Got the Slash Ultimate a couple weeks ago, getting back into RC... its totally super fun, can do almost anything, from bashing fields, big air, high speed, even had a ton of fun on the track with a wheel and tire swap!
Love that you have a new hobby that you enjoy!! Looking forward to seeing where it takes you! 💙
Thank you babe!! I love how you always support me ❤️👊
To the repair shop.
I've had the same truck for 5 years and it still looks new. No scratches, no breaks, no errors. I keep it rubber side down. It takes a little practice but it can be done. I didn't feel the need to destroy the car in the process of learning. Slow down. Go to a 2 cell battery. The slash can be nearly unmanageable on 3 cell.
The grounds keeper will be loiking for you 😆😆😆😆
Thanks for this! I’m planning on getting one of these beauties for myself. I currently have a Traxxas Bigfoot (XL-5, 2WD Stampede with a body designed after the original Bigfoot). I’ve had nothing but good times with it, but after over 2 years of it being my only RC car, I think it’s time to get another. Initially I was thinking about an XL-5 Rustler for racing, but then I thought ‘If I’m gonna get another, I might as well get an upgrade’.
That’s when I chose the Slash 4X4 VXL. The first Traxxas I ever drove was a slash (at a local hobby shop before I got my Bigfoot) and I remember it as being a heap of fun. The Stampede is great, and I’ll miss its ability to wheelie on demand, but there are limitations to it being 2WD (for example, when accelerating, it tends to lift the front end, reducing how effective steering is) and it flips a lot. Plus, I know I can handle much higher speeds than it can accomplish. The Slash 4X4 VXL is the logical next step for me.
Hi kids.
Please be aware that a driving your rc on a baseball field is called vandalism. It is tempting for sure but the time and money that it takes to prep the infield isn't done so you have a nice smooth surface to Trash.
Don't be that one who makes us all look like A big ole bunch of stupid thoughtless mutha lovers.
It’s public just dirt, you are allowed to do that 🤦♂️
@@Rhanafortinit’s really not “just dirt.” They lay people to come prep the infield and smooth the playing surface. Just because you don’t care about it doesn’t mean it’s ok. It’s becoming harder and harder to actually find a place to enjoy RC, partly because of people like you and the guy that made 🎉this video.

slash 4x4 was my first rc car, I love it. Easy to work on, lotsa parts available. When you want it to go faster, there are easy upgrades so as your knowledge grows the car can grow with you. In my newbie opinion the slash is one of the best rc cars out there, #1 rule for me is have fun, the rest is icing on the cake.
Is it good I’m planning on buying this in the next couple days
@@michaelbyrd3630I love my slash, I could not be happier with my choice.
@@michaelbyrd3630I just took my buddy to the hobby shop and he picked up the identical model as in the video. Great cars.
That's great ripper up a baseball pitch after its been all smoothed out well done
Great vid man 👍
But a little tip I have is to keep the camera up a little, there were parts where we couldn’t see the car otherwise good work😁
Thank you for the feedback! Made sure the GoPro was aimed better in the video I’m editing now 👊
Nice video. I prefer the 2wd Slash for it's simplicity. I had I 4x4 Slash but, I ended up selling it. I got the Arrma Senton 4x4 instead. It's much more reliable and durable.
The 2wd does look cool! I can tell I’m going to go down a rabbit hole and get a bunch of RCs over time 🤣👊
I wanna buy my son the slash , can you go In depth why you didn't like the 4x4
Great video! It’s fun watching new people in the hobby! You got a new sub from me!
Thank you for watching and thanks for the sub! 👊👊
I got one in a trade . you can't go wrong with a 4X4 truck . I race carpet cars at two different tracks . One said I could race in the novice class (run what you brung ) and the other only ran 2wds , but all you would have to do is take the drive shaft out. I know this place you were running at Locust Park
I think this is the best rc truck Traxxas has in my opinion. It takes a lot of abuse and keeps on ticking
Say I brought up I brought a Traxxas Slash and a RC crawler that goes really fast because of the stuff I put in it
Fans and captured outer hub pins are a plus
Fun as hell! 😎👍
Definitely like to buy my brother this slash just gonna put the traxxas esc fan motor heat sink and fan rpm lower arms and shock caps to future proof it
Nice!
