Bless Matt and Chantelle. They raised a lot of money & did the hard cycling for this elephant. I inquired & it costs about USD$30,000 to rescue an elephant. So this was no small feat. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.
I'M SOO HAPPY FOR THIS SWEET GIRL!!!... I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT HER FORMER OWNER WOULD CHAIN HER SO HEAVILY (IN HER CONDITION💔😢) AND THEN FORCE HER TO BE A STREET BEGGING ELEPHANT!!!...BUT THANK GOD FOR LEK AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO MADE HER RESCUE POSSIBLE!!💜😍🐘🐘🐘🙋☺🙏➕👍🇺🇸
I know this was several yrs ago but still think it is amazing that this couple got the money together, fundraising to save this elephant. Bravo! To Lek and all at ENP you are amazing.
Matt Rousu and Chantelle Ridley, we really admire your good works for those poor and mistreated elephants, ..... With your kind hearts, you will have peaceful , healthy and wonderful lives forever. Both of you are the true heroes to us!
Hard to watch her walk so painfully. 55 years of being made to hobble the streets is unthinkably cruel. I know this was posted in 2012, but I hope she is still grazing with her sisters at the incredibly wonderful ENP. Thank you Lek and all who helped to save her.
Well done to you lovely people thank you so much for giving her a happy life, I so wish that all the elephants could be rescued from this horrible life, bless you for your hard work and compassion.
I hope one day surgeries would help elephants have a second chance for their bodies. Too bad it would probably cost a bunch to make that happen. In the mean time it's wonder to see the good souls are helping these wonder sweethearts.
Please turn the music off (or at least quiet) so we can hear what the people are saying! I want to learn about the elephants, not be entertained by a fiddle.
WHY is that guy pulling her so hard when she has great difficulty walking???????? WHY is her ankle chained to her neck if she's free?????? WHYWHYWHYWHY??????? She's NOT free if she still wears chains. LEK...please do something!!!!!!
does she wear any chain now? or only in the previous owner's place? oh i saw the man who entered the truck before the elephant entered has a hook in his hand...>"
I'm sure you've learned that no elephant at ENP wears chains there. The man with the Bullhook would have been the previous owner's mahout, not anyone of ENP. Hugs to you for loving elephants!
Can someone tell me the story of the elephant in the intro that has had its skin peeled, it looks horrendous and the elephant attempting to pull something with those huge straps on, these are probably some of the worse images I have ever seen.
I do not know what men did to the elephant with its skin peeled; men are extremely cruel and without conscience in their torture. The elephant in the big harness that was pulling, was doubtless an elephant used for logging, which while banned in Thailand now, is still legal, I believe, in Burma, which the ptb's renamed Myanmar, where dissidents are also chained and shackled, and misused for slave labor. Burma borders Thailand on the West, and ENP tries to help the elephants there too. Every Westerner should learn what was done to the Burmese people and how they've been mistreated.

Such a great story! God Bless them for caring enough to do the work of fundraising to save this poor injured elephant. ❤️🐘

Could you fix her back leg?? Poor thing is in pain. Free at last thank God.
Angry against those nasty dwarfs who abused her
May pain and suffering always follow those who abuse elephants 🐘 and any creature
Dislocated hip? One leg is shorter than the other.
How horrible. Poor baby
I wish they would turn the damn music off so we hear people talk.
Her back leg is very bad ....poor girl....humans are so stupid sometimes

Why the green wire tied around the elephant's ankle?

is it possible that elephant's leg was hurted intentionally by human?to make elephant can't run?
