Godhra kand is one of the most horrifying incidents in the history of communal riots. Thousands of people lost lives in both Hindu and Muslim communities. These riots started from a train and soon engulfed all of Gujarat.

Being a daughter of police officer at that time in Gujarat (near Dahod district) I clearly remembered that my father had received call from many leaders ...that during any fight or any issue you don't have to take any action..and my father has hide 1 muslim family in police station.

YOu rightly pointed out one very important fact, vengeance was taken but against a wrong group who had nothing to do with the Godhra attack When we look at the ground reality, especially the atrocities faced by the victims of both the community, it is heart-wrenching. My heart goes out to all the victims of the train and then people died 200kms away. This incident is a black spot in our society for sure.

Last year i was doing training in Railways while living in Vadodara, there is Chhayapuri station in Vadodara itself.
I had to go home from there. Our train often stopped at Godhra at night. To be honest, looking at the station from the window of the train used to make me uneasy. My heart shuddered at the mine thought of that dreadful scene.😞

That's where they live en mass even the Godhra was done muslim from that area, they consider themselves lineage of Aurengzeb, everytime they board at that station they make so much noise and 100 of them surround the train to drop 10 people they look and behave aggressively and I can see Hindus in the areas they sit scurry out of there way in fear just from the numbers and ruckus they cuase. In such clashes, it’s the common citizen who gets involved directly or indirectly (Reason can be various, from manipulation to retaliation), and it’s true that some totally innocent also suffers a lot. But in the end, it’s the common citizen who maintains harmony in society and also destroys it at times.

The whole train was not filled with Karsevaks. After Babri structure demolition, VHP used to organise Ram Temple Darshan for common folks where they used to book tickets for free, made provisions for stay and food for Bhakts in Ayodhya. On reaching Ayodhya, the Bhakts/Karsevaks used to do darshan followed by Community service such as making Prasad, cleaning the Temporary Temple premises. I know because I had travelled to Ayodhya with my family in 2000 from Mumbai. Similarly there were only 2 coaches booked by VHP for Karsevaks and not the whole train.

Being from Gujarat it was clear how the coaches burnt and there also was people from other coaches who knew what happened. The riots were shameful and unfortunate. But 2 things 1) coaches weren't burnt from outside. 2) karsevaks in the coaches were not allowed to go out when the coaches were burning. 3) news channels then showed photos (which are now banned) of dead bodies of kar sevaks and the coaches and those were extremely disturbing. 4) In riots people from every religion died. 5) Riots were definately organised and people were provided with weapons.

The fire resulted from a stove being carried by a passenger.
@@wethepeople1680 the stove doesn’t explode itself without any gas with it. There were no incident or a rumor that’s some one was carrying gas they would’ve known from the burnt metal at least of the cylinder. Also a single stove won’t light up two coaches at one time.

This same situation is responsible for heinous torture of animals and those who are individually doing voluntary feeding and care of animals. The animal NGOS are also supporters of different political parties. They are more interested in showing off and drama. None of them come to fight for stray animals. A calf barely a few hours after birth is cruelly thrown on the road in bitter cold only because the poor thing's owner is showing his support towards a political party or some caste or persons from which he is getting some advantage. No animal NGOS will ever fight for the dead calf because they also have their political greed. The police is just like this. You can be burned to death by criminals in your neighbourhood. You can be beaten to death by thieves and maidservants but the police officers will sit smugly in thanas and support the side which give them the most advantage. You can't prove these type of corruption just as you can't prove that the bike which crushed your street canine did not do it accidentally. He or she did it intentionally. You can't punish those people who were there on the streets watching this horrible torture of an innocent animal by such cunning and corrupt greedy person and laughing among themselves. You can't stop yourself from despising such a society. They will not open their mouth against that person or woman. Why? Because it's not them or their family. The police is also like this. It's not them or their family. If some police want to help you their seniors are going to stop her. Why? Because that is their system. Nobody is pressuring them to do their duty unless there is selfish gain for them.

I saw it from Nadiad, it went in full speed. no riots started on the same evening, riots started early morning hours. vhp had no authority on dead bodies, youngsters were there helping to seperate the charred bodies stuck to the train caracass. I was there all the time. This man is lying based on written facts only.

I had my relative up there in train , she told me there were people who came inside of train and started killing people and she was just sitting on the next compartment but because she was returning from rishi kesh by completing akhand puja , she believed that it was by the grace of god that she stayed alive.
