Great to see that you young guys are aware of the dangers and potential difficulties in pattaya , I have been coming 20 years and made many mistakes , there was no UA-cam when I started coming , good advice buddy ,
Spot on mate, I've been going to Thailand for 15 years, not gonna lie I learnt the hard way regarding lady drinks on my first ever trip to Thailand in Bangkok , I thought they were scamming me with the bill, but the mamasan explained it to me & showed me the drinks menu & only to realise lady drinks (100-200baht) are more expensive then the normal prices. With the bin, I've always been careful & check my bin regularly, there have been occasions, when they slided a few when I've just had only 3 beers. Best tip I could give which I have been doing for years, I pay my bin after every 3 drinks especially with spirits & shots, then I'll start again
So , paused the video to ask this: At the beginning of the night, can you ask the Mamma San to let you know after 4 drinks eg. So you can pay? There's an Old Dive bar here in the USA that works on this system, and not for scamming reasons, but only the old "You trust us to serve you without distractions, we trust you to pay us at the end of the night" but in that place I always tell them, hey let me know when I have 4.. or however more, I set my limit to each night!?
@@MichaelOKC I would say don't bother asking her she'll instantly know that you're a newbie & before you know it she'll more then likely add a few drinks to your bill without you realising , you can pay at your discretion whenever you're ready i.e; pay after you order a drinknor like I mentioned earlier pay aftet 3-5 drinks . I just do it , incase I get drunk or tipsy while I'm having fun & I forget how many drinks I've had so I don't have a problem with the bill when I'm leaving To be honest, there are a lot of mamasans are crooks themselves & I wouldn't trust them to let you know when to pay after 3/4 drinks.
Great video mate, everything is spot on, I like it how You dive into it with no BS. It's exactly like how you say it and all the little tricks and all the little bits, having lived in Thailand over 12 years. It's kind of fun listening to how accurate u got this. Cheers
Lots of good advice here. A few more tips: 1. Don't buy tequila shot lady drinks. The girls will slam then down and ask for another whereas a regular lady drink should last awhile. 2. You can pull a second girl from the same bar if you buy the previous girl a lady drink and have briefly her join you and your new new choice to chat. This way the first girl doesn't lose face in the bar. 3. When you buy a girl a lady drink you're really buying her time for her to be with you. So don't be offended if her lady drink is fruit juice or even water on ice. Trust me, you don't want a drunk Thai bargirl anyway. 4. If you have a problem with a bill or a girl, never raise your voice or show anger. If you do, you've already lost the argument in Thais' eyes. Just ask for the manager or owner and calmly state your complaint.
When I order a drink I always check the bill and I make sure the waitress and/or the girl can see that I am checking the bill. Some guys might be ashamed of doing this because they think the waitress or the girl are going to think they are cheap… Not at all. What the waitress and the girl actually think is that you know exactly what you are doing in a bar in Thailand.
It's not about that, no matter how much money someone earns. You shouldnt get ripped off because you are a foreigner and have a average better salari compared to them. I don't mind spending extra as long as i'm getting treated right and not being scammed in the first place.@@keem7910
The other thing is-LOCK UP YOUR TOOLS! They make tiny padlocks that just fit through that hole in the zipper pull on your pants--you know, the "entry gate" to the ballpark (two balls and a bat),and KEEP THAT SUCKER UNDER LOCK AND KEY!
@@diamondwolfpack6 i know yes they exist. Of course they are its just not so obvious at all if you are new here or used to thailands straight up versions. I know several people who come here and been in thailand for many years asking me because they are confused how to find a chicken girl.
Here is one you missed. Never pick up a girl from a bar in the Soi where your staying, they watch for you and give you grief if you walk home with someone else.
Thats very true, the evil looks you can get and even if they shout something, it could cause friction with the current girl you're with, as she'll know you previously went with that girl, or at least know her! Can get awkward, good point
Whaaaat?? Are you kidding me? I thought this was purely a business transaction? not a life time commitment of horror. 😂 why get jealous of something that doesn't even belong to you. 🤦
I lived just outside Pattaya from 2009 until I met my future wife in 2015 (Filipina) I still travel often to Thailand and i use the same bars every time i go, i buy all the girl there a drink or two under the strict understanding, their drinks cost the same as my drink... It works when you use a pub or bar as your local...
I have been going for over 20 years to Pattaya I have to say really good information your providing here. Spot On! This is all so true. I would like to add when your with a freelancer take a photo together ! If it won't get you in trouble or delete it later just in case something happens! If they know you have they're photo less likely to do something wrong. Always have them leave ID at the desk! This will assure you have a good time and not get robbed.
I've been to Thailand for the first time around 30 years ago and I was living in Thailand for more than 9 years. From my own experience your words are so true and really the best help for new tourists. Everybody should listen and remember what you recommended.
Absolutely great advice all around. Lived in Thailand for 10 years, still go back on occasion. Everything this guy says is absolutely right. Especially 19:32 . Can't tell you how many times I've seen young guys getting all hurt or pissed off because "their" girl is being barfined by another guy. Don't get attached. EVER. Also... don't ever buy her gifts. I know a guy who wound up buying a phone for his "girl," a phone for her sister, and a phone for her son. No.
