A part of the issue is that the cooker height is below the worktop and it should be adjusted either by integral adjustable feet if fitted or if not maybe stood on a bit of 600 x 600 x 12mm board.
Due to the clearances above the cooker already being too low, I couldn’t further reduce the distance. This only gave me the option to add worktop edging strips. 👍
I’ve seen In some cooker insterlation manuals there ment to be a 50mm gap each side of the cooker. Is that down to gas regs? Or just manufacture recommendations.? The cooker on the video looked like a tight fit
Yes it should, or at least, even with it. My reason for not lifting the cooker level up is due to the clearances above the hob to the extractor and wall cupboards already being too low.by my lifting the height of the cooker, I would be making them clearances less. At the moment, there was no signs of heat damage above, but if I lifted the cooker, I could not say that it would not burn anything above. So I left the clearances above the same, marked them down on the paperwork, and added worktop edging strips to protect the worktop. 👍
Please send me your videos. WhatsApp 07725 692699

How did you get that button on the cooker lid unstuck? Please share. Thanks.
Good question. Hopefully Elliot will answer soon. Thanks
I can’t believe the original fitter of the potterton thought those fixings would be strong enough to support that boiler on that wall

Always to manufacture instructions 1st.
charging 10k for an accessible bath is an absolute disgrace
Agreed and that was supply only, according to the customer (who supplied it) thats the market price.....
The market is skewed because many will be part of a local authority funded package. Unfortunately.
Hi shouldn’t the cooker be at the same height as the work tops to stop the burning damage !

Reference that cooker , if u cant get the button working, what happens if u remove the lid , then the safety device isnt a issuie?
Ian Thatcher I would ring the manufacturer to ask about that. My gut feeling is you cannot adapt an appliance, but I don’t know the answer.
Not all cookers have that safety device especially older types
I was taught it was a flame failure device (ffd) not flame supervision device (fsd) on anything fitted with a thermocouple
People seem to have different names for things. An FSD is what’s inside the oven - lights low, goes high, reduces to low when thermostat kicks in.
Exactly Ed, a flame failure is obviously when there is no flame then the gas cuts off 😉
Slip of the tongue. I’ll just say, safety feature next time hahaha
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You have a record of service of what readings on previous
Service. A benchmark on when first installation. 🙄
I noticed you fitted metal edges on both sides of the cooker on the work top for safety. 🙄
Never seen anybody write in order
Cooker well below level of worksurface.
50mm adjustment available on the feet, original instal is poor
