HAUNTS me till this day.the thought of the film itself by name throws shivers down my spine. One such accidental watch was" Hello darling" starring naresh in Telugu .I hve definitely promised myself I would never let my children watch these films as they scar them fr life.
I was waiting for Thanmatra the whole time and lo and behold it was there. Great choices Jammy. Few movies that I would like to add to it would be 1. Baaram (Tamil) 2. Sadma (Tamil/hindi) 3. Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum pinne njanum (malayalam) - Must watch 4. Peranbu - Tamil 5. Kanchivaram- Tamil
Thanmathra released a few months after my dad's passing. For me it was like watching our lives happening right in front of us. A small and happy family traumatized by a sudden illness and death. It's so heart wrenching. 😢 Unfortunately, I couldn't become an IAS officer which my dad wanted me to be. It wasn't possible without his presence and inspiration.
I know you are not much interested in exploring Bengali cinema, but still I will recommend 3 movies amongst a lot. Mrinal Sen's 'Kharij', Tapan Sinha's ' Adaalat O Ekti Meye' and Soumitra Chaterjee starrer 'Agradani'.

I saw Thaniyavarthanam at the age of 5 . N even a kid of that age could clearly understand the turmoil of the actors esp the protagonist(Mammootty) and the pain it created in ones mind was immense. The way how a society can make a perfectly sane man to question his own sanity. I didn't watch it a 2nd time coz its truly heartbreaking!!!
Some discretional scenes from gangs of wasseypur were absolutely not watchable. All those brutal murders in that movie. Recently, in panchayat 2, Faisal Khan's tragic scene of his son's death was also very emotional.
That was not a nightmare it was a comedy movie not every cringe film is a bad film for me Deshdrohi give us better comedy then a movies which are pretending to be a comedy film

Probably the bgm you used is the most horror here, I was watch your video at night and there is a specific noise of clinking which appeared thrice with that melancholic tone. it surely teleported me to some horrifically sad movies.
From your list of ten movies i have watched 9 (ie. Except for Welcome home). One movie that I would not watch again is Biriyani 2019. I found it a hard movie to watch though it was brilliant in its content.
Tamil movie Myna and Vazhakki en 18/9 for me were the most heartbreaking ones. While the whole movie in itself is a little serious and makes you think about a horrifying ending, Myna does the unimaginable, and gives us not just a trauma but a ceaseless sadness.
My list of movies which I won't see ever again along with the movies mentioned by Jammy in the video Chittha, Gargi, Visarnai, Jai Bhim. Brilliant movies but the amount of atrocities done in these movies by one human to another. I just couldn't take it.
1)1980s movie Pratighat-Violence 2)Anjaam-Misogyny and violence 3)Dandupalya-Kannada movie based on the dangerous Dandupalya gang robberies of South. 4)Visaranai or Visaaranai-Labours from another state are tortured in the police custody. Sadly, based on real life incidents. 5)Maficha sakshidar-Again a crime thriller based on real life incident. Joshi Abhyankar case. 6)Holi-Based on some events that take place among college students when the college management refuses to declare holiday for Holi. 7) Hostel-Vatsal Seth impresses with his performance but the movie that revolves around ragging is disturbing. It hits really hard. 8)Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Nai Koncha (2022)- This disturbing Marathi movie story revolves around two boys. Won't write more. 9) Pratibandh (starring Chiranjivi)- An action thriller but with some very disturbing sequences. Especially the death of the...(won't spoil it). Very depressing and disturbing. Chiranjivi got an award for the movie. 10)Bandit queen-Based on the life of Foolan Devi. It's self explanatory. Honorable mention: 6 candles(available on UA-cam in Hindi). Journey of a father in search of his lost son. These are my recommendations.🙏

