- With the fifth generation of My Little Pony due to kick off in the fall with a brand new movie, speculation amongst fans of the pastel painted ponies is at an all time high. Will this new generation have ties to Friendship is Magic? What’s going to happen in the movie? And what is the deal with the tennis ball? Today on Theory Pop, we’re taking a look at the movie synopsis, and the recently released promotional materials, to try and answer some of these questions.

Interesting theory about the cutie mark appearance leading them to drive her out of town. Though, it may be possible she already has one, just that the art style choice is only having them on the right flank.
I believe they’ll have cutie marks on both flanks. Izzy has been shown with her cutie mark on her left flank, but I intend to cover cutie marks in more depth later.

@@astraponydumbgo8970 Well When Tirak drained Magic from Ponies ... their cutie marks disappeared. If Equestria lost its magic, no pony would have a cutie mark... and years of no magic would make the concept of cutie marks alien to the ponies ... and just stuff of legends and stories ... what if Izzy somehow created a SMALL spark of magic ... and it was enough to get 'half' a cutie mark but not enough to get a 'full' cutie mark? (half as in on one flank only)

I'm a bit in the air right now but, all the same I can't wait to see the movie. Then decide if I want to keep watching through the serious when comes out.

If the old enemies rumored to be in this movie are who we THINK they are.. It could be possible THEY were the ones who took away the magic.
Ergo the Mean 3.... Now why would they do this? Because they believe that their abilities would be immune to this removed element. Only to realize: "Wait? Why can't I fly? Or use my cutie mark ability"

"Well, I'm going to change and cause trouble.... Wait... Why can't I Change my form?!!".
This might just be a thing in the movie to connect the generations.
I mean you can fly without magic if you have wings ... but yeah the rest would make sense... also without magic cutie marks would disappear ... like when Tirek was draining magic, the ponies he drained their cutie marks faded and vanished

Oooh, maybe! Or perhaps he follows them after they leave to “keep an eye on them” and they find this out later. There’s some interesting possibilities as to how and when Hitch joins the group!
What happened to Twilight? Since she's a princess alicorn, She's supposed to be immortal so is she trying to change the world back to how was when it had magic or is she just too old and lazy to fix it? (Keep in mind Twilight is my favourite charecter so I'm not trying to criticize her.)
Remember, Magic is what makes alicorns immortal. So without magic, she would probably age normally. OR at a faster pace. Though she might have scienced something to save herself.

What about luster dawn?
Not in the movie but they should put in the three villains to come back in g5 seasons as they don't know what happened and will use that to their advantage.
The villains would definitely find a way to try and take advantage of the situation!
Excuse me, what happened to twilight sparkle, discord, luster dawn, luster's dawn friends and every creatures in g5? since this is takes place in the world of g4

I don't think they will be banned to come back but maybe she will have enough to do something abt it with the unicorn. Will leave her village for her own reason but let's see I am soooo excited for this movie to come even though I am alittle older than a person to watch it who should be 10 I think

Should be something a bit different for MLP!
I never even noticed the mane 6 figurines on her stand holy shit ... and since toys and collectibles did exist in gen 4 ... it makes sense they'd create figurines out of the legendary heroes ... and just like the stories of Starswirl and his friends were passed down ... it makes sense the story of Twilight and her friends would be too... And this is most likely a future where the main six (excluding Twilight) are really old or dead ... and if Equestria lost its magic Alicorns may have lost their immortality and gone extinct meaning all the gen 4 alicorns could very well be old or dead ... and thus why the royal families are divided among Earth, Pegasus, and Unicorn... and without magic, the rules of the Everfree Forest may now apply to the rest of the world ... Applejack said it wasn't natural that plants grew on their own and animals cared for themselves and as we saw the ponies controlled day, night, seasons, etc ... without magic what if everything started to work the way it does in the human world? And without alicorns would unicorns have to control the sun and moon or did it start to happen on its own?

Yep, due in the fall! Rumour has it September, but I haven't seen any official confirmation of that yet.
@@TheoryPop oh it was officially confirmed to be Septenber 24.
Several books to be published by Harper Collins in August also mention this date in their back covers. That's double confirmation!

@@TheoryPop I mean its not like much has changed for earth Ponies. They never had magic to begin with so I do wonder what could have changed it the time that's elapsed from gen 4.
Maybe their deep connection with the land isn’t as strong as in FiM?
@@TheoryPop And how was it Strong In Gen 4 because we NEVER got a clear example of what Earth Ponies could Do That Pegas and Unicorns can not.
The Earth Ponies never had any Magic to begin with So I suspect that they will be doing better that the other two races without magic.
i'm pretty sure Earth Ponies have bigger strength thanks to magic

If they bring Discord back, I’d want his first appearance to be that he arrives in his FiM 2D design, looks at the ponies and says “oh, we’re doing this now?” then snaps his fingers and changes to a CGI look. That feels very Discord.
Ok I looked back and was wrong ... their Cutie Marks didn't disappear when Tirek drained their Magic ... which makes no sense ... cause when the Princesses gave all their magic to Twilight ... they lost their Cutie Marks...?