Excellent content and spot on almost 100%. I have lived here for 5 years, coming here for 25. I am not here for the nightlife or lady scene but of course like some company every now and then. Gents Clubs, when you know what you want, offer an amazing experience at really competitive prices.
Excellent newby advice here. Opinion: 50% of ladies do not speak more than 10 words of English in bars in Pattaya lately. Guys who want to spend time "conversing" with a specific lady does not always happen. Also if they can speak English, they have been working bars or had a foreign boyfriend for a year or more. You need to get a feeling and just barfine and take a chance. Yes pay your bill even if padded a bit. I know so many expats who have twice the pension I do and complain all the time about an extra drink on their bill, or price of lady drinks, etc... Hahaha 5555 Soi 6 "a couple hours upstairs" It is "you come I go" most times you are upstairs in the room with the girl for less than 45 minutes. Back in my younger days always took the girl straight to the room for fun....THEN if all was fun and good, go out on the town. Why waste all that extra money if you have no idea if you and the girl are good together, + getting her drunk on first time out is a big risk
they have those bars run by English blokes including full English Breakfast and Sunday roast but why go Thailand in the first place if just to drink? you can do that back home
I saw your advice after I went to nana plaza in Bangkok last week. You are right about everything, but I have never seen a more honest 'girl' place anywhere before. My bill was always correct, yes was yes and no was no without any issue and even when I accidentally overpayed I got the extra money back automatically.
Most places are. I've only had one occasion where my bill had an extra drink on and it could have just been an honest error. Although I've never been extremely drunk, or a bad customer but it can happen for sure 👀
I’m heading to Thailand next week for the first time. Infact it’s my first international trip. Have seen so many videos so far but this has been the most informative video. The credit also goes to your articulation and the speed of talking. Keep up the good work mate 🙌🏼
I’m here now same thing. First trip and solo. Almost finished a month. Got lucky and met a good girl not in the bars. Best trip of my life. Hell, best month of my life. Hit Pattaya, Phuket with the girl, and now BKK by myself. We both started to get close so I had to leave before emotions got too much. Man, get you a girl that knows the places and rent a motorbike. See everything and then make sure to stretch a lot with her when you get back to the hotel room
I would never rent a moped in Thailand, they drive and ride, walk like nutters, your just a target for anything that moves, get a car, with not just damage waiver, but extra cover, its worth it, also with mopeds becauful because some English insurances only cover you upto 125cc after that your not covered in an accedent @@portlandGTR
IMO, Buy the Mamasan a couple drinks before any bar girl. Become her friend and she will look after with respects to the bar girls. I usually pick a specific server if I am going to the same bar regularly to also befriend
Most of all the trouble Yanks get in starts with drinking in these foreign countries' bars. Just do all the cheap poontang - u can get drunk in USA or ur hotel room. Westerners got to be wary of all these foreign people but know young dudes just got to go to these bars.
@@igorpap8619 I'm going next week. Thailand is a great place to visit. Not everything is about the ladies. Better than going to South America where they will pic pocket you, shoot you for your phone and sell you organs.
You are so right. My uncle who ventured to both Thailand and the Philippines over the years and is a pro always says never go to bars. just go chat up a girl and ask her to come clean or cook and keep your company where the rest of the other stuff will fall into place.
Excellent presentation! He didn't went into detail on why not to get into an argument with any local, bar or elsewhere. You can lose on the cheap, just money, or you can lose on the high, your face won't look the same in the mirror ever again. Your choice. My advice is charge money to your learning account and always remember you are a guest in their culture, not a member.
When paying your bin/ bill, I use the US method. Pay as you go. They sit the drink down. You hand them the money/cash, and a tip right then, if any. You don't run a tab, as we say in the US.
Really informative info on thai bar customs. I've visited Thailand in January with a friend who lives there. Great country with very friendly people. Got befriended with a bar girl and still have regular contact. She shared some of the same things you explained. Just stay aware of your bill, and don't get hammered when going out by yourself.
Going back to kata beach in Phuket in October. Everything this man says is on point. Apart from he forgot the street sellers at bars! As soon as they see a foreigner they double if not triple the prices. Always negotiate!
Those freelancers which you see hanging around in the streets or beach roads are often girls who are kicked out of the bar because they're caused problems all the time or were STD positive tested. This is one of the reasons why they offer customers more lower rates and reason that it's less safer to take one to your room
Wow! This is a video that I will keep bookmarked for a long time. Very well put together and I really appreciate the work that you put into this. This is the first video that I've seen from this channel and it was so informative, I had no choice but to subscribe.
