- Follow me on my journey as I show you around where I now live in Pattaya, Thailand.
Back in early 2022 I lost had no money, car, job, I was 30 years old, living at home with my mum. I made the decision to lock myself away and embark on a self-development journey, which lead me to becoming an Online Fitness Coach. It has been a tough journey but things are going well enough for me to vacate to Thailand and live in Pattaya, while I study the language.
When I first thought of quitting the 9 to 5 and starting my own business online, I always had the vision of moving abroad. Working remotely in Thailand has always been a dream of mine, and now it's a reality.
If you're looking to start a business online, look at what skills you currently have and if you can turn that into value for others. Before you know it, you may be moving to Thailand to work online 😉
This is the first video of many I will be making so follow along with my journey and Subscribe! 🙏

Been visiting Pattaya for 24 years now the UK is totally finished you have made the right decision. good luck with your journey.
Thanks mate! Totally agree 👌
Spitting facts.
Yh I agree it's finished uk is horrible at the moment all my mates are leaving the UK at the moment
I agree! 100%
I’m not sure what you mean by the UK being totally finished honestly. Is it immigration? Cost of living? It often seems that when this phrase is throw out what it actually translates as is “I am not able to live in this place for various reasons, or dislike something about, so that means I will say that it’s “finished” instead of admitting that the issue is really with myself…sorry for being blunt, but that’s usually what I get out of it. I have lived in Thailand for years, but one thing I don't do is make comments on the state of my country failing as if that is the reason I don't live there. They also hold up Thailand as some beacon of freedom and everything the west isn't, when in reality there are some very real social problems here and in many many ways, a whole lot less freedoms than you get in your home countries...
Plenty of people from all over the world want to come to settle in my country from everywhere (they want to go to the the UK too.) with this noted, I think its hard to really say things like "the west is failing"...no, it's more that it doesn't fit our lifestyles, and that is fine, but it doesn't mean anything else other than that. I also think that moving to a country like Thailand and expecting to just work online or remotely is a bad plan long term. You should really look into investing, opening a business in the country, that way you pay taxes and set yourself up for potential permanent residency. Working online, while maybe providing good income, isn't really best for long term planning.
Congrats on making the move! I sold everything and moved to Thailand in my late 30's. 22 years later I'm still here. No regrets.
22 years is a long time, awesome!
What job do you do
@@tylerdurden-qx7lxselling Mai Thais
how were you able to stay so long? dont they have a 30 day travel time there?
Yeah, I'd get 30 days on entry with no visa and had to do border runs. Then I did 60-day multiple entry tourist visas which meant less frequent border runs, and finally I just did Thailand Elite. @@lenseofficial
I did the same thing, sold everything back in 2003, quit my job, and moved to Thailand. Now, 20 years later, and I am still happy in Thailand. I really like seeing young guys like yourself doing it too. Hopefully in 20 years, you will still be here.
must be alot money :D
Thanks mate 👍
If you don’t mind me asking…how much did money did you arrive with to supplement this ?
@@josephd4066 Back in 2003, when I was 29 years old, I sold my condo in San Francisco. The profit gave me just over $200k USD to move to Thailand. At that time the exchange rate was around 1 USD = 40 BHT, so about $8mil BHT at that time. I immediately paid cash for two things, a house and a car. My wife is Thai, we have been married for over 20 years and have 2 kids together. I met her in 2001 at Stanford University. Over the years we have owned multiple businesses and properties together. I am 49 now and she is 41 now. Still going strong, she has a UA-cam channel with over 120,000 subscribers and earns money that way. I work in consulting (100% online) and continue to earn money that way.
It was much cheaper back then, Thailand has become more expensive to.
Great story. Glad it's going well for you. Restarting and moving across the globe at any age is a huge leap. The conditions in the USA are a main factor in what drove me to leave and restart my life in Thailand at 57,
Thanks mate! Amazing that you made the leap too 👍
Hopefully I can do the same at 57 when my youngest is done with college. 5 more years.
Failure in home country won’t translate to success in another country.
@@Mike11219USA Not sure what is considered a failure, but in the Us i would have to work until 62 at a minimum, whereas my savings and investments will go a lot farther in the Philippines, allowing me to move my retirement up 5 years.
@@Mike11219USAsame habits will have same results 😁
Making that big move at 30...bravo! Happy to hear it's working for you. I'm 8 years today breaking away from the USA and living in the Philippines. The only regret is that I didn't do it sooner, so making it work at 30 gives you many more years of adventure and enjoyment ahead. Best of luck. If we happen to see you in Pattaya, will def say hello! Good luck on your channel. Your presentation and flow tells me you are going to do great.
8 years and going strong it looks like, love that for you mate 👍 hopefully see you around sometime
What city in phillipines do u recommend
It is mainly based on the lifestyle you want to live, but Iloilo is a great up and coming city and where i have lived for the past 5 years. I also like areas of Cebu although there you have large city issues. Some guys like the beach areas which tend to be in smaller less developed towns as well.@@uk_bigboss1705
i'm native thai here. i wish you being happy here. life is a life no matter what anyone got through, just don't care what other think, forget the past and move on and think positive. i used to get through big financial few years ago and a lot of surrounded ppl left me in a dust. glad i made it, and i chose the life for now that comforting my mind and move on ,and being careful in a lot of aspects in life. wish you luck
I did the complete opposite of what you did. I came here and started researching how to make money online when I arrived. No preparation, no prior skills. But it worked out :)
What did you find