Bhramaram, from Blessy and Mohanlal, i have not dared to watch that full movie in one sitting, i have seen enough and i cant sit through, i think blessy is only director who makes movies that are too good that it becomes one time watchable 😅😅
Bhoothakkannadi mammootty
Sadhayam mohanlal
Jammy the encylopedia of Indian Cinema... it makes me feel proud thay someone that too a non-malayali speaking about malayalam cinema in this depth....😍😍😍
Brilliant video once again..
Mahanadhi
Paruthuveeran
Katradhu Thamizh
Great Tamil movie choices
Pithamagan of Chiyaan Vikram is best movie but one of the disturbing movie. That movie get me nightmare 💀
Akashadoothu
1993 malayalam movie hell of a movie that made cry for a day long that I have never watched since 1998 and I'll never watch again...
Not at all !!
Am I hallucinating. Was it the same video which vanished this week?
+1
Yes it did vanish. It got restricted. I made some changes and tweaked it because it was not getting pushed. Hopefully nothing is amiss this time
@@TriedRefusedProductionswhy did it get restricted 😮?
Incendis, no movie is much more disturbing than this movie.
Kireedom and Akashadoothu too
Bro please watch KAALAPANI, that movie is something else❤️
Manjummal boys scene where Subhash hold his friends neck is nightmare for me What a movie
The fact that Welcome Home is based on true events is terrifying
Exactly.
It's not. I've searched it so much. Couldn't find anything remotely similar to this movie
Where's it streaming,?
@@susanvarghese4962UA-cam only
It’s not completely true. Loosely based on the events though
Anmol have u watched the malayalam movie Akashadoothu. Hopefully u like it. But you will not think about revisiting it again.
I was waiting for Thanmatra the whole time and lo and behold it was there. Great choices Jammy.
Few movies that I would like to add to it would be
1. Baaram (Tamil)
2. Sadma (Tamil/hindi)
3. Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum pinne njanum (malayalam) - Must watch
4. Peranbu - Tamil
5. Kanchivaram- Tamil
also kireedam starring mohanlal, i dont remember ever weeping as much as i wept here
Thanmathra released a few months after my dad's passing. For me it was like watching our lives happening right in front of us. A small and happy family traumatized by a sudden illness and death. It's so heart wrenching. 😢 Unfortunately, I couldn't become an IAS officer which my dad wanted me to be. It wasn't possible without his presence and inspiration.
Do Bigha Zameen 😢
Dosti (1964) 😢
Sarbjit😢
Pother Panchali😢😢😢
I know you are not much interested in exploring Bengali cinema, but still I will recommend 3 movies amongst a lot. Mrinal Sen's 'Kharij', Tapan Sinha's ' Adaalat O Ekti Meye' and Soumitra Chaterjee starrer 'Agradani'.
Was waiting for this re-upload
Watched thanmatra and damn was it something
Highly recommend the Mammootty film too. It's haunting
Thanks for mentioning Kattaradhu Tamizh🙏
Real subscribers know this video is re-uploaded ☺️
I saw that video and thought I would see it later and it vanished. I wondered whether I imagined it :P
What changed btw ?
Video got age restricted. Was not getting pushed to even the subscribers. So I did the needful and made the necessary changes. Hope it does not happen again!
@@TriedRefusedProductions Real subscribers know that too ❤️🔥
@@TriedRefusedProductions while I have you here Jammy I have a question for you.(I am not on any social media)
When you are voicing dialogues ironically especially badly written dialogues from movies... Why do you talk in tone of Fardeen Khan from Prem Agan ? Is it intentional or his skills rubbed off on you ?
@@anupdeshpande5810Lmao..you now have ruined all his videos for me..i will enjoy his content having fardeen khan in mind from this point onwards
OMG…. the best list ever… I haven’t watched any of these movies twice as it have touched me so much that I can’t torture myself again… Best works ever ❤🧿
Looking at his back to back contents this week.....Jammy is becoming the Akshay Kumar of UA-cam.....
haha the medium (youtube) however warrants the akshay kumar consistency!
At least Jammy delivers 🤌😎
@@33jayy that I agree... His sense of detailing in cinema is truly the best ❤️❤️❤️❤️

2.Katradhu tamizh

4.Naan kadavul
5.Pithamagan
6.Paradesi
7.Mahanthi
8.Sethu
9.Trapped
10.Biriyani
were the most disturbing movies for me in some point of time i feel very scared or just to think about these movies.
For me it is mahanadi by Kamal hassan. I can't see it again
Bombay velvet always gives me nightmare every time I think about it
Its not that bad cmon!
"Pihu" really shook me from core. Even though I know the ending , I still won't dare to watch it again... really disturbing
Some discretional scenes from gangs of wasseypur were absolutely not watchable. All those brutal murders in that movie.
Recently, in panchayat 2, Faisal Khan's tragic scene of his son's death was also very emotional.
Faisal Khan in Panchayat?? Didn't know there was a crossover between Gangs of Wasseypur and Panchayat 😂😂
@@amanms1999 faisal Malik the name of person who played prahlad Pandey role in panchayat
It's faisal Malik not Faisal Khan
My apologies
October. It's a beautifully painful movie. With brilliant Performances and a sad hope.
You miss Krk' s Deshdrohi movie 😂
That was not a nightmare it was a comedy movie not every cringe film is a bad film for me Deshdrohi give us better comedy then a movies which are pretending to be a comedy film
@@arpitmahanty5892 yes it's a good unintentional comedy movie. Too much of overacting by KRK
@@arpitmahanty5892 judwa 2 then ?😂😂😂
ok can we appreciate the editing of this video? the background music (the violins man!!) and Jammy's commentary made the video itself eerie.Kudos to the editor
My disturbing movies:
Aamis
Irratta
Gargi
Have you seen Shamili's MALOOTTY It was India's first survival drama
@@tanvitripathi3997 noo will watch it.. thanks for the recommendation
Gargi?

