When I first started to watch this I actually thought that it was a real stamping platform...
This is one of the best DIY platforms I've seen, it looks amazing, it's cheap and does a really good job...
So well done and thank you for sharing it with us...
Have a fabulous week my lovely...

I don't know why the 'Misti' costs so much, but I sure am glad for your video. Don't know that all the supplies are available now, but hey, I have a table saw, glue and small nails...I can build it from scratch with what I have, hopefully getting a scrap of plexiglass from the local glass shop...and if not, I'll figure it out! Thank you! Blessings on your work.

You are super clever to come up this idea. You can buy those separately from any hardware store hon. I’m the same way, it’s hard to spend so much money on things like that Misty stamper. Go you, how clever. I’m making me on now using plexiglass that I have left over from another project. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍🏼 Yeah, us folks on a budget who can’t afford those ridiculous prices on craft supplies.

Wish I had seen this before I bought my misti! Enjoyed this immensly! And you've given me an idea for cases to keep my dies in! Those wood cases are much more cost effective than the notebooks!

Great idea! FYI... you can get thicker Plexiglass at your hardware store and they cut it! Pick it up when you pick up your vent magnetic sheets!👍💕

Good on you! I refuse to do business with My Sweet Petunia due to their disconcerting business practices. I'm actually surprised to be seeing more of these DIY's for stamping platforms in my feed as for a while, she was threatening content creators for "copying" her design (which she actually copied from a printing tool). I, too, refuse to pay an exorbitant amount for tools that shouldn't be priced that high. I know you posted this years ago and I do have another brand platform that does a terrific job that wasn't not terribly expensive. I just wanted to extend mad kudos to you.

Omggg...... you are a genius!!!!! I had a Misti in my hands today. Carried it all around the craft store. I wanted it sooooo bad. But I put it back on the rack. I just could not justify the price. I knew there had to be a better way to get one way cheaper. Thank you for this video!!!!!

You may be able to use the other part of the box to make a platform for wood mounted stamps. I am looking around for ideas on how make my own stamp platform for wood mounted stamps.

Hello Jen, I agree with everyone here, this is by far the best "make do" copycat Misti I've seen. I almost attempted to make one where one lady used the shadow box frame for kids art! But it would of been a tad more $$ to make. This is just the cats meow!!!! TY for your instructions and time to share with everyone who's looking for one.

Super awesome....I went tonight and bought a wooden cigar box, couldn't find one exactly like yours but it will work...already had the plexie glass so total cost 3.97 at walmart vs. the 70 bucks and something else I noticed is you have the ability to remove the layers for different types of stamps whereas; with the Misti I don't think you can do that so really this one is far far better then the Misti....Thank you so much for showing this video.....

Hi Jen, what a brilliant idea. This video was a must for me. I cannot get a misti for love nor money. Well to be honest who would spend £60 when I can make one for less than £10. Could you tell me what the foam is for. I am new to wanting to make cards. You have a new sub. Thank you so much for sharing. Love from the UK

Nice box you came up with. Yours came out really good Jen. I made several in different sizes repurposing things I already had around the house. As you have shown It's really not hard to do at all. Alternative things I used: Wooden picture frames, metal hinges with wood screws, cast off plexiglass from old storm door window which is easy to score with ruler and box cutter...snap it off at the edge of table...just be careful. I also used epoxy to attache plexiglass lid to hinges and similar materials as you used for inside the stamper. They are very sturdy, no lid wobble and give reliable impressions. I'm all about diy and saving money where I can. This is a big savings.

Thank you! What a great idea for the larger Faux Misti! Being fully customizable in regards to painting or decoupage, etc., is just a bonus, not to mention the price!
We found your video two days after you posted it and drove, my husband and I, to two different Hobby Lobby stores in the Las Vegas heat. Too late... This is a clearance item (red and yellow sticker) so they didn't have these exact cases on shelves anymore. If anyone finds these, the clearance section is where they might be, and they would indeed be fortunate. Maybe Hobby Lobby will bring these back in stock sometime in the future, but I don't see that happening anytime soon with them readying store shelves for the onslaught of massive amounts of Christmas items. (It's July!!)
I agree, the indented area would be perfect for lifting the clear sheet. We did find this right where you said it would be, in the candle isle. We will have to resort to getting a different wooden box. Hobby Lobby carries a few that look promising, but not as good as the one in your video. Once again, we make do on a budget. My idea for a similar-type largish box without an indent would be to cut the clear sheet to extend beyond the edge of the box a few centimeters, or keep the edge of the sheet flush with the box, but carve into the box slightly to make a slight indention for the fingers to easily lift the sheet.
This is the best video I've seen on this so far because the CD case hack is too small for my needs and the picture frame hack is just something I wanted to avoid doing. The whole top sheet being clear and flat is the ideal and you achieved that here. With your idea, it can be beautiful, sturdy, and inexpensive! Again, thanks so much. Genius!!

I've just spent (wasted?) a day watching DIY videos of how to do this. Yours is the best. So good I subscribed to your channel. I think the only thing I will do differently is the clear lid. I think I will use a standing frame from the Dollar Tree and use the stand part as a handle to add leverage. Also this will allow a thickness to drill holes for the hinges. Good job!

Just an idea too. you could add duct tape to the pieces inside make a tab and double it over so it isn't sticky, and make it so it hangs out of the box in different ares for each layer, so that yoou can remove the items easier when switching it to your needs

Or glue folded ribbon tabs to the backs of the chipboard, foam and magnet sheets. They'll last longer than the tape tabs.

Kathy Bury maybe you can find something similar in your local hobby or craft store. Or maybe even a big box store would have one. You just need anything with hinges. And I've seen the plexiglass in the framing section as well. It is labeled "replacement" for the glass part if a picture frame. Good luck!
