If an earthquake occurred and Tel Megiddo was uplifted, then you might get a mountain there. Other than that, the focus on Jerusalem makes more sense.

Thank you JR. My speculation on the subject is that the lake of fire is the second death after the millennium kingdom. So that the resurrection of the beast and the false prophet for a final judgment is a possibility.

The invading army is from the north. Perhaps Megiddo is the behind the lines staging ground for the frontline battle at Jerusalem. God does say He will "gather" them there.

The definition of Gog and Magog is in Revelation 20:8 and that definition also applies to Ezekiel 38 and 39. The definition *_never_* changes. Gog is buried, but Gog remains. Gog is not entirely the beast of the sea, and the beast of the sea is part of Gog. But Gog Of Magog survives *_infinitely_* as does the 2nd Beast with 2 horns with of course God, Jesus, and New Jerusalem.

Eze 38:2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
Meshech and Tubal were located in modern Turkey. Turkey leads the Gog invasion. Russia is part of the coalition as the far north but Gog is chief prince of Meshech and Tubal which was in the ancient Turkey/Armenia area. Watch for Turkey to resurrect the ancient Ottoman rule of the middle east. Turkey is Gog check ancient middle east maps.
Ezekiel 38-39 describes the Gog battle or battles depending on your perspective. It is very easy to determine the timing of the Gog/Magog war. If we look at the end of Eze 39 we see a set of conditions that can only be true at a particular time in history.
Eze 39:21 And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.
Eze 39:22 So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward.
Eze 39:23 And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.
Eze 39:24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them.
Eze 39:25 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;
Eze 39:26 After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid.
Eze 39:27 When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;
Eze 39:28 Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.
Eze 39:29 Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
The conditions described at the end of Eze 39 can only occur at the end of the age. Israel knows God from that day forward, the gentiles will see the judgment God has dished out, God will pour His spirit out upon the house of Israel and no longer hide His face from Israel. God rescues Israel at the battle of Armageddon. So that makes the end of the Gog battle (Eze 39) line up with the timing of Armageddon. That makes Gog the AntiChrist which we see hinted at in Eze 38.
Eze 38:17 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?
God says the prophets of Israel wrote about Gog in their writings. This defines Gog as the AC since Armageddon is where God defeats the AC and company which is also the Gog war. When we search the OT for a battle in Israel that God defeats the enemies arrayed against Israel with Israel returning to the Lord for ever after. We find such descriptions in the Day of the Lord scriptures from the OT. The DOTL scriptures end with God defeating the armies invading Israel and Israel returning to the Lord for ever after just as we see in Eze 39.

God spoke of Gog by the prophets of Israel. Who did the prophets of Israel speak of in relation to a war in Israel in which God Himself defeats the armies arrayed against Israel and Israel returns forever to the Lord from that day forward?

The prophets of Israel spoke of the Day of the Lord when referencing a battle that God defeats the armies against Israel and Israel returns to Him forever after. The DOTL battle consists of a Northern army invading Israel with God defeating that northern army and Israel returning forever to Him.
That sets the timing of Eze 38-39 to the end of the last 7 years. An army approaching from the north could find Megiddo a convenient staging ground with its strategic geographic location relating to Jerusalem.

a very clear fulfillment of prophecy in our recent history. We (U.S.A.) are the ones who brought down fire from heaven in Aug. of 1945 and we are the ones that gave life to the image of the beast in May of 1948. Rev 13:13-15 (KJV).
The prophecy, 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, Rev 13:13 (KJV)
The fulfillment, The United States detonated two atomic bombs over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on 6 and 9 August 1945, respectively. “In the sight of men”, means this was done on the world stage during WWII (the second “woe”).

The fulfillment, On May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency, proclaimed the establishment of the State of Israel. U.S. President Harry S. Truman recognized the new nation on the same day. This was done using the power and prestige the U.S. earned by the act of bringing fire down from the heaven (sky).
It is said that God will bless those who bless Israel, and this is true, but the following verses show us that the “Israel in the middle east is false” and is not to be blessed.
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. The second beast of lies, saying “one nation under God” and “in God we trust”, indeed the “father of lies”, did bring fire from the heaven, (Greek Strong's Number: 3772...(through the idea of elevation); the SKY...), and did set up a false Israel in the middle east, (proven false by this verse among others 9 ...Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, HE IS NONE OF HIS. Romans 8:9 (KJV)).
This Israel has been and is the catalyst of “wars and rumors of wars” making it the image of the first beast of warmongering , Germany, who’s head was wounded in WWI(1st harvest, woe) and healed enough to bring about WWII(2nd harvest, woe).
You couldn’t get a better fulfillment of prophecy. For these events to happen again would negate the prophecies altogether. And it is asinine to think these events are happenstance and ignored by the prophecies of God. No sir, either God’s timing is off or yours is.
And this leaves only one “woe”(WWIII) left, the war that God hates (abomination), a war that makes the world desolate. 7th trump and bowl are simultaneous and plunge the world into 3½ yrs of great tribulation.
If the truth were being told then the prophecy of Matt. 24:14 would have occurred years ago, shortly after the advent of the world-wide-web. This fact proves that the prominent teachers are false teachers.
I suggest you forget all that you have been taught and come to the bible (KJV) with sincere want for truth, and not to consume it upon your lusts, but that you may do true worship and obedience to God, with a repentant heart, and with reason and logic the Spirit of God will teach.11 … in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Acts 17:11 (KJV)
