you can get a marshall valvestate and a wem dominator for less than you paid for that vox, i see WEMs going for around £300, and marshall valvestates for £100-200. me personally i get basically all the way there with an epiphone sheraton and an SL drive into any clean amp, and its close enough for me.
That's interesting to know. I just put this setup together with stuff I already had. I didn't pay full price for the vox just included the RRP for each item for the sake of the video. Obviously you can get stuff used for cheaper. Interesting about the wems tho. Might have to check a cheap one out
@@willwolf4627 dunno where my comment went but there’s 3 for sale within an hours drive. The uk is full of vintage WEM equipment, everywhere else not so mucb
I don't think the casino does a bad job and he has used them at points. But I do agree that any of the humbucker equipped epiphones would do the job also
second hand japanese gibson copy like a tokai or a greco would probably be better value. especially for first album a les paul would be a better value option. as someone else mentioned wems are £300 and a valvestate 8080 £100. then you need a tube screamer and a tape delay. tc gauss echo and a behringer ts copy are £100 for both. all in in that should be less than £800. which is a fair bit cheaper
There are definitely lots of different ways it could be done and yes you could definitely do it cheaper with second hand gear. For these videos I just include the prices of the gear new as these prices are more consistent
Just use a fuck ton of drive!
Interesting, i think it sounds pretty close. Could you do a deeper dive into the gear he uses in a future video?
Thanks! That's an interesting idea. I could certainly look into it
Good job mate 👍
sounds great, are you using a mic or an IR? (if so what mic/IR?)
I'm using GGD zilla cabs IRs. I believe the one I'm using in this is a greenback micd with a 57

The challenge is: Find a Wem dominator

@@JamesDorsett11 or you can get some marshall origin 20 for lower price
You could easily get a valvestate and wem for under the price of a Ac15
Not easy to find a Wem these days though.
not nearly enough gain, probably because the feedback was getting out of hand one of the reasons Noel never plays casinos
Could have sworn I remember reading about him using a casino on a song or 2 for dig out your soul
Literally any other epi semi-hollow would be better....Casino is absolutley not the right choice