But without savings, initially the only viable option is to teach English and get your visa situated through an institution right? Until you can manage to make an income remotely later as you build it up. I imagine that takes months to years to develop.

As a 40 yo Korean American fella who sold everything like you and moved to Bangkok, Thailand. I still manage to work remotely and make the money in US. Love it mate!
Ahhh mate; this video resonates with me. I’m mid 30s, got sick of life back in the UK, quit my job decided to take a long holiday, with the intention of returning home to the old routine just with a more bearable job (employee mindset!) … now I’m thinking, how the heck can I stay so started watching videos like yours!
Awesome to hear Dave, coming back to the UK is depressive! Everyone stuck in their ways, negative attitudes, rising prices. Run if you get the chance! 😅
You can't stay, you can't work in Thailand and you can't get a visa unless you're rich. Videos like these are useless and misleading
@@HH-uj8pihow about marring a Thai girl😂
"just trying to live a better life" - i completely with you.
this is YOUR life now! nobody can tell you what to do. excited to see more content
Just got back to the UK from 2.5 months in Thailand....And I can't wait to get back, you definitely made the right decision.
I'm 29 right now. Was prioritizing work over my social life and my mental state.
Recently began travelling and socializing again.
Went to Japan, fell inlove with the vibe/people over there. I might go to Thailand in April myself, see how it is.
I currently live in The Netherlands, but I don't like it here at all no more. Might start looking into my future elsewhere on short term.
I feel like the problem of prioritizing work will always come into play whenever you plan to settle down anywhere. I think it's just a part of life that you can't really just enjoy life without putting in the work somewhere. It's why I usually work my ass off for 2 years then go on a 3 month break
@@Steve-nk6vl Thing is, I never really bothered to do anything but work, for the past 6 years.
I also started to dislike The Netherlands in general, it has been changing in a rapid motion and affected the overal mood and interaction with people here.
Now-a-days, everyone is hostile af. Way too much crime happening on the daily. People becoming so self-absorded that even greeting someone makes you feel like you're being frowned upon, cause it's barely common.
Everyone looks depressed and grumpy.
Currently in the process of the same thing. Liquidating all of my belongings and on a plane to Pattaya in February!!!!! See you in Pattaya!
You got a like and a sub from me! I'm on a similar journey now and, if you think it's scary at 30, try it in your upper 40s! I'm reevaluating a lot of what I thought I wanted and needed out of life and dropping the things I don't truly need and focusing a lot of time on weeding through the things I wanted to cut the chaff and get to the truly important bits. Keep it up, and pursue your happiness.
I’m a Canadian turning 34. I just sold everything I own and quit my job at a coal mine to live in Vietnam. Can’t wait to work on myself and start fresh. This video made me feel a little more confident that I’m not making a bad decision so thanks haha 👊🏻
so how are you going to make money? Are you going to live what the western society gave you - all the priviledge? Or do you plan to get work in Vietnam, master the language and have salary typical for Vietnamese?
@@WojciechowskaAnna I have some money from selling my home to live on and plan to develop skills so I can work remotely just like the creator of the video.

