I just can’t feel comfortable with someone I met online. There is no way for them to prove they aren’t lying about everything even if they are nice when you meet in person. It’s much easier to meet someone through school, work, or through a common friend

The problem is that dating apps are too transactional and everyone on there is at their best. Social medial has ruined everything and has set above average standards on everything and everyone. Then once you meet them or see the real human side or see them at their worst your expectations are not met. It’s fake, it’s standards are unrealistic.

But, from reading the comments, I am becoming more and more informed on what dating apps are like and am now having second thoughts on getting one lol
It either a someone trying to get you to pay for their onlyfans, or a robot trying to get you to send them an itunes giftcard. A ton of people from other countries or a few ugly people. & on the extreme rare occasion you get a half decent looking real human to match with its just absolute silence. Ever since i got my cat ive never been lonely enough to redownload the apps

Come to find out he is a crackhead and alcoholic at 19 years old. He would get mad at me if I didn't drink with him, because he spent his money on alcohol for me. Even though I didn't ask for it. You really start knowing who that person is after 4 months. I broke up with him for my coworker. 3 years later, I'm happy and in love with a handsome Navy man. Whenever I hear someone, say they want to try a dating app. I'm like, nooooo, don't do it. It really does suck.
One issue is that women are so goal oriented on apps with qualifying men that they don't know how to chill out and have normal fun flirty interactions. They all go into interview mode almost immediately asking what you're looking for, etc..This is a huge turn-off because it isn't based on individual connection. Just a void they're trying to fill. I mean, yes, the eventual goal is to find an LTR with someone you connect with. But why not start slow and see if you even like talking to the person first? Trying to be efficient and rushed comes off so cold and detached.
