This story just made me ashamed of my own kind. Why do humans have to treat animals so thoughtlessly and with such cruelty at times? They aren't machines they're living beings and they're worthy of being treated with compassion and just simple respect. We inflict a lot of damage it's time we did more to repair that. I'm glad Kabu is happier now thanks to people who care.
They should round up these inhuman scumbags that abuse any animal. Round them up and ship them to a desolate island to fight each other for their survival. Sick Fucks deserve to be banished from society.
The people that use these elephants are just as abused as the elephants. They are poor in a way you and I can't even imagine and have to do whatever they can to feed their families. I'm not condoning what they do but animals, by our standards, are abused all over the world every moment of the day. Cows, oxen, horses, mules, dogs, even sheep, and goats. Expecting poor farmers to treat their animals better than they do themselves is not realistic.
@Ann M Nice comment, I agree. Unfortunately for most of us there is not much we can do for the elephants. But we can do a lot for the animals being bred in our countries. Livestock animals are bred and killed in the billions. Boycotting these industries helps animals since it is a supply and demand situation. I obviously don't know how you live (or anyone here for that matter), just asking everyone to also consider the lives of animals that have been deemed "farm animals" by our society. None of them do this voluntarily and they are abused beyond imagination. At the end of the day it is a matter of choosing one product over the other. With the dollar we spent we decide what practices we want to support. e.g. If you buy eggs it is very likely you support the shredding of male chicks. It's common practice in western civilizations. Even cage free organic farms normally do not keep the males. They are considered a waste product and handled like that. All the best.
All moms losing babies find their joy again when another baby accepts them . Elephants are more human than humans. Currently ( it's 2024 now), a baby girl, age 13, arrived at ENP . Her name is Namthip. She was very skinny and in bad shape 6 weeks ago. Now, she bonded with Mintra. She's 13, shy, still fearful, but her innocence and self-discovery is a beautiful journey to watch daily.
OMG!!! This made me cry so bad. When I saw her leg, I was overcome with tears of sadness for this poor, beautiful girl. To remove her children from her is so wrong. PLEASE PEOPLE... WE MUST TAKE BETTER CARE OF THE ANIMALS. Elephants are so majestic, intelligent, gentle & loving. How in the world can man be so cruel??? My second round of tears were of joy for her happiness. FINALLY THIS ANIMAL WILL THRIVE. May GOD BLESS all of you that work so hard to save these wonderful beings. 🐘❤🐘❤🐘❤🐘❤🐘

Being a mommy to chana is medicine to our lovely kabu all female elephants have being a mom hard wired in there instinct and she was greiving the children heartlessly stole off her in normal wild mom and daughters are togther for life chana has given her spark in her heart back she has a reason for existing again

She has been terribly mistreated as sadly I'm finding out most ELEPHANTS are. We must help them and support those saving them.

This video shows why elephants are so smart. I think in time, Kabu can still make lots of new friends there. I am not an expert, but it seems like when they make friends, they make friends for life! But she never forgets her children taken away from her. She needed deep inside to still be the mom she always wanted to be. Now, she can be that mom. Not from birth, but a mom to a probably difficult teenage girl. She needs to be there to say, hey, behave girl! To say; pffff act normal please, but I still love you! She needs this because it was taken away from her. She'll be okay. And the teen elephant will learn her lessons. This is was Kabu wants. In time, she will make friends, I have no doubt about that. I hope to meet her one day, and say in her ears; Kabu; know that the majority of people, hey, we are not that bad, enjoy your new life girl!

I miss these days of just Kabu and Chana. I know it's good that her herd is growing but it's not the same. Kabu gets left behind a lot because the rest of the herd is mobile. Maybe Kabu doesn't mind and is content. I'm not sure. I love you Queen Kabu👑❤️, you, Medo, Jokia are my biggest inspirations at ENP.

Watching the first half of this documentary makes me 😭 so sad. I’m so sorry Kabu. No elephant should ever have to go through this. Are there any Asian elephant conservation educational programs currently in the schools for young children? Maybe we can all work together so that elephants can someday in the near future be allowed to live free from any human harm in the wild. These intelligent non-humans deserve to be treated with compassion, kindness, love and respect. 💕 I love you 😘 Kabu.

I miss these days of just Kabu and Chana. I know it's good that her herd is growing but it's not the same. Kabu gets left behind a lot because the rest of the herd is mobile. Maybe Kabu doesn't mind and is content. I'm not sure. I love you Queen Kabu👑❤️, you, Medo, Jokia are my biggest inspirations at ENP.

Watching the first half of this documentary makes me 😭 so sad. I’m so sorry Kabu. No elephant should ever have to go through this. Are there any Asian elephant conservation educational programs currently in the schools for young children? Maybe we can all work together so that elephants can someday in the near future be allowed to live free from any human harm in the wild. These intelligent non-humans deserve to be treated with compassion, kindness, love and respect. 💕 I love you 😘 Kabu.