My plan is to buy one tomorrow. The fox body is sold out. But for $399 that's not a bad starter price. Plus all the parts are fairly cheap
Check out the LCG kit for the 4x4 Slash.
Will do! Thanks!
my dog would love that😂 its the only reason i want that thing .
Yeah that thing is sick but don’t worry about it breaking because if it does you’ll know great vid
Just bought one yesterday and i was mudding 😂😂
Should get a ess one+ sound system for it. Have them in all my RC cars makes them sound awesome while driving.
Had no idea they made those
Nice Review!! I plan on getting the Slash Ultimate since it has more durable parts and does the same speed as the VXL. I can't wait!
Awesome! I’m sure I’ll get an Ultimate at some point lol. Enjoy!! 👊
I love my ultimate
@@Paul-wz1tm Nice!! Is it very durable??
Hardly ever wreck next to me..its always 600 yards out lol
Sick frs bro🔥🔥🔥
yea, there would be an instant esc/motor upgrade. Mamba/ 4600kv on 4s.
Tires last a lot longer on dirt. Asphalt eats em up.
Makes sense lol
Baseball field maintenance does not like you! 😢
😂
Haha Fr. My local elementary has 2 baseball fields and one of them hasn’t been used in years so my buddy and I tear it up
Buying one next month
I had the same one, go ahead and order basics like arms. Pinion and drive. Gearing means a lot on these. Never buy plastic
Thanks for the heads up! 👊
Looks so fun
Move back here, buy one and let’s race 🤣
What's you take on the Slash Ultimate? Or the Slash 1/16 scale? Still liking the 4x4 VXL? Any issues with it? Any other RC acquisitions since buying the Slash 4x4 VXL? Thank you for your time and the video.
Thanks for watching! I am so new to this hobby myself! The Ultimate looks great, I’m sure I will end up with one in my collection at some point. I love the VXL! I’ve got some parts on hand now for any issues. My buddy gave me a Team Assiciated Nitro Street car that I am going to get up and running soon, but I do plan on getting more RCs soon 👊
Just bought that body for my slash ultimate since the stock body was trash
Nice! Sure I’ll need a new body soon with how much abuse it’s taken 🤣
@@the_scubadriver the fox black and white body you have is on sale for $39 on amain I’m thinking of getting the heatwave f100 next
How long did it last? I want one
Last in what way? Like durability? Or battery life?
Uh I broke the rear u joint thing first drive…
Good video but sure would actually see it jump.
Yessir
Dude you're ripping up the freshly groomed infield! That is why parks around the country are banning RC!!! Use your common sense!
Whoops
Who cares 😂😂😂
Doesn’t hurt the field I do it all the time 🤷🏻♂️
@@the_scubadriveryou: IDGAS!!! IRDGAS!!!!!!!
🤦🏼♂️ 😂
I would like one but i feel like they brake really easy?
Just have to learn the limits, what upgrades are needed etc!
A hobby grade RC will break no matter what, it’s part of the fun!
What's wrong with good brakes?

METAL 🤘
This is everything but the perfect RC. The esc and motor overheat after only a minute. Save up extra money for a Maxx or Xmaxx or stay with a 2wd slash.
Interesting! I run though the battery and do not overheat at all. I’ll probably get an Xmaxx as well.
Sounds like your gear mesh is too tight or your gearing is wrong if you're running into overheating issues.
If you’re using a LiPo battery, Low Voltage Detection needs to be turned on, or else it can over-discharge and overheat.
I’ve had mine for a year, it has never overheated no matter how hard I drive
Just tell us you know nothing about Rx cars, I have had my slash fox since 2021 no issues I beat the hell out of it and it has never overheated I think your mesh it wayyy to tight and I run it on back to back 3s packs also maybe some people don't wanna blow over 1000 on their first RC car
Vxl3 and brushless motor with 19t pinion and 54t spur on 3s battery is 60mph+
I had a nitro Revo and that thing killed it,especially after I upgraded the axels. It was definitely fun but brushless is way faster. Great video. Looking at getting my son one of these. How long does the battery last?