Very good video and very good tips 😁 A good tip also if you are on your first trip and alone, buy the moped guys and security guys outside your hotel a few bers or some soda. Just to be noticed. Do this once or twice a week, then they will really watch out for you and make sure you're safe. It's a cheap way to stay safe in your local street. Also, remember that all the taxi guys are really updated about everything around town. So if you are nice to a few, a lot of others will know about it. If you lose anything or someone stole something, the taxi guy are the one to ask for help. As always, there will also be some bad apples in this group. Next tip, some ladyboys might try to "attack" you if you are very drunk on your way home from the bar/club at night. Remember, take it easy and don't attack back. I usually have a 100 baht in my back pocket or in my sock. Give this to h*m and smile and say that you just want to go home and are not looking for trouble. That will get you pretty far. Don't be rude, you are a guest in this country. Also, if you are at a bar or a club that you like and a girl comes over and you just want to be alone, tell her you just want to sit and relax. And slip her a 100 baht. That way she will watch over you and give you top service. She'll get you nuts for your drink and such. Also when you are done, for example after happy hour, ask the girl who made you your drinks. Go over and slip her a 100 baht. The others will see this and the next time you come there, you'll be treated as royalty and when the guy/girl in the bar see you, you'll get extra good and big drinks. Also they'll have your table ready and the others sitting there and being cheap, will wonder why you are so important. Thailand is not only about saving money every day. If you are smart about your spendings, doing it the right way, you'll get a lot extra. If you are at a bar with few people, find the mama san and buy her a shot. She'll buy you one back. And in the end you'll often get a lot of free shots and drinks. You may also get a good deal on a barfee. 😃
Having lived in Thailand back in 08,09,10. If you plan on living in Pattaya, I would avoid the girly bars until you really know the lay of the land. If you're a decent looking guy you'll have zero problem. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. From the cafes to the restaurants to the grocery stores. It's a no effort gig.
Absolutely a great tips video ! Very well done! I do travel to Thailand since 1998 regularly and you are spot on! But even knowing all of that we continue to fall to the trap ... but worse enjoying it!😅
Quite happy here in USA, do have a buddy over there now though, he is south of Phuket and lost contact with him 2 weeks ago. I really have no interest to go to any of those countries but it is interesting to see what people get themselves into lol
I Pay the bin every hour. Watch out for semi empty bars later at night, maybe 4-5 girls and the barmaid suddenly rings the bell. Rounds on the house!!! You get a free beer, then not long after pressured to ring the bell yourself. Cute little scam.
Wake up all guys, you fly have way around the world to get fucked ??? Because you can't get a girl in your own city, pretty sad. You all of a sudden think your handsome, these girls are all prostitutes and you spent hundreds just to get laid, what no escourts in your city??? These girls do this work not because they like it the do it to support there mom and dad, there family. That's where most of there money goes back to the family. Most of you guys wouldn't get a second look let alone a first one if they didn't need the money to support the family. If there were good paying jobs for them there would be a lot less bars, they do this to survive. Do you see any bars in your city like the ones in Thailand???? Just look at this blogger here, no hair, goofy beard, covered in tatoos because he is so in secured, no wonder he has to go all the way to Thailand and pay for sex. As I said, Wake up guys your not all that handsome nor smart.
I purchased my fluent talk on Amazon a couple of months ago after seeing a review on side trip life. I'm heading to Thailand in 3 weeks and I'm looking forward to using it. I really like the review you did though different than anybody else well done! One of the things I liked was that you can enter a single greeting in it which I put in that I don't speak Thai and I'm using this to communicate is that okay or something like that. I wish Thai was one of the off grid languages but since they have such a good internet there I don't expect it to be a problem.
Thai does not translate worth a crap from English on the translation apps. Things will be missed and misunderstood just cause the language is set up so differently. Try and type as if you were in 1st grade. “I no like beer” or something like that.
If you want to bar fine other girls from the same venue, make sure to tell the girls your a " butterfly " that will let them save face and you'll have no issues after that
Sorry to burst any bubbles but what guys like this don't usually know is the girls kind of detest them. The reality of the exchange is more complex than this guy thinks. Or if you like, simpler - If you're in this scene, you are a John. A whole John. And nothing but a John. Just saying.
I forget where I was...Italy perhaps? Went to a bar and a woman asked me to buy her a drink. Went to leave the bill was like $80+ for two drinks. I didn't argue it there as bouncers surrounded me right away and I paid by credit card. Refuted the charge and told the story to Visa and was credited the money back. Just FYI if that happens to you.
Very, very informative information here! By far the most accurate and complete info about the bar scene. After coming more than 30 times to Thailand in a period of 12 years, i've had alot of mistakes made which you mention in the video. First time started a whole week with the same lady and go same bar everyday... Later on barfined a lady, next day barfined another lady from the same bar.. (her face was priceless).. so many stories witch can happen in Pattaya.. Nowadays i just enjoy exploring the whole of Thailand with a normal lady which have a regular job, learned alot of Thai myself, and just enjoy! Are you planning to go other cities too? Keep up the good work Sir! Greetings from Belgium!
You must be a white dude? Being Asian, the Thai women think you are just a local there and wont give two shits about talking to you. When they hear me speak perfect English then they open up and try to make money off me. lol But yes meeting a local girl would be the best option. Too bad so many of them are working.
Yeah, i made my first trip to Thailand a couple of months ago. I probably overpaid by a couple of hundred dollars overall. Fair price for what I learned. One thing I learned was that buying drinks for an "older" bar girl meant that she would not leave me alone every time i went to that bar and sometimes she would try to drag me off the street into the bar.
Very informative. I feel like I could say I've been to Thailand many times, and I know the score, and make it believable. 😆 I've been watching other channels too many are just walking down streets and taking creepy videos of unsuspecting people. If they do actually say anything the "experts" leave out important details because they, being "experts" assume there are some things everyone knows. Also it really seems like the objective of some of them is to scare people away from going there.
