    This touched home for me. I’m 47 years old. I had Invisalign 15 years ago to fix crooked teeth. My teeth look great, though I have a slight overbite, but I feel like my sleep is progressively getting poorer. My nose is always stuffed up, and I had a septoplasty two years ago. It has helped, but still not good. I wear my retainers each night, but sleep with my mouth clinched. I wake frequently as I feel like I’m fighting to breathe. I’m strongly considering seeing Dr. Movahead to get his assessment. As much as I want a healthier lifestyle, I’m not crazy about the thought of starting MSE and orthodontics again at my age.

    4 to 6 millimeters expansion. Approximately how much forward movement could he potentially get using a face mask? Is that one or both jaws?

    Hi, i think I have a little bit of hipercifosis and my neck is a little bit forward, but i do always have all my tongue on the roof of my mouth, is there any problem?

    does the face really need more width? i feel like what he needs is solely the forward with surgery. granted i haven’t seen his airways or upper palate but..

    Very good stream!, I watched it completely. I also have a question. What affects the face is just having bad body posture? Or what affects the face is having bad body posture, which causes your tongue not to be on the roof of your mouth. I say this because I have kinda bad body posture but my tongue is allways completely at the roof of my mouth.

      Posterior tongue tie prevents the tongue from hitting the back of the palate.
      I believe what affects posture is just not being active enough due to the inability to breathe. Also, the forward head posture puts your body in a state where the joints are not stacked on each other. It’s a relaxed and passive posture and muscles just dont engage the same way. Also, it’s lot of work to keep a forward head up, and the body just fatigues faster hence the slouching and posterior pelvic tilt.

      @@MVMM-yo8rz Bro, but everybody has posterior tongue tie

    • @MVMM-yo8rz
      @MVMM-yo8rz 2 місяці тому +1

      @@ianadriansw206 Yes, you are correct. Everyone’s tongue is tied. But a tongue tie is defined by restricted movement that prohibits proper oral function. If it prevents the back of the tongue from suctioning to the roof of the mouth then it’s restricted. Yours truly, sis

      @@MVMM-yo8rz mine's not restricted

      @@ianadriansw206 You would probably have to get evaluated as a posterior tongue tie is one of the hardest to diagnose. It was missed by 4+ professionals in my kids, mainly because they weren’t looking for it, and finally Dr Ting pointed it out.
      I likely have one too because I was a thumb sucker for the first 8 years of my life which is a red flag for posterior tongue tie. Why? Because the back of the tongue can’t hit the palate, so baby can’t soothe. Thumbs and pacifiers become easy soothers in that case.
      If your jaws are currently deficient, you have a lot of tongue taking up space in your mouth. And it may trick you into thinking you don’t have restriction. But imagine that same tongue in a fully developed mouth with big jaws as Ron puts it. It may not reach the upper palate from back to front because it’s tethered.
      Just some things to think about. It’s best to keep getting assessed to paint the full picture. Oral ties are likely the #1 cause of deficient jaws, not something that’s talked about much on this channel. Although Ron did get his daughter’s released, so he seems to understand now. With tongue ties come lip and buccal ties as well. If you have receding gum lines, buccal ties are basically pulling down on the tissue that covers the roots of your teeth.
      Everyone with deficient jaws should be getting their ties released and going through myo at some point in their expansion journey. Ting recommend after expansion. But without release and myo, there will be regression.
      Also, when it comes to mewing, the younger guys in the jaw hacks community that don’t have access to a good ortho, may have some pretty good luck with tie release and myo. And that’s something that can be started immediately.

    tbh i think the alf and your own improved posture has done alot, you look way better now than the older school photo. great you didn't have extractions aswell. I'm not sure an MSE would do alot and as Ron said could do more harm than good especially in this case.
