This game is almost as far from Elden Ring as a game can get but i like it, it's nice to have a linear mission based game... Especially one that's this fast paced and smooth
@@SteeleStrifewell the biggest thing that mindset will mess you up with is the simple fact, there are no invincibility frames, if the thing you dodge makes contact, it's gonna F you up.

I don't have to be invested and absorbed in the world of the game for hours and hours on end, I just want to have fun and have an objective sometimes
Yeah dont be afraid to mess around with builds. Its daunting at first with the stats but you'll get the hang of it. Item descriptions are important, especially targeting computers. They literally change how well target assist, the souls like hard lock on of this game, works. I remember doing arena matches and had a mid range target assist however I would lose track of the AC I was fighting because I was more of a close range fighter so I was literally playing my build wrong until I switched to a more useful one for my play style, which is aggressive.
Good info. I'll toss in that I think the best playstyle in general is AGGRESSIVE in all caps. If you struggle hard with a boss, you can usually beat it fairly easily if you try out different builds. But generally, ALWAYS be moving and be AGGRESSIVE. And you'll get through. Just beat my first playthrough yesterday. I thought the game was challenging but fairly easy until the chapter 4 boss knocked me down several pegs 😂. Really great game.
Wow better than any gaming journo. Figured out to use the buildings for cover, to use the sword, and to keep in close combat. 10/10 learning ability for a new armored core player.

I'm down to watch you play this. I just watched Asmongold play the whole campaign. It will take you a good bit for sure and it is all fun. Some missions are decision based meaning you can't pick the others, so you choose your path. The story kicks up during the 2nd half. You can also make and add your own emblems. So be sure to do that!
A fun little fact not many people realize. Armored Core existed long before Dark Souls, Demon Souls, Seikiro, Elden Ring, all of them. The very first Armored Core game's first mission, literally throws you against two heavy MTs in a small arena, and gives you NOTHING in the way of a tutorial. you are not taught any controls, and that game came out before Dual Shock was a thing. A lot of the FromSoftware difficulty curve comes, not from Dark Souls, but from the early Armored Core.

@@SteeleStrife I made the horrible mistake of tackling him with a more prolonged story build, linear rifle/laser handgun and pulse missiles. That was a mistake 😅 I've never really played the souls games, AC vet since the PS2 days. I annihilated the sea crab first try with piledriver shotgun/ twin rifle builds (basic long mission/boss hybrid build) the got rocked again on LCs. Click in right stick to hard lock. It keeps the camera facing the target. However weapon tracking is worse with hard lock. It is still usefull for some bosses.
