It really irks me that watching all of the reactions to this video how everyone always goes straight to Tati (as she deserves) and the drummer and drum line. Everyone just skips over the bass line. To me it is one of the dopest lines I have ever heard. Dude kills it.

    • @Logan-ed4pu
      @Logan-ed4pu 5 років тому +10

@@TheSpydyr I agree. Don't get me wrong. The vocals and drums are on their own level of awesome, and deserve the worship. The guitar tones are killer, and solid. But the bass line is just mind blowing, and under appreciated despite being brazenly slap you in the face up in the mix instead of buried to oblivion. None of the members of this band are a weak link.

I've seen them live one time only, when they came to Brazil, and had the chance to have a little time with them on a Meet and Greet promotion that I won, they are really cool people. But the thing is: I feel like the real fans actually know the talent and skill that every band member has, and don't credit only Tati's vocals. And I think it depends aswell on wheter you know more about music or not (or if you're more into metal too). For example, if I'm not a musician and I hear that song, the thing that will probably catch my attention the most, will be Tatiana's vocals. And I wouldn't be like: "wow look at that tapping bassline" or, notice that Vlad plays drums with the drumsticks inverted (I don't know if there's a name for that technique or something), or just about that guitar tone, and how everything blends so well together. But yea, that's basically it. My opinion tho :)

Spot on with the vocal doubling. This wasn't by far one of the strongest songs in the album but Vlad, the new drummer, put such a different spin on this song that they wanted to record it again (and film it), this time "off the floor", but to sound as close as possible to the multi-track studio version they added a few guitar and vocal tracks from the original recording to the final audio mix of this video. It's all explained in the description of the video. There are a few differences in the guitar work and in the vocal work between the two, though.
Little they knew this would blow up like it did. :D

Jinjer is from Ukraine. This is one of the fastest growing band in the world right now -
more than 130 concerts with full halls and stadiums on all continents (except Antarctica) last year and incessant tours this year (a new World Tour to release a new album begins in the fall).
Despite the fact that they are all from Ukraine, none of the participants ever speak Ukrainian, because they are from the Russian-speaking region Donbass where almost the entire population is Russian (there is a civil war right now that is supported by Russia on the one hand , and with another USA - there are two songs about it "Sit Stay Roll over" and "When Two Empires Collide"). All songs are in English only, but there is only one in Russian ("Желаю значит получу" - "I Want It I'll Get it").
    They are:
    Tatiana Shmailyuk - vocals
    Roman Ibramkhalilov - guitars
    Eugene Abdiukhanov - bass
    Vladislav Ulasevich - drums
Tatiana is a big fan of Amy Winehouse - she even makes a one tatoo in honor of Amy (you can also hear the musical imitation of Amy Winehouse at the end of the song "Who Is Gonna Be the One"
)... And she also likes to listen to classic rock, progressive and NU metal, hardcore and deathcore, hip-hop and rap, blues and soul...
She is 32 years old now.
She was born on March 15, 1987 in Gorlovka, Donbass, Ukraine
. After school, she entered the Pedagogical University and received a specialty as a teacher of Russian language and literature.
She never studied vocals (only one month when she was a child - she quit music school because she was bored there) and did not train in growling and screaming, she only has a unique natural talents and abilities.
In 2009, her friends from the young band Jinjer (was founded in 2008) were asked to temporarily replace vocalist Max Fatullaev who had left for the US until they find a new vocalist.
But Tatiana brought such energy to the band that she did not replace the old vocalist for a few times, but remained forever and became the real leader of this band and the author of 99% of all songs (lyrics)
    .
She has a big bunch of talents:
she writes poetry and is the author of 99% of the band's lyrics, she draws arts and creates tattoo sketches, she can make tattoos (all tattoos of other members of the band are her works), she sews well (look her homemade dresses in videos "I Speak Astronomy"-official video and "Captain Clock"-live at Ressurection Fest), she does all her jewelry and piercing accessories with her own hands (she generally loves to do all sorts of stuff with her own hands) and much more.
    So, greetings from Kiev, Ukraine!
    Peace!

In fact, everything is simple: I heard the band in the first years of its existence (I am from Kiev, but in 2007-2010 I lived in Gorlovka, from where Jinjer came from).
Since that time I have been constantly following them.
The most part of the information sounded by me is reflected on their official web-page, in Wikipedia. In addition, Tatiana and the band members often give interviews to our Ukrainian and foreign English-language media.

The rules are simple. A reaction that gives us all a good chuckle is one thing. A reaction that gives credit to her skill and talent, AND which gives love to the band, particularly the bassist, gets a like from me.

Excellent reaction! Shocked (like everyone is) but you recovered and appreciated Queen Tati's world class talent and the band as well. I also like how you seemed genuinely emotionally affected by her, which is a bit deeper than the typical reaction.
I subbed just so I can follow when you watch more Jinjer videos. My vote is Who's Gonna Be the One live.

Found your channel thru this reaction. Glad ya enjoyed her singing. Props to you also for recognizing that it was multi-layered on her vocals.. not many first time listeners to this song recognize that.
I am not sure what your musical background is as far as what you listen to.. but if you have not heard of some of the older metal bands I do recommend a deep-dive into the history of the genre.
I would start off with bands such as Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, etc.
Of the ones listed above, I highly recommend the band "Rainbow" with the song 'Stargazer' as a definite need-to-listen. One of the most iconic singers from the 70's through the 2000's until his death.. Ronnie James Dio as the vocalist. His style has been influential across the decades and is a good starting point for any metal journey. Following that, I would recommend the band "Judas Priest" with the song "Victim of Changes" for another influential, iconic vocalist Rob Halford.
Those two should get the ball rolling nicely.
    Peace

Old In This Moment before they went Lady Gaga. The first three albums and a little from Blood are perfect examples the rest of their albums they use effects to make her voice sound good. Live she isn't that great anymore that's why they use the theatrics to distract you, trust me seen them hundreds of times since their MySpace days and they are not the same ITM