Thanks, very useful clear information and some good tips for making your holiday a little better with no drama. I have been for about 10 years with 1 trip per year and has taken me this long to learn about what and what not to do but I still make mistakes like not making someone lose face. If you have a complaint you have to be very careful about how you do it and not be too aggressive in the manner you complain but make out as if it could be partly your fault even if it isn't and also that you are not upset saying sorry for bothering them with what has gone wrong(Koh Toh) in Thai and things should go much smoother. An example of this is the wrong food ordered.
Excellent presentation w/salutary cautionary tales. I lived in Taiwan for 12 years and found I had to distance myself increasingly from the sort of foreign expat you describe. As a Kiwi commentator put it in a 1990s-era book intro to teaching English in Taiwan, “the island is filled with degenerate Americana.” Although as an American I can state that, percentage-wise, non-American degenerate expats from the Anglosphere (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., Ireland, and South Africa) were in roughly equal ratios to the American ones.
A few months ago I had a couple of friends come into town. they wanted to go to a Go Go bar on walking street for a beer. so we went to a go go bar and I saw a cute little girl who was working for the bar standing out front with a few other girls who were holding signs for 60 baht beers. I liked the cute little girl so I asked her to come in with me. but because I was with the girl. they sat us down in the back past the actual stage with all the girls on it which I didn't like. then me and my two friends ordered a beer. and I bought a drink for the girl. after around ten minutes they asked me to buy another drink for the girl which I declined. because she didn't speak any English and I could not get anywhere with her. so they dragged the cute little thing away from me. around 15 minutes later we all wanted to leave. and they handed us the bill and it says one lady drink and four beers. and the beers were all 120 baht. we said the signs out front all said 60 baht beers. and they said that that is only for a certain type of beer. and not the ones that we got. then we said we only ordered one beer each. so why is there four beers on the bill. and after a few minutes they corrected the bill to three beers. but we still had to pay twice as much for those three beers. but we didn't argue it. so if a bar has a sign that says 60 baht beers out front. ask for the 60 baht beer when you go in. and always keep track of the amount of drinks. I would bet that this bar slips an extra beer on every tab. and I would also bet that three quarters of the customers just pay what the total says without really looking at the bill. and if they bought multiple drinks the bar probably slips more than just one extra one on the tab. and if the guy is drunk. or has been there a couple of hours. or if you are with a few people. and you had multiple drinks for an hour or two. there is no way you could dispute the bill. also in all the years I have lived in Thailand I have never bar fined a girl from a go go bar. and I never will. I only go there for a beer and a half our of visual enjoyment. the go go prices are crazy. I don't know what the average bar fine is nowadays. but I know it used to be 300 baht everywhere for the regular bars. but I am not sure if that is still the standard fee. but the go go bars will charge anywhere from 1000 to 2000 just for a bar fine. and then another 3000 baht just to bring the girl up to a room for an hour. so you can literally pay 5000 just for the girl and most likely a 1000 or 2000 drink bill as well. and you are getting the same girl that you can get at a regular bar for 300 bar fine and a 1000 for the girl. and not just for an hour upstairs. but taking the girl home and actually enjoying some time with her. but I am not sure if the prices have stayed the same because I haven't taken a bar girl home for many years. but with that said there are guys with so much money that they don't care. they will buy drinks for different girls all night just so they will sit next to him and he can feel them up. and at the end of the night he will pay a 10.000 baht bar bill. and maybe take one or two of the girls home for another 10.000 baht. because to some guys that is nothing for a fun night. maybe they make that much an hour in the work they do. but the average guy should just take girls from regular bars. but if they do go to a go go bar. just nurse your one beer for an hour and then go. and maybe go to another go go bar and nurse another beer for an hour. and then go to a regular bar if you want to take a girl.
How do you know if it's a Go-Go bar or a Gentleman's Club or a "regular bar"? I've never been to Thailand but would like to go. Can you hire a local dude to show you the ropes who speaks English...or must you search for another Expat or experienced tourist to go with to be your hide??
🤔….👏….first time viewer here - and new subscriber. Excellent advice! I look forward to reviewing more of your content. I have been visiting Thailand (mostly Pattaya, but also a little time in Bangkok & Phuket) since 2004. I will be interested to see if you have covered the meaning (and how to navigate) a “gik” relationship. If not, it would be a good topic to cover for your subscribers - especially the more experienced Thailand visitors. Also, the “Gentleman’s Clubs” generally open earlier and close earlier, and many have more than just a curtain for privacy - there are Gents Clubs with really nice s.t. rooms you can ‘rent’ for a few hours. These clubs cater especially guys who visit often or live there full-time and have a wife or serious gf….so you can go out for a daytime “round of golf” (for example), and instead visit some Gents Clubs. One final thought (after reading some of the other viewer comments made on this video)….when visiting Pattaya, I generally avoid bringing girls to my hotel (just my preference - if the bar offers on-site rooms), but when I do I generally will start visiting bars several streets away from my hotel (or even start on “the dark side” and then over time during the vacation, work my way in to bars each evening closer and closer to my hotel. This avoids the situations where you barfine a girl and then walking past a bar you previously barfined a girl. Just saves some potential drama/vibe-killing situations. Enjoyed this video - Well done.
I wished I had watch this video before going on a night out in Patong. I had some idea what was going on but not in detailed like what you've had mentioned in this video. I'm glad I made the right decision to end the night early after being coerced by the working bar women into buying more drinks and playing drinking games. I was completely hammered already since I had pre drinks with friends before I left the hotel.
