Since her stint on Broadway (finally fulfilling her life-long dream) and the release of her first solo album, Kirstie is getting a lot more leads and getting to write more original songs. After years of being somewhat timid and shy (and unnecessarily self-conscious about certain physical and voice attributes) she is FINALLY stepping out of her shell...and she's kicking butt and taking names!! It's been truly a beautiful and marvelous thing to see!! Kirstie has become my favorite member and she really has the voice of an angel.
There’s nothing I love more than original PTX music so I’ve been wearing a huge smile for the last 24 hours. Way to go PTX! So proud! Thanks for reacting so promptly to this one and for taking the time to post your reaction.
Kirstie has the lead in Say Something, Rather Be, Water (original, no video), and Shallow. Also some of the Christmas songs, though I can never remember which ones.
Welcome to the Pentatonix rabbit hole. Some of us have been here a long time, and we almost feel like family ( in my case, grandparents). Enjoy the journey! Kirstie wrote this piece as well!
I love this song so much and I have been listening to this song all week and please react to these songs Happy Now, Imagine, Hallelujah,Dreams, Can you feel the love tonight etc!
I love this new, fresh, original "pop" song ! Stunning visuals, and everyone is fantastic ! This Pentaholic really enjoyed this. As always they did a magnificent job. The message is uplifting, and fun. Be My Eyes, with so much bombarding us in life these days, with wayward thoughts, please help me see what is correct and help me. Love it. You hit on the things we needed to notice. Thank you. :)
Love your reactions & respect for PTX & their fam base... you are a Pentaholic... just look at your playlist!!! I believe it was Scott supporting Matt & sometimes Kirstin. Remember Sound of Silence. Scott’s baritone range can go low. Mitch’s higher harmonies were spectacular! Kevin is a tenor so if not beatboxing he’s in a higher register. I got Orinoco Flow/Sail Away vibes from Enya at the beginning! Beautiful and creative and different! It deserves radio airtime. If you close your eyes & listen, you would NEVER guess it’s acapella!!!! A whole new original album dropping 02-12-2021! Matt’s first!
Rock Solid Reactions absolutely! We fans know honesty when we hear it! Also would recommend Happy Now! It was the first original they released, a few weeks ago, that will be on the new album too! It’s superb as well!
Ah, You having kids... I recommend Superfruit’s Frozen Medley. Superfruit is Mitch & Scott and they “perform” with Kirstie. It’s so much fun I think Kirstie wrote Be My Eyes
Very pleased with your reaction ! I had to wait until now to discover it, and I’m not disappointed. This one is really special I think, as good as any others before, but the tune is somehow different, and, we really forget it is an a capella performance as the arrangement makes it feel so full. Again, I loved the kids reference ! I would suggest you to react with your kids to their "wizard of ahhhs" by Todrick Hall, rendered with so much fun and talent, and a superstar Kirstie starring Dorothy...
Three more originals I would love to see you react to, and you might want to bring in the 6 year old to watch with you: 1. Sing - this song will make you smile and move. 2. Cracked - There is no official video so you will have to watch a concert live version and 3. Come Along - Think that if Disney made a sequel to the Day of The Dead animated move, this would make the perfect theme song. Only Come Along is not an original, the other two are.
I have been sll over the place checking various reaction videos for Be My Eyes especially. I love how every reviewer ts flunnoxed by the sheer talent(s) of this group. But why has no one mentioned Kirstie's gorgeous, hypnotic eyes?
I just need to say: I LOVE your voice, your personality, your approach to everything in your reactions and comments. Thank you for being a GOOD father (I know I'm assuming a lot in this statement but it's just what I feel.) Your comments are creative as well.
Thanks for another great reaction. I think with Scott taking a back seat on this one that he is holding down the beat along with Kevin and Matt in between Scott's background singing. I had to listen to it several times to be able to distinguish between them knowing that Scott has a pretty low range for a baritone and holds down the base when Matt (or Avi in the past) sing. This was a great song that I foresee hitting the radio. So glad to see Kirstin shine on this one, especially since she wrote it. The EP she released last year to me was so underrated and she also wrote the songs for that one. I recommend listening to her songs from that EP (I loved "Break a Little", both official video and acoustic version are great which I related to so much at the time personally). Have an awesome day! 😊
