I just went on a long 9 hour flight to China and lo and behold. Chinese were taking my window seat and wanted me to go to sit in the middle of the 4 seat section in between the 2 Isles. Obviously I told them to get lost, (which they didn't want to). Dunno why they can't just wait for the flight to take off and then try find an empty seat afterwards. Also had the audacity not to want to move when I said I wouldn't take their offer of the worst seat on the plane.

I am sure most people would have decided to move to the 2 empty seats in the 2 seat Isle IF the plane had already taken off or it was about to and no one was sitting in those 2 seats. I wasn't late for boarding, they just tried to swipe the seat quickly. And because they were together as a couple both moved and luckily for me the seat next to wasn't booked and no one decided to sit in that seat.

I witnessed a similar case two years ago when I brought my elderly brother to visit our ancestors hometown in shantou. Because I worked in China for a couple of years as an expat I knew there will always be some unruly people who blatantly disregarded rules and regulations. Hence to ensure that my brother travelled comfortably I booked first class train tickets from Guangzhou to Shantou for my family with reserved seat numbers. And Lo and behold, one Chinese lady simply came to first class and sat in one of the reserved seats and refused to move. The train attendant was helpless and let her have her way after a prolonged argument. The one who had her seat ‘stolen’ eventually gave up 😢

I was on a train in China, and everyone ran fast into the train despite having assigned seats. I thought they were dumb to do so, later I found out that no one follows the rules or cares about the assigned seats.
Here in Argentina no one is punished for bad behavior on public transport so everyone can do whatever they want and they could continue travel as always even if they did something really wrong