Hands down the best advice and tips video i have seen. Have been many times and agree with every word. One i would add is to be clear what is meant by short time/long time. If you want a girl overnight state that otherwise she will be heading off to her bf at 3 or 4am and claiming that as long time. Great vid though.
This is making me anxious just watching these videos because I know that if I went to such a place …I would most probably fall into traps. So I’m sticking to Sydney 🇦🇺 every time for my Holiday. You know where you stand with Aussie chicks 😂😂
If you are entering a place with doormen be polite, smile say something nice and touch an arm... but don't 'wye' 🙏 If the guy leads you to your seat and asks for your order, dro a "would like one also?" Then if some obnoxious tourist gives you grief you are already marked as a good guy.
Spent a week in Phuket last month, met a girl who was very shy working in a bar, spent a fair bit of time getting to know her inside and outside of her works, spent the week with her, went back to her condo, she wanted to pay for food at the restaurants and would also buy me drinks at the bar she worked in and when we were out. We've kept in touch as i intend to go back 3 times a year to Thailand. Shes never asked for anything and feel like its actually quite genuine. I like to think im a good judge of character and intent on visiting her again. What would your opinion on this be?
First time in Thailand i was in front of that big building which was filled with bars and go go bars, forgot the name of the place, its been a while hehe. There i was staring and 3 guys from the Navy (two brothers and their uncle) and they asked me what i was staring at,told them it was my first time there and that i couldn't believe that whole city block was packed with women. They chuckled and said come on Newbie we going to show you around, these guys went to Thailand like 3 or 4 times a year so they knew their way around. Really nice folks,2nd night out i actually got so drunk that they pointed out that the girl i was taking to my hotel was a ladyboy hahaha, damn they sure saved my ass that day. Those months i spent in Thailand sure were memorable.
for decades we all have been making the same mistakes over again sadly a lot of continue with either making them or new ones the world needs to know it's important not to continue this cycle because it can have so many bad consequences thankfully there are videos like this one .
Some Bars or Gogos will reduce the bar fine later in the evening. They do that as a way to keep you there spending money on drinks. Generally if you are a good customer and very respectful, they will give you extra perks. I always buy the Manager a drink and get to know them. Stay honest with your intentions, don't try the game the system (They are way better at it than you and have seen any scheme you may try to run), BE POLITE. If you do these things then you will be treated very good and have a way more enjoyable time. I agree with almost all you have said in this video. It is very informative and true to the scene in Pattaya. I have been going there for years and have many female friends I keep in contact with. Side note: learn as much of the language as you can. You don't have to speak Thai but it does help understanding what is being said around you. I'd love to buy you a beer next time I'm there. Keep up the good work. It's people like you that help visitors have an enjoyable time in Thailand.
This advice is good and I can atest for that having first gone to Thailand in 1977, lived there for 10 years and married for over 40 years. Never heard of gents clubs though. That must be a new thing.
they sound great more relaxed and you do not bar fine I think you just pay for the room upstairs - some have a variety of different things and start earlier some early as 9am or 10
As a retired U.S Army veteran, this man is giving great advice! Some different countries call these girls different things. Sometimes it's go girls, could be drinky girls etc. same exact thing with the momma pimp. Only advice I will give is do not get attached to any of them. Had a Soldier get attached and saw what he thought was his drinky girl with another service member, so he strangled her to death in the bathroom. Long story short, he was in Korean jail and no amount of rank was getting him out. He was spending 3-5 years in Korea jail and this jail is worldwide famous for making inmates dance and rehearse Michael Jackson Thriller song. You can view it online. Bunch of inmates in orange and they do it very, very well. Lots of time to practice! You do NOT want to go to jail in some of these places... You might not ever leave...
Hey bro nice videos goood to see you left the west for freedom! I’m from Australia man so I’m in the process off selling my assets and moving hopefully within the next 3 months! Will def like to have a gym session with you 💪
Beware of double lady drinks (kind of) scam. At some bars if the girl asks for example for a whiskey & coke it is considered 2 lady drinks. Ask the waitress how much lady drinks are and then order the lady drink.
The more videos I watch about Thailand, the more I think I’ll spend more time there. I’ll retire in 2 to 3 years. January through March is looking good.
Great Info. 2 questions if you go to a GoGo place or a Bar how soon IF you like the girl should you ask to pay the fine and take her to a room? 2nd is the quality of girls about the same at Pattay or Payong Beach. I’m heading to the latter in a few months. Thank you
It's all depending on what you and the girl decide, whether that's 1 or 2 drinks or 10! Patong beach may have a slightly higher quality of girls but much less bars and gogo bars. I'd say if gogos are your thing, stick to pattaya
This is very good video with just the right vibe. Respectful to the people and the visitors, but also educational about safety and how to simply have a great time! Thank you.