@@rocksolidreactions3901 No worries. Keep doing what you are doing. Since you are new to PTX, might I suggest you go and watch some of Avi Kaplan's latest works. He was the original bass that Matt replaced when Avi left to spend time with his family and friends. In addition to working on his solo career and write the songs that were in his heart. I promise you, you won't be disappointed! Look for "Change on the Rise, Otherside, Aberdeen (Alt ), Chains, It knows Me" and more. Listen to Change on the Rise official version withi5 octaves and can hit a G1 These songs will make you appreciate Avi's voice range. Have fun and enjoy. BTW...no really, not a fan at all!
Just got notified of this reaction video, dude you shocked the hail out of me when I heard my name. Bud, like your reaction, and we have out arms open for you, you can be a Pentaholic (just remember to buy the hat, and yes, on the Official Pentatonix web page there IS a Pentaholic baseball cap) Glad I could help, I have many more suggestions for you and some will take down a side corridor of the rabbit hole wither it be Superfruit (Scott and Mitch) or Todrick Hall (does some collaborations with PTX and then there is a corridor that has doors leading to their solo work
Great reaction! Welcome to the Pentaholics! Kevin has an incredible range, but often it's Scott that fills in the Bass part (he has an incredible range too!) And we will watch any PTX reaction that you post, lol!
I'm new here and binge watching your PTX reactions! Love them! Keep it up! Have you reacted to "Happy Now" yet? It's another newly released PTX original!
You got yourself a new subscriber:) that was an awesome reaction to their new song, Ive played it way to many times in 24 hours to be healthy, im addicted I think
Totaly conjecture, but it seems one of the secrets to the success of this group is their support of the individual members “projects”...then coming back together as PENTATONIX !!!
Ok so Scott put out new music, solo music. A song called Mars. Will you react? Also Pentatonix released Prayers for this world and dates for a tour and a whole album release date.
New sub here - loved this reaction - this so needs to be given radio air time. See you on the next one. Going now to check out the ones you've already done :)
Enjoyable and uplifting song isn't it? Normally Kevin has quite a high register as singer (check Evolution of Michael Jackson, Imagine or Down), so don't think he's doing the "bassy dropdowns" >> probably Matt. Could Matt voice be a little bit overlapped in this song? I agree It sounds like "two" basses are singing at the same time... Anyway I love it and I'll be listening it a couple of hundred times more... ;D See you in the next one
@@katkaplesarova1446 The more I listen this song, the more I believe many of their voices are overlapped (Matt’s and Mitch’s), like some kind of support background. Scott’s voice is hard to detect though, but it’s very close to Kirtie’s in the middle tones
@@terrynewman2841 Not sure ;D The more I listen to this the more I hear Scott in the middle tones. In the "dum dum dum", Matt does the first one (the lowest) and Scott the second one (Mitch does the last). And Scott keeps singing in that middle range supporting Kirstin. Btw this line of Dum dum dums seem prerecorded to me (same feeling as "Happy now"), as many of their voices sounds twice at the same time in some parts. Anyway it doesn't matter who sings what, let's just enjoy the song as it is.

Kirstie wrote this song. This is one of 17 tracks (11 original) ,music in new album (release 2/12/2021). Great reaction.
Thank you!
Omg! It sounds so much like Orinoco Flow (Sail Away) by Enya. Love it!
Keep reacting to PTX, and your viewership will only grow.
Yup :)
Loving your reactions and yes, you are a pentaholic.
Nice reaction. Thanks.
Kirstie has the lead in Say Something, Rather Be, Water (original, no video), and Shallow. Also some of the Christmas songs, though I can never remember which ones.

Wow! Coming from The Hassan Ahmed haha

Great reaction. Genuine. Enthusiastic.

Thank you so much for your kind words and the sub anne!
this would be an awesome "radio" song....
Have you seen their "Happy Now" yet? :) It's so good, and a great video, and I think you would enjoy it!

You should do Happy Now, it’s also an original.

Probably Matt doing the bass runs since Kevin is a tenor.

Kirstie put out a good album of original songs in 2017 called LOVE.
