Great video, Ron. Thanks for shedding more light on how the EASE works. FYI, for folks watching, I'm the guy he mentions at 2:22 who was starting to develop an asymmetry. Just wanted to update here that the asymmetry is almost entirely resolved. I talk about it in my latest video. Also, funnily enough, I'm currently trying on an MSE. A lot of the problems with MSE are mitigated if it's installed after those bone cuts are made with the EASE procedure.
Thanks for the update.
I would love if you two did a collaboration video, been following both of you. Are there any doctor, orthodontists or surgeons that are willing to do endoscopy assisted mse? The way that Li is cutting and scoring and expanding as a pyramid/box tent shape I think is really what is needed, as well as the vertical screws being replaced with a horizontally directed expander.
@@EthanThomas33 It would be awesome colab
Would you please ask Dr. Li if it would be possible to fix a big asymmetry created by the MSE by doing EASE just on one side?
@@stefm5640 I'm not sure I understand. The TPD that he places installs into both sides of the palatal vault. Can you expand on what you mean by doing EASE on one side?
@JawHacks can you do a full vid on EASE
Thank you for covering EASE, this was very interesting. I'll watch the whole video with Daniel. I'm also a musician (singer).
Regarding asymmetry, I find it difficult to accept that in this day and age there isn't device that can control the expansion on each side of the palate and therefore control symmetry. Maybe providers are not putting enough emphasis on such an important aspect and have settled with the existing devices (MSE, TPD)?. I guess there are some physical limitations for the device, but I just wonder if it wouldn't be possible to develop a device that can control expansion independently on each side, or something similar to control symmetry?
Regards!
This!🙏🏻
I've played several instruments including saxophone and in some ways it's very much an issue for me because the reed pushes down and back on the lower and naturally I have an overbite and jet. Plus the body position (along with guitar, piano) it's almost always asymmetrical. It's very obvious to see how it impacted my whole body's bone and muscle growth.
Looks like we’ll be seeing some great improvements for the MSE in probably the nit so distant future
I think nasomaxillary expansion will be refined tremendously in the coming decade. I also hope one of those improvements will be to pair it more often with mandibular distraction.
And if I have a deep bite, is it advisable to lift it or do I just continue with good habits? because I'm afraid of worsening my progress, thank you very much 🙏🏻
Thanks for the video. EASE seems great for symmetry, but the problem with it is mostly the lack of providers and the price tag.
Yes that is an inconvenience. But I think that the problem with EASE is that it can also be an asymmetrical expansion. That really puts me off of doing it. If I was gonna do it, I'd want to be certain that my expansion will be symmetrical.
The lack of availability and price tag basically make it not even an option for most. Hence we end up back at MSE and similar nasomaxillary expanders.
@@EatYourUranium wow
@@JawHacks does Dr yuseffian also do the piezoelectric saw? Is that used on the mandible in expansion as well?
@@tonato17 You will never get that certainty with any kind of expansion. Expansion will always be unpredictable. It’s impossible to say how your anatomy will respond. EASE is about as close as it gets because of the surgical cuts that influence how the expander pushes the bone, but it’s still impossible to predict how your bone will behave.
So regarding asymmetry and results in general is better to get surgically assisted MSE then just ordinary manual device procedure?
ofc
Have you thought about talking to Dr Kasey Li about the ease and uploading it?
I would love to! Can you set it up for me :)?
Has anyone consulted with a surgeon about surgeries moving the malar region with the maxilla? Maybe that could help if one has the money for it. To target the asymmetry at the skeletal level
Haven't heard of this.
@@JawHacks from what I’ve researched, there’s variations of the lefort 3 surgery that can move the upper maxilla/whole maxilla with the malars or just the malars alone. Im planning to take this route after my Mse, especially if my asymmetries get worse
@@JawHacks if you don’t mind answering, Is the piezo saw docs are now using for Mse splitting the midline suture or separating the malars from the maxilla? Newaz mentioned it to me but i forgot to ask about it more
Does EASE give any AP projection?
Probably a minimal amount, similar to MSE. Roughly a millimeter, perhaps up to 2mm.
Do you think Cillian Murphy definitely has a wide pallet
& always naturally mews or maybe always mewed naturally as a child & teenager but doesn’t necessarily still have proper tongue posture due to modern lifestyle
some people that have good jaws and are deemed attractive like henry cavill do not have wide pallets.
Weel ease sound much better