“I’ve only been working here for one week”… Yeah, right. I recommend the book ‘Private Dancer’ by Stephen Leather. He wrote it while I was working in Asia and based it on his experiences sat in a bar called ‘Jools’ on Sukhumvit Soi 4 while he was researching another book. Great video, I'm looking at visiting Thailand for the first time but want a quiet resort with few foreigners around - any suggestions gratefully received! 🙏
I have a question about the nightclubs, I'm coming to Pattaya solo in May and want to go clubbing but I've heard that you can't really go unless you get a table which is pointless for just me and if I wanted to dance it's just around a table which doesn't really work for vibing with people while dancing like you can in the UK And if you did have a table you would have to leave your drink and bin there to dance which I'd be paranoid about added bills, spiked ETC plus bit strange 1 guy on a table drinking haha. My questions are is there any clubs not like that, has anyone had experience going into a club on your own, any advise? And can you just buy 1 drink at a time to save that hassle. Would love to see a video like this based on clubbing tutorial 😅
You don't have to get a table in any club, whoever told you that is wrong! I've been to many clubs without getting a table and just enjoying the night like anyone else. Maybe they was referring to you might not have as much fun if you don't have a table. So you'll be fine 👌
Went to Nana completely green with some mates, a girl on each arm, having a blast. Everyone should do it once, but by the time we checked the bill it was 25k!
soi 6 short time rooms are usually 400 b - gents clubs have same rooms same price - every hotel i stayed in will call you in the morning when she is leaving to ask you if everything is ok - you get up give the room a quick scan - check on your valuables and cash and if everything is ok back to the phone and say all good - than they will give her her id and let her go - there is a scenario where you can take multiple girls from the same bar but ,,, you must announce that intention immediately by telling all the girls and or mamasan that you are a butterfly and will take this one tonight and that one tomorrow and so on than no one will loose face
Absolutely spot on comment, believe me when girls and mamasan find out your a butterfly they either leave you alone or they will come try to join you for some serious fun , I’ve never had any problems doing it this , so much fun 😊
This one Thai woman put it this way and I quote “All Thai women .... Want man who can take care of her ... Do you understand?” “A man can take care of a woman and be together....A woman don't have any problems..... that's love “ I wanted to reply with that with this statement but I couldn’t because the fire was already started and her temper was already flaring. I wish I would’ve said no that’s not love that’s $1200 a month whether you’re a bar girl or not. Prices of Bar Fines in Thailand * Bangkok: 600-700 Baht (Beer Bars) & 700-2,000 Baht (Go Go Bars) * Pattaya: 500-600 Baht (Beer Bars) & 700-1,500 Baht (Go Go Bars) * Chiang Mai: 400-500 Baht (Beer Bars) & 600-700 Baht (Go Go Bars) * Phuket: 500-600 Baht (Beer Bars) & 800-2,600 Baht (Go Go Bars) * Udon Thani: 300 Baht (Beer Bars) * Hua Hin: 300-500 Baht (Beer Bars) * Koh Samui: 400-500 Baht (Beer Bars) & 600-800 Baht (Go Go Bars) a girl and you want to take her out of the bar, you have to pay a bar fine which compensates the bar for missing out on earnings for drinks sold by that particular girl. It doesn’t include anything that comes after, it’s just the amount that you pay for the right to take her outside. * Bar Fine - in Thai “kâa baa” (ค่าบาร์) Thai girls working in bars receive just a very basic salary (usually between 6,000 and 8,000 Baht a month) and their job is to make streetwalkers come in and buy drinks on a daily basis, not just for themselves but also for the ladies - called lady drinks (140-180 Baht of which the girl generally receives half of it). If you pay the bar fine for the right to take her out of the bar she will normally receive nothing of that or in some places a small share, like 100 or 200 Baht. Bar fines are the main source of income for go go bars and beer bars in Thailand, after all. You will have to talk with the girl about how much she wants for short time, long time or whatever. Tip: Do it in the bar as she will (normally) tell you a standard price and it’s gonna be more expensive if you ask her after you took off her bra back in your room. Sometimes you might be lucky and you just buy her some noodles and bang her for free if she likes you a lot.
Thank you for this video but I was curious about after the first visit. For whatever reason can the girl, bargirl or freelancer, visit you on her own cause or is the ID required for every visit(with you being present)
I've been in thailand this november for the first time and in on pingpong show bars we came grab a few drinks , bought one lady drink. Got bored and went to pay my check. On check i see 4k baht even though it shoulda been 750 :) after few laughs with the bar manager and buying her a drink i left paying 1k baht :) 3+1
Thats very common scam which is why I try to avoid the ping pong shows (still yet to go luckily haha), but you got off lightly there, must have a way with words 😉
Hello bro, thanks for your video. i would ask you how about mixing drinks in a bar or street, is it safe to drink? because i saw some stories about drugs inside and after that they stolen money from customers.
I can not disagree with anything you said. Good video and good information. I also pick a friendly bar, buy a few drinks for mamasan, she will look after you better. Let's say you get sick or hurt. Mamasan can get you a girl that speaks your language to go to hospital with you and translate. Of course you pay barfing and pay the girl. I had one stay a few days, only leaving to get food. She would feed me, check my symptoms, constantly wiping my face with a cool towel. Yes they are mostly business, but very caring, if you show them respect first.

Ring the bill in the bar 😂😂😂🎉
Great to see that you young guys are aware of the dangers and potential difficulties in pattaya , I have been coming 20 years and made many mistakes , there was no UA-cam when I started coming , good advice buddy ,
Not drinking in bars will cut your cost of living in pattaya about 50% and maybe more. 😂😂
@@user-wm2tw mate that is absolutely right , an obvious comment to make , of course you will save money if you don’t drink, it is just common sense
I just do it , incase I get drunk or tipsy while I'm having fun & I forget how many drinks I've had so I don't have a problem with the bill when I'm leaving
To be honest, there are a lot of mamasans are crooks themselves & I wouldn't trust them to let you know when to pay after 3/4 drinks.