Super inspiring story! Currently 23 years old living in the US working a corporate job. Blessed to have a decent job but so bored in the US ready for a change. Working hard on creating online income so I can have that location freedom.
Exactly the video I needed. I’m off to Thailand in May next year for a month travel trip, flights booked. But I’d love to move to Thailand and that’s still the primary goal. Thanks for the video
Youre giving me hope mate. I am currently stuck at a corporate job with no exciting plans or a future. Ive been thinking of this move for a while now. Just gotta find the niche to provide so I can work remotely or online.
You can do it mate. Knuckle down, focus on yourself, and the ideas will soon start flowing. Don't be afraid of taking risks, no one successful out there got to their position without taking risks 👌
You're going to need to save 5 million Thai baht for a 20 year visa
@@HH-uj8piIf you’d work for a company there, do you still need this atrocity of an amount to live there?
I was just awarded 100% dissability. $3,621.95/month should be plenty in Thailand. It was affective sept.2023. Im already online-hunting for my pattaya condo.
Check out my pattaya condo video, it's a great place where I'm at! Also that amount of money per month is more than affordable to live here, best of luck mate 👍

Amazing, well done buddy. I lived there for 6 months back in 2007, its paradise. Thanks for the inspiration. Some day hopefully!!!!!
Im 26, went to uni, have a pretty good job with good prospects and have a decent amount of savings. But I am just generally so unhappy with my life. I need something like this.
Great story . I'm in the process of doing similar selling everything and moving to Thailand full time . I have a 2 month trip boked for DEC/JAN then its back to the UK to cross the dots on everything before the move next summer .
Just came across your content, it's very good, I wish you all the best on your journey, I've been thinking about traveling to Thailand and your tips have been extremely useful and has given me the confidence to go there one day, cheers
Great that you made your decision while still being young. I'm thinking about moving to Thailand but I'm 60 and wish I'd thought of it sooner. I have dual citizenship for Canada and the US but the cost of living is high in both of those countries. Didn't realize you had a passion for fitness. I started bodybuilding at 19 and so have been at it for over 41 years myself. Keep up the good work.
Hey Bro, just subbed. Looking forward to your content. I have fallen in love with Thailand. 3 trips in 18 months. My first being Phuket Sandbox January 2022 the moment our boarders opened - Back again for my 40th in August 2022 - and 3rd trip June/July this year. Since coming back I know now I don’t want another “Holiday” in Thailand…. I want to move there! I have gone down the rabbit hole of looking for work online, also approached my employer about doing my call centre job over there. All to no avail. I will keep looking, and doing as you suggest of working on myself! Looking forward to your content moving forward! Cheers!
Keep looking mate! Once you end up living here you'll never look back. All the best mate 👍

At 47, I'm getting my first chance to do this type of move and transition. Many people don't realize the changes they can make until retirement age, which is at least mid 60s in the US. Now, to figure out how to get rid of years of stuff I've collected over the years!
Im dutch but i get your point about leaving uk. I had a thai gf in the past. Love the country to, but i went back home. I have my own company here, but thinking about leaving in the future. Hey man, congratulations and nice video! I'm at exactly the same point in my life, and pretty scared to sell all my belongings this December when I return to clear out my rental flat in Berlin since there's the same BS happening in Germany, with a massive housing shortage and no way I'll find another cheap flat like that ever again. I partied 20 years until 38, then I rebuild my life, now I am 47 and I will once again leave everything behind and build a new life in Bangkok, rather start to build it there and see where it leads me.
I don't care anymore.
Safety is just a feeling, everything in life comes with risks and nothing is sure, just that I am going to die one day. I am not going to spend the rest of my life waiting for that day and when it comes, I will be excited to see the train running in front of my eyes, with all those memories of a life that everybody else just dreams about. I will have met so many interesting people, learned new languages, seen the world and spend my time finding something like a meaning in all of this.
It doesn't matter how old you are. It's just your head that makes it harder everyday to change something. Everything else is just bullshit that other people made up about what a "successful" life is supposed to look like.
It's just you making a decision and that's it.
Hey mate. Awesome guy, good voice, presentation, video editing , and music. This channel has a great potential to success. Concentrate on the topics. Most older successful expats' channels in Thailand have as a maximum of 80K to 100K subscribers. Wish you all the success 👍😊 to overpass that number.

I got lucky and bought a house before everything went insane. If I sold everything I'd probably have around 200k. I also have a job where im at 100k CAD a year with lots of perks.
I could get by in Thailand for some years off just savings but I wouldn't want to potentially have to return one day with nothing and start from scratch.
