This clip is as good as any at demonstrating why Barker was the best game show host ever.
Great Showmanship
The excitement, the horns, the bells, the build up!! I LOVE how Bob plays this out. So great
Because if the host sees the big amount on money he is gonna talk alot. And when he does you know you won the big bucks 🤑🤑🤑🤑
Ruby had one hell of a story to tell her grandkids after her time on price is right so glad she won
On the November 9, 1984, episode of THE PRICE IS RIGHT ▶️, of course.
That sweet lady deserved that $10,000! Well done!
That sweet lady deserved to be $10,000 richer! Good going, Ruby! 💜
The sounds, the music, the models (especially Janice), gives me a feeling of nostalgia when I used to watch Bob in the 90s when I was little. I remember I would watch on sick days or during the summer when school was out.
Ruby got ice in her veins lmao came up and swept the entire game without even flinching.
You have to love how Bob would screw around with the contestants. Especially if they win BIG!!! Like Ruby did.
Love the way he'd always smooth his pocket. That's style. Nobody could ad lb with the hoi polloi like him either.. Barker was the best of them all.
Man, I wish I was alive in 1984. That looks like it was a great time to be alive compared to now.
it was.😉
yes, I think we still had good water, and real food..
It's crazy to think with everything we have now, that in so many ways somehow we did have it better 40 years ago. It almost doesn't make sense. But essentially everything we have now that makes life tolerable, we did have back then. Electricity, hot water, refrigeration, air conditioning, cars, shopping malls and even a good way to be contacted if you needed to be. But at the same time, if you just wanted basic anonymity, you could have it. People were focused on each other and if someone wanted to space out in public like _everyone_ does now with phones, it was usually a book or newspaper. Very few people even had walkman. You were actually mentally present in what you were doing and connected with the humans in front of you.
If you needed directions, you asked and someone gave them to you. If you broke down on the road, people would pull up. If you had a problem at a company, you actually dialed a phone number and someone picked or wrote a letter and they actually responded like you were a person. Crazy stuff nowadays. All kind of outsourced to technology.
That it was and I turned 11yrs old
Legend has it Paul and Francis are still vying for their turn
😅
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sweet Ruby, I hope she’s still with us😅
😂 Wouldn't that be nice?
I love old school tv shows.
So do I ❤Reminds me of the days I stayed home sick from school at Grandmas house 😊
Ruby is so sweet. Happy she won $10,000.

i think what makes the price is right so charming is that bob is just so excellent at his buildups, the off-the-cuff showmanship, being able to make moments like this so special. Also when he asked "what's the most you ever won" I mean technically the 100$ for the exact bid was the most, right? haha.
I absolutely adore her humble and modest reaction ❤
This was so fun to watch. Happy for Ruby!!!!
Bob is fantastic. Much better than what we have today.
What? Drew is great. Come on.
Whats wrong with Drew?
Drew Carey is pretty good, And He's from Ohio.
Ruby hit the jackpot on the first try 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 Bob’s reaction was great when he first opened the card 🤣
Lol even the dollar over tactic couldn't save Francis lol
Bob Barker was just the BEST!

@@cedriclee7631 Yep 👍🏻.
This is also the last playing with the original white money slips. The current yellow ones were introduced in the next playing on November 27, 1984.
Now I can get that right ✅ on Trivia night !
They switched them because you could see through the white slips.
Wow what a Pistorian!
With the very first punch! How often does THAT happen?
The greatest punch a bunch player in Price is Right history.
Wonderful win
This is one of my favorite games on the show.
From overbid to exact bid. What an epic.
And she just breezed through the high/low guesses of the product prices. I bet she is a regular viewer who never misses an episode.

Ruby, you win the 10000$
Please send her to veges. One lucky grandma. Yes.
When everyone was not animals.
people have always been animals. they just show it now.
Thank goodness, there are still some people that have good manners and care about each other. I’m grateful for that.😊
So true. Better times.
I love that the lady won, but I wish the result wasn't spoiled by the video title.
I miss Bob Barker. He was one in million
OAD: November 9, 1984. One another highlight from this episode is a limited-edition Sony Trinitron console TV, which costs a flat $10,000, offered in Range Game, and it turned out to be the first-ever 5-digit prize in the game.
And unsurprisingly, it was set up for a loss, as the right price was placed only $100 away from the top!
Yep 👍🏻!
I’m surprised they didn’t offer a 5 digit car during that era on Range Game. I think Temptation was the last car game that was invented during the 1970’s that converted to a 5 digit display in 1993.

What a damn good bid by her to get on stage, and what horrible luck for that gentleman whom bid a dollar extra!!
@6:17 as only Janice can!!!
What was significant about it?
@@PGTransformed
What did she do at 6:17 that was significant?
Francis: "Just keep winning, just keep winning!"

I was in kindergarten when this originally aired, but I bet my late grandmother would have been watching TPIR that day as she was a homemaker, my grandfather would come home during lunch from his town maintenance job since it was a two minute drive to his workplace. My grandfather still watches TPIR and also LMAD.
@@heidimountain606 No kidding.
A nice win
That is pretty incredible luck to win on the first punch.
This made me so happy!
Lucky her!

The seniors are always fun to watch.
Yeah, I would've quit if it was 1,000 dollars myself, since that's the same amount you can get on the wheel.
What about the current breakdown? What would get you to stop? Personally, any one of the top 3 amounts, $5,000, $10,000, or $25K would be great for me.
I am surprised the top prize hasn't been increased to 50,000 like in plinko.
@@JonesDylan874 Probably the top three again, or maybe it would stay the same. Winning a four digit cash amount is pretty good.
@@chrispeplinski7306 Guess they felt this was better. They can't all be the same amount.
Poor Frances having to stand right beside such a tall man.
She won the equivalent of $32,180 of today
I looked it up too. Winning 10K doesn't seem that impressive today. But considering how much that could buy back in the day it was then.
Ruby should have thrown it back. See if she can find the other $10k slip lol

The girls look very patriotic. Now Hickory Farms is only available during the holidays
What a great win! 10k in 1984 today is 30k
LOL! Francis! $551 and loses by $1 to a perfect bid! Ha!

I love Francis’s accent.

Ruby didn't take into account the amount she won for the perfect bid a few minutes ago. That was the most she had ever won at that point. She should've said that. Guess she didn't think of it.
And Paul gets banished to the FFBC.
I bet she's made some great dinners in her day.

I heard there was one crazy person, who refused to accept his punch a bunch prize, because some of it would have gone to his ex.
On the first blow... she had such luck that she didn't go into cardiac arrest