@@Somerset976 Couldn't you just pay for each drink as you order them? Thanks for the tip, though!
@@JoeL-jr7xq yeah you absolutely can, it's unusual in most bars in Thailand to pay as your order for drinks like we do in the west
@@Somerset976 Good to know!
Even though I'm from around here, I still listen to this guy. Good tips!
Great video mate, everything is spot on, I like it how You dive into it with no BS. It's exactly like how you say it and all the little tricks and all the little bits, having lived in Thailand over 12 years. It's kind of fun listening to how accurate u got this. Cheers
Lots of good advice here. A few more tips:
Imagine going to a country you make more than the average folks and concerned about them thinking you cheap
Yeah 100%
Yep , I keep doing this check tabs every transaction everytime untill I see two bartabs 😂. And never been ripped off , just overspent 😅
I have been in Thailand and in Vietnam few times, and this man is really on point. He explains everything very well. Greetings from Finland
Thank you! Greetings 👍
Vietnam is very different from Thailand. There is no gogo bars or things like that.
@@Pellkotwrong there still are massage parlors and stuff like that but it's not flashy
@nocturnalserpent these bar girls get more jealous then any other... also there's this thing there of saving face.

Thanks mate! That's some really good advice to note 👌
No.
Worse is the guy going to BF another lady.... 1st missus may well be destroyed and be pissed
Excellent content and spot on almost 100%. I have lived here for 5 years, coming here for 25. I am not here for the nightlife or lady scene but of course like some company every now and then. Gents Clubs, when you know what you want, offer an amazing experience at really competitive prices.
Girls at "prices"? Hmmmmm...If I gotta PAY a girl to "like" me.......Um,no,I think I'll pass......
Man, I miss Thailand. Pro Tip, Pay for your drinks at a few different points in the night to avoid losing track.
Very good point!
Makes sense. Pow and then see if they like you afterwards to have more fun. No need to waste money on drinks. Good idea.
2 minutes into the video I've already decided never to set foot into a bar in Thailand unless its just a 'normal' bar without 'girls'.
😂
y i always wanted to visit thailand but beeing married seems like a bit of a roadblock xD
they have those bars run by English blokes including full English Breakfast and Sunday roast but why go Thailand in the first place if just to drink? you can do that back home
@@smokingbeard7796That is the perfect time to visit Thailand 🙂
Thank you and good luck on your trip!

The first mistake is, going to the bars.
Most of all the trouble Yanks get in starts with drinking in these foreign countries' bars. Just do all the cheap poontang - u can get drunk in USA or ur hotel room. Westerners got to be wary of all these foreign people but know young dudes just got to go to these bars.
@@woodrowpreacely7521 I stayed in my room, met women nearby from online. Restaurants in every direction. Just feed her and take it from there.
First mistake is goin to thailand
Thank you! Welcome aboard 👍
Another reasons why i tend to avoid gogobar, Buy 1 girl a drink and she will ask you to buy her friend another drink, refuse and she leave
What goes round comes round. Good advice.

I Pay the bin every hour. Watch out for semi empty bars later at night, maybe 4-5 girls and the barmaid suddenly rings the bell. Rounds on the house!!! You get a free beer, then not long after pressured to ring the bell yourself. Cute little scam.
Stay away from such scam places buddy.
Ah thats a new one I've not heard of before! Thanks for the info 👀

You must be a white dude? Being Asian, the Thai women think you are just a local there and wont give two shits about talking to you. awesome advice mate, heading over for the first time in August 24. Thanks
How is it there now? Did you bring anyone to ur hotel yet? 😅
Pay up every couple of drinks saves hassles.
@@grahamgadd4786 The overpayment was not from drinks, although I did get pressured into buying more drinks than I really wanted.
Well, yes. we are sex pats and degenerate,...and we are quite proud of that, I must say!!!!!
😅
😊😊
How do you know if it's a Go-Go bar or a Gentleman's Club or a "regular bar"? I've never been to Thailand but would like to go. Can you hire a local dude to show you the ropes who speaks English...or must you search for another Expat or experienced tourist to go with to be your hide??
guide, not hide. Sorry for the typo.
Enjoyed this video -
Well done.
This video is spot on.
Once again, you speak so much common sense. You're a good guy!
Thanks bro. Ur a real one.
Hands down the best advice and tips video i have seen. Have been many times and agree with every word. One i would add is to be clear what is meant by short time/long time. If you want a girl overnight state that otherwise she will be heading off to her bf at 3 or 4am and claiming that as long time. Great vid though.
Thats very true!
This is making me anxious just watching these videos because I know that if I went to such a place …I would most probably fall into traps. So I’m sticking to Sydney 🇦🇺 every time for my Holiday. You know where you stand with Aussie chicks 😂😂
Or you can go to Thailand...and just no go to such places.
Where’s best place to go for the Aussie chicks? lol I’m looking to travel there
Great video, dence with useful info.