U should watch sadma starring with kamal hassan and sri devi ,my heart felt so down with emotional ending of movie since then decide i will not watch these type of movie again 😢😢😢
is this reuploaded?
i don't think so
Please write down the list of movies in the description because it's not possible to remember the names and I mostly watch all movies recommended by you, and thank you so much for the work you are doing. You are making our life easy by your recommendations.
Finally, Welcome Home (2020). *This* is the movie we have to revisit. It's highly underrated. It's available in Sony Liv.
1:18 Masaan
2:16 Paruthiveeran
3:21 Thaniyavarthanam
4:34 Sardar uddam
5:23 Mahanadhi
6:17 Iratta
7:17 Katradhu Tamizh
8:24 Mathrubumi
9:15 Thamathra
10:15 Welcome Home
Probably the bgm you used is the most horror here, I was watch your video at night and there is a specific noise of clinking which appeared thrice with that melancholic tone. it surely teleported me to some horrifically sad movies.
The recent Malayalam movie 'Appan' is one such dark movie with one of the most villainous character with no redeeming qualities.
Watch "Sharapanjara" kannada film. Its a classic of kannada cinema.
From your list of ten movies i have watched 9 (ie. Except for Welcome home).
One movie that I would not watch again is Biriyani 2019. I found it a hard movie to watch though it was brilliant in its content.
Here's my list
-Hey ram
-Nayagan
-Virumandi
-Talaash
-Kaadhal
-myna
-moondram pirai
-3
Tamil movie Myna and Vazhakki en 18/9 for me were the most heartbreaking ones. While the whole movie in itself is a little serious and makes you think about a horrifying ending, Myna does the unimaginable, and gives us not just a trauma but a ceaseless sadness.
Bhoothakannadi psychological drama with phenomenal acting from mammooty..And mohanlal’s sadayam also a psychological drama from malayalam
It’s pronounced Eee-r-a-tta meaning twin or double. Great pick. My fav is the jeeva one you mentioned Tamizh,, fabulous film.
My list of movies which I won't see ever again along with the movies mentioned by Jammy in the video Chittha, Gargi, Visarnai, Jai Bhim. Brilliant movies but the amount of atrocities done in these movies by one human to another. I just couldn't take it.
Though Thanmatra is my favorite.
Mohanlal's Kireedam, Sadayam and Pavitram(a movie that show cased old age pregnency in 1994) also deserves praise.
Lal's acting in Pavithram climax and the girl screaming Chettaccha again and again was damn tragic.😭
1)1980s movie Pratighat-Violence
2)Anjaam-Misogyny and violence
3)Dandupalya-Kannada movie based on the dangerous Dandupalya gang robberies of South.
- Winter
-Sadhayam
-chenkol
-ultsavapittennu
-aham

@Tried and Refused Productions. Director Bala's Pithamagan and Naan Kadavul.
Can i just say your channel is my personal favourite when it comes to movie reviews especially the fact that you use still images while reviewing a movie is amazing. Keep going bro 🤟
Sadma is one of my favorite, but i can't watch it again. It's so heartbreaking seeing kamal hasan trying to remind sridevi about his existence!!
U gotta watch Kuruthipunal acted by Kamal Hassan.
The climax is truly disturbing when compared to the 1st half of the film.
Most Kamal's films are genius
Mohanlal in sadayam ❤ some performances are other wordly , words fall short .. the man has ovwr decades given Malayali audience stuff beyond legendary , hopefully the country now gets to see his gems through cinephiles like anmol 😊
All of Tamil director Bala's movies fits this list and the most nightmarish of them all is naan kadavul which has mind-blowing performances by Arya and Priyamani. Gargi and chitha are very powerful movies but I can't see them again as well!
Thanks for including thaniyavarthanam