If you are entering a place with doormen be polite, smile say something nice and touch an arm... but don't 'wye' 🙏
If the guy leads you to your seat and asks for your order, dro a "would like one also?" Then if some obnoxious tourist gives you grief you are already marked as a good guy.
Men and women love opposite. You love her for who she is. She loves you for what you can potentially provide.
You are one smooth talking guy... I'm sure women like you no matter where you are.
Thanks bro for the tips and suggestion🙂 very helpful!!
Marriages in the US are also a business. Everything in life is a business and an arrangement.
This is very true…
That must be a new thing.
they sound great more relaxed and you do not bar fine I think you just pay for the room upstairs - some have a variety of different things and start earlier some early as 9am or 10
cheers for all the info , l am looking forward to my first trip to Thailand
Getting massaged whilst standing at a urinal was an experience I’ll never forget in Pattaya 😂
Were you at Katoey's R Us?
@@chandlerbingbong It was an Indian themed nightclub
Tell us more about that…
@@hurricanelolly 😂
no way dude this is weird
This was pretty informational thanks brother
Very good video with accurate information. Only bad thing about this video is the backwards baseball cap.
That’s a very odd thing to complain about 😂
Thank you.
Great tips. Thanks. Planning a trip for January
“I’ve only been working here for one week”…
Yeah, right.
I recommend the book ‘Private Dancer’ by Stephen Leather. He wrote it while I was working in Asia and based it on his experiences sat in a bar called ‘Jools’ on Sukhumvit Soi 4 while he was researching another book.
Unfortunately Jools was a casualty of COVID and development…
Great video, I'm looking at visiting Thailand for the first time but want a quiet resort with few foreigners around - any suggestions gratefully received! 🙏
Great video. I don't think you missed anything. Those massage guys in the toilet can come as a confronting surprise to the first time visitor. 🤣
Exactly! Getting grabbed while washing your hands comes as quite a shock 😂
that is weird lol
I am the same I enjoy dance and do not hardly drink maybe 1 drink per hour - I think some of the new gent clubs may cater for this now too
Went to Nana completely green with some mates, a girl on each arm, having a blast.
Great points!
Absolutely spot on comment, believe me when girls and mamasan find out your a butterfly they either leave you alone or they will come try to join you for some serious fun , I’ve never had any problems doing it this , so much fun 😊
How much is short time on Soi 6 ?
@@Daniel26448 everyone has a different number but expect most ladies to ask 1500
good advice but be careful some hotels charge to take a girl up to the room
This one Thai woman put it this way and I quote
“All Thai women .... Want man who can take care of her ... Do you understand?”
“A man can take care of a woman and be together....A woman don't have any problems..... that's love “
I wanted to reply with that with this statement but I couldn’t because the fire was already started and her temper was already flaring. I wish I would’ve said no that’s not love that’s $1200 a month whether you’re a bar girl or not.
Prices of Bar Fines in Thailand
* Bangkok: 600-700 Baht (Beer Bars) & 700-2,000 Baht (Go Go Bars)
* Pattaya: 500-600 Baht (Beer Bars) & 700-1,500 Baht (Go Go Bars)
* Chiang Mai: 400-500 Baht (Beer Bars) & 600-700 Baht (Go Go Bars)
* Phuket: 500-600 Baht (Beer Bars) & 800-2,600 Baht (Go Go Bars)
* Udon Thani: 300 Baht (Beer Bars)
* Hua Hin: 300-500 Baht (Beer Bars)
* Koh Samui: 400-500 Baht (Beer Bars) & 600-800 Baht (Go Go Bars)
a girl and you want to take her out of the bar, you have to pay a bar fine which compensates the bar for missing out on earnings for drinks sold by that particular girl. It doesn’t include anything that comes after, it’s just the amount that you pay for the right to take her outside.
* Bar Fine - in Thai “kâa baa” (ค่าบาร์)
Thai girls working in bars receive just a very basic salary (usually between 6,000 and 8,000 Baht a month) and their job is to make streetwalkers come in and buy drinks on a daily basis, not just for themselves but also for the ladies - called lady drinks (140-180 Baht of which the girl generally receives half of it).
Sometimes you might be lucky and you just buy her some noodles and bang her for free if she likes you a lot.
very entertaining and great tips although i won't ever need them😂.
is it ok to directly in soj 6 ask a girl for short time and the baarfine without drinks?
Thank you so much! Is it safe to travel there alone?
Thailand is very safe to travel, compared to many counties out there, tourists are everywhere and culture is great
Thank you for this video but I was curious about after the first visit. For whatever reason can the girl, bargirl or freelancer, visit you on her own cause or is the ID required for every visit(with you being present)
Depends on the hotel but generally every time. And you are required to be there when they want to get their ID back.
Great advise! We'll delivered.
Hello bro, thanks for your video. i would ask you how about mixing drinks in a bar or street, is it safe to drink? because i saw some stories about drugs inside and after that they stolen money from customers.
I've been coming to Pattaya on holidays since 1994 you are 100% right
I can not disagree with anything you said.
Very true! Showing respect and maybe buying the mamasan a drink will go a long way if you're frequently visiting a bar
Could you maybe make a video about your monthly expenses, typical costs and how much one in your situation needs per month in TH, thanks!
Good info, brother. Most of your tips work in other countries than Thailand too...
really enjoying your content - thank you
